  1. 499 500 come on soon
  2. Also D we'll see 500 pages today. Probably by noon EST time. XO
  3. HP I love your picture of the group. You look like you're a seasoned veteran rider. You know there will be a time when you weigh less than John (if you don't already) and will routinely ride faster than him. D, I LOVE the video. Very nicely done and you look fantastic.
  4. You'll be fine. The only difference I found is that it hurt my 40 year old head more than it did my 20 year old self. Take some tylenol with you! Enjoy yourself! Come back and tell us which was your favorite coaster!
  5. Your video works here. Very cute!
  6. I believe the point isn't if people are successful or not with WLS, but the loaded, "WLS is easy" mentality. And I give giant props to anyone who gets weight off and keeps it off regardless of how they did it, eating disorders not with standing. It just seems like a giant brush that we, WLS users, are being painted with that implying we are lazy and taking the easy way out. Most people don't enjoy being generalized about in negative ways. Also, it's just an extention of you were fat which is wrong and now the choice you made to no longer be fat is wrong. What's a WLS girl or guy to do? Not support those people/publications that insult us? Speak out? Internalize the hate again? Rant to those that understand? Just sayin'
  7. Oh hell, You're tall and only 261? You are by FAR not the biggest person to put their butt on a bike. Keep riding chica.
  8. LAP- 5 pounds a week? You're out of your freakin' mind. But I hear you! I'd love to see a pound a week at this point!
  9. Shut up! Is that something you do too? You continue to surprise me. And hell to the no.
  10. I know others have answered this. Might I suggest you go to your local bike shop and see what they can tell you. I was riding and my knee hurt. Some old salty cycling dude said, point to where it hurts on your knee. I showed him and he said, it's probably the height of the seat. I suppose if I pointed elsewhere it would have been something else. My point is you're not sitting on your bike right and they can help you. They may tell you your bike is too short for you, bieng that you are 5'9", and I say that with spite. I'm short and resent it. But really don't do more damage when there are some simple solutions. AND I write this all the time...DON'T let your size keep you out of the bike store. There are some super excited cycling people working in there and they love to share their passion. Anyone worth the time of day will be able to help you out. I tend to shy away from the YOUNG boys who work there but even they have been great at times. Really you're not the biggest person to ride a bike...
  11. You all hit upon a couple of things. Media loves controversy. What would they talk about if it weren't sensationalized. Obese woman has WLS, works hard, keeps the weight off, news at 11...yawn. There is money in keeping people fat and there is money to be made in getting those same fat people skinny. And the best part is it's a cash cow because they are forever failing and trying again. Who wants to support the idea the cycle can stop? There's also money in subsidizing cheap nutrient poor food to feed the masses. Ask giant agra-business that supplies the flour for the giant pack of cookies and the people who process high fructose corn syrup. See what it takes to get a half pint of berries into the hands of a poor mother. She if she understands the value of $3 berries which equal 2 snacks, or a 2 pound package of cookies that cost her a buck-fifty and will give her snacks for a week. She's trying to feed her babies and isn't give many choices. It's twisted and sad. And I'm going to sleep. Sorry for the typos.
  12. Listen to you Kathy...I had no idea that's what you did! Very cool indeed. And very true. It will be a sad day when I'm slapped down...I expect it will happen sooner or later.
  13. HP Sent you email with the info...
  14. C, Yikes I left you off the list. I'm sorry. I knew I was going to forget someone. It's because you are so quiet these days. I'm sorry. You all this is Turler=C=Carol. She's an Ohioan too. And yeah, we don't talk much about having the band in as much as we are kind of used to living with them...but not a day goes by that I forget it's there...Oh there are times I wish I could. But that's how I got big in the first place, but not paying attention to what I was doing to myself. Anyway, post all you can. We've missed you.
  15. I've got his info if you want to send him a card or call him. I miss him too. He's such a good guy.
  16. Yeah D, Just go swim suit shopping with bright lights and poorly cut suits...you'll get an accurate picture of how you look. I'm holding out a verdict on what my goal weight will be until after PS. I want to see 150 before it, so I'll be around 140 when it's done, I figure I can still lose 10 pounds after and be okay. For real, my highest weight that was recorded was 338. I know I was closer to 350. That's 165 pounds that I've stretched this skin around that is not there now. It will be 200 when I go for PS consult. I was really quite big and my skin tells that story. I know what you mean, if someone showed me what I'd be looking like now back in the heyday of eating and gaining, I'd not have changed, I'm sure. Scared Fat wouldn't have worked on me.
  17. D, The bumps, I mean itty bitty pimples we rode in Indiana were kicking his ass. He trained only in flat Florida. I understand hills on Trikkes are hard. But I've seen people ride them on hills in KY and souther Ohio which have the foot hill of the Apalachian. I've got class tonight so no riding for me. I took a spinning class and I'm drenched.
  18. ONEDERLAND!!! Awesome going there D. I thought I was the only one who had to see a number twice to trust it. I never change it back though if the scales goes up. NEVER. What size/poundage do you plan on calling goal? Is PS in your future?
  19. Hey HP is older than me by 4 months. I'm just sayin' KY, Great post. Nerf Bike, I love it!
  20. NO really, you're the Whore. Well not really, we know you're a good girl. You just talk a lot of smack.
  21. We heart you DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD And I still love me a potato here and there. Baked with sourcream is the favorite all time....
  22. You should eat before, just so you don't pass out from lack of calories. Think about being active at the pool and baking in the sun. The Protein Water is a good choice for when you are at the pool, but it's important to fuel your body. That's my opinion.
  23. All that I can say is ignor the head hunger and very deliberately do what you should do. Drink your Water, measure your food, stay away from simple carbs. IT does become second nature at a point. The head hunger does slip away too. good luck.
  24. Corn... You crack me up. I laughed out loud. LOL even.
  25. Don't you know that we on the eastern part of the midwest or the western part of the east coast think there is NOTHING between Illinois and the Pacific Ocean? It's like you have Chicago then Seattle. Nothing in between.
