  1. It it slowly. No drinking. The quanitity will vary.
  2. Thanks, I want to update my siggy with new numbers but the scale's not moving! Maybe I should eat less... I heart your sleeveless dress that you're wearing in your pic.
  3. I stop nearly just before I eat and I wait an hour after. Works for me.
  4. Dude, I had to look up BJJ. Youtube had a cool video. Looks like your band should be safe. I think the biggest fear would be taking a jab in the port, but punching doesn't look a part of it. Congrats on the weight loss.
  5. Do a little at a time. Take a Vitamin a day. That's very little effort and is a positive step. Move a little more, eat a little better. Have a plan, like you'll do 10% more every week. YOU CAN DO THIS!!!
  6. Hi Marchies! Janine, Thanks. Zumba is a good workout. Watch out that you don't get too sexy too fast. Gwen, You keep on. Those 8 pounds will be off in a minute. Tab, Thoes are lofty goals. If you control that lunch you'll be well set mentally to control the drinks. You can do it! Hey Carol! Jeni, My girl, I'm going to be in Chicago the 19-21st. Really Joliet most of Saturday and Sunday. But on Friday I might be able to swing a meeting. How might that work? PM me! I've worked out 3 days in a row. My food yesterday was something to be proud of. No sweets and no simple carbs. Also no huge portions. I'm shooting for one pound a week. XO!
  7. I'm not a teen, but this is something we all have to deal with. What you might try is talking to them about how to talk about your WLS. It goes something like this, "You know I'm having WLS. I'm going to have all kinds of changes going on. Of course I'll want to talk about with you, but I don't know if you'll want to hear about it. What's the best way to do that? Do you want to tell me if I'm going on too much?" Or some such thing. Good luck.
  8. I have the best insurance company, ever. Really, they are on the ball and I've got a huge hanging messy stomach which needs to be removed. It's hard to deny the truth in the nakkit picutes of me they sent.
  9. Monday I did spin. Yesterday I did go to the gym and workout before heading to Cincinnati. But yesterday I ate a buffet. Why? Because I let someone else pick the spot. I want to say I didn't overeat, but I did. I had some serious Desserts too. Notice the s on the end of that. But today is a new day. I'm back in the game. I'm eating veggies and Protein. I'm drinking my Water and tea. I'll be in the gym at 3:30. Today is strength training with only 20 minutes of cardio. Chest and tris. The PS in Cincy, is my choice, I'm nearly 100% sure. I like what he had to say, his confidence too. He didn't suggest breast implants. He said, "You like the size of your breasts, right?" and I replied, "as a matter of fact I do." But he will revise my reduction because I have weird tissue on the side and they have bottomed out. He said his TT and lower body lift will enhance my thighs to the point that I probably won't need to have them done. So there you go. Now I need to find 20K to get it all done. I don't think my sugah baby is going pay for it, but that would be a dream. Also, I have to lose 20 by April. I just do for my own sake. He's fine with my weight where it is.
  10. What's done is done. Chances are pretty high your band is just fine. You didn't do any damage. The goal now is to stop doing damage. Stop eating crap and start eating like you know you should. --I'm talking to myself too here.--Beating yourself up now isn't going to you any good, in any way. So stop it. Now make a plan for tomorrow and stick with it. You can do this!
  11. It's time to toss the left overs out or freeze them! By all means stop eating them!
  12. Mine sits in the top roll of my saggy skin, in the muffin top, or more like portobella top that sits above the waist of all my pants. I would like it lower. It will get replaces with a low profile port when I have plastic surgery in the spring. I'm going to see if they can move it lower at that time .
  13. I'd say think about one thing at a time. Get banded and do what you need to do to be as successful as possible with that. As you get closer to goal assess the situation. If you think you need PS at that point, pursue it. Good luck.
  14. When I had a brest reduction I took off two weeks. I could have gone back to my desk job after a week, but it was nice to have the second week off, for kicks.
  15. You'll do well. You can't go back and exercise, so don't fret about what could have been. Focus on the now and the future. Be calm.
  16. To quote myself. I'm not running. I was given an over time opportunity which I'm going to take! I think Cinder was the only other one planning on going.
  17. I agree with Niki, It's a blessing not to be able to eat all the junk coming at you this holiday season. You're friends either don't know the pain of being obese or are obese and are not ready/don't want to change. Seeing you do it, regardless of when will cause them to question you. Just stick to your guns. They really want what's best for you. And frankly, if they are bugging you too much, ask them if they think questioning you is what's best for you, and then explain to them your resolve. I'd follow that up with a request to help you maintain your resolve, not to break it down. Best of luck.
  18. I think having a plan is a good idea. I'm trying to be really good all the other times so when I slip at a party it won't be on top of general bad eating. Add exercise if you can. Drink plenty of Water. At the party you are hosting make sure you have plenty of good for you food. At the other parties, eat before you go and establish limits on what you'll eat while you are there. And remember it's about being with people and the spirit of the season. It's not about FOOD!
  19. Jeni and Tab, My challenge is to work out consistently and not give in to other pressures, like home work or socializing. I tell myself I'll hit the gym hard once school is finished but that's still 4 months away. I can do better. Today is spin class. Tomorrow is a run in the morning. Wednesday, Thursday and Friday are gym days. I'm going to take Saturday or Sunday off, maybe. Perhaps I'll just do cardio...I'm working all weekend and there's a gym next to my work area. Really, my office shares a wall with it. Also, I want to drink my Water and get rid of sugar again. So those are my three. Water, no sugar and working out. I would so like to lose another 20 pounds before April when I have surgery. But I've been saying that forever. I really need to buckle down.

I've been toying with the idea of a 10K myself. I ran my first 5K in February and all year long, I've been saying 10K, 10K, 10K. Please keep us posted. I love the idea of traveling to run too. I know others who've done that with marathons. It really does motivate you!
  21. Hi Tabathian Welcome! I hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving. I did pretty well with the meal but the Desserts got me! But that's okay. Well I'm guessing that's okay. My scale's battery is dead and I've not replaced it as I should. Part of me thinks taking a break from the daily weighing is fine. I go Tuesday for the second opinion for plastic surgery on the skin. I keep going around in my head about waiting until I'm smaller, but because I was big-which is not reflected in my ticker, I was 350# 10 years ago, I have copious skin. But my schedule doesn't really allow for me to wait that much longer either...I hope to have a new job in the summer. I can't see saying, "Hello, does insurance cover this and may I have a month off to recover?" Any way, I let you know what the surgeon says after this consult. I hope he's no better than the one I've already seen, because he's an hour and half away. I'd rather keep it local. Have fun holiday shopping.
  22. I hope everyone has a good holiday and enjoys the time and people around them. I know I will. Feeling very blessed. Juli
  23. I've got to update the blog, it's lapbandaid.blogspot.com though.
  24. I'm looking at a belt lipectomy with a incision from the brest bone down. He is pulling my butt up and my back skin down. Also the incision from the breast bone down is to remove the copious excess skin on my upper abdomin. My all time highest weight was 350, I have oodles of skin. There's a mons lift in there too. Plus I'm having my arms done at the same time. God willing. Like I said I don't mean to bore you all here with the details. I might do like the other folks do and start a thread about my plastics. I'm not sure though...maybe just keep it in my blog. XO
