  1. Hi all, happy new year. I had my band done in Belgium under Dr Chris De Brunye, all went very well. At the time of surgery we didn't know I was about 4 weeks pregnant. So when we did find out at around 7 weeks I cancelled the fill I had planned. And I didn't have any fills at all. Well, in November we had a beautiful healthy son and I'm now going to start my weight loss journey. I have a 1st fill booked for this Sunday (there's a woman who comes to your home to do it, at a cost of £125). But I am really nervous, probably over nothing but it worries me that my band won't work as it should - due to pregnancy and normal eating throughout. I'm also unsure of what stage of weaning I should start on, do I need to start as if I am newly post surgery? I don't suppose there's anyone else in a similar situation of being pregnant when newly banded and having 1st fill 9+months after surgery? Thanks
  2. Hey all, no I wasnt tested before the surgery, we were all asked if we could be pregnant. We all said no, I have PCOS so I couldnt possibly be pregnant. And I didn't think I was at all. Yes I have had sex since surgery, but I havent had a period since end of Feb so that would equate to around 7 weeks gestation, going by the first day of my last period. I don't normally skips periods, they tend to vary though. We dont have such a thing as an OBGYN to go see (I'm in the UK), we have to go through the general doctors surgery, the pregnancy has to be confirmed and you go for there. I called yesterday but they can't fit me in yet.
  3. I think I must have been pregnant before I had my band fitted.
  4. Hi, I got banded just over 2 weeks, I've also had PCOS for about 10 years, so fertility has been zilch. I know that I am a couple or so weeks late with my period so decided to do a test today. I did 2, and they are both positive. God knows how this could have happened (apart from the obvious lol) because I can't get pregnant. I must have already been pregnant when I had my band, this has worried me somewhat after having a GA and x rays etc I'm in a long term loving relationship and I havent told him yet, hell Ive only know for an hour! But I know he doesnt want children of his own, he gets on great with my 12 yr old and his 3 neices/nephews he adores and vice versa. I'm terrified. And I dont know what to do. I'm semi convinced the 2 tests must be wrong, but I'm a scientist by trade, and I know they are correct.
  5. Christ, I'm 16 days post op and have no problems with bread. I feel almost cheated at this
  6. Hi all I'm 9 days post op, and oh boy I am utterly freezing! I am having the most insane temperature swings. I feel so cold that even the other day which was lovely 20 degrees C I was wearing a pile of clothing, covered up in bed shivering and had piled on 2 blankets. I'm like this almost all of the time, I'm wearing thick clothing in bed at night and also a thick wool fleecy dressing gown. Then occasionally I feel steaming hot, and throw all the bedding and clothes off. Only to be freezing again 10 minutes later. My other half feels my skin and tells me I am red hot, and that the room is red hot too. Anyone else experience this? Is it a post op/GA thing? I don't feel unwell so I'm not sure I have a post op infection.
  7. My hubby doesnt want me to have the band, he doesnt think I need it and utterly loves all my lumps, bumps and wobbly bits just as they are. Which means we have a really good sex life, because we both fancy the pants of each other and are happy with how the other person looks naked. So I dont think a band would increase our libido as such because it's already pretty high, but I think for me it will make me feel a whole heap sexier so perhaps it will up mine a bit more? Poor hubby, he's already knackered before work!
  8. Bugger it I'll reply also. It feels nice. I like it. However my partner doesnt, he and I did it once (at my suggestion) and he said it was ok but he much prefers the proper way. To him it feels 'too hard' inside and just not as pleasant as the vagina.
