  1. Hi there, I was banded last year. Last year March, I weighed 441 lbs and could barely walk half a city block. It was horrible. Now 13 months after my banding, I am able to walk for a few miles. I am not embarrassed to be seen outside and even on a bad day, I feel better than I've felt in years! This was by far the best thing I've done in 20+ years. I love the way I feel now and what i am able to do. I am able to play my guitar again without my stomach getting in the way. Life is so much better =)
  2. hi all I also love Leslie. She helped me get the ball rolling with my exercise program. I starting my journey at 441 lbs. It was tough at first but just stick with it and you will see results. I would also only exercise in my home too. I was to embarrassed to go outside. That feeling has gone away as I've lost weight. just broke 200lbs lost earlier this week. Don't hesitate to shoot me a PM if you have any questions. Craig
  3. I'm also interested in hearing what other people know about this too. Lach
  4. Like Happy2Lose, I am also doing 1000 calories a day. Self imposed but it is helping my weight loss. Lots of good information here, but make sure you are being safe and getting the proper nutrients. Craig
  5. sounds good. Do you know the nutritional info so I can log it? Craig
  6. I bought this book after my operation and I highly highly recommend it. I have been eating out of it almost every night. I think this is something every person who has the operation should have. I picked it up on Amazon. I cant rave about it enough. Craig
  7. HI there I understand what you mean about getting bored with mushies. I was the same way. Something that I tried was the blenderized tuna or chicken. I was really apprehensive about it but it wasnt bad and still kept the same flavor. Also try cream of wheat or mashed potatoes. If you like yogurt that can also go down well too. hope that helps and congrats on your recent banding =) Lach
  8. LazyLoops - That is great that you reward yourself like that. I bet it must taste awesome =) It's nice to be able to look forward to a yummy food like that.
  9. JulieM I can so relate to what you are saying. At least we can eat with our family and friends there and still make healthy choices
  10. When I go there I get their egg beaters and turkey sausage. I find that works for me and its something I know I can eat when I'm out.
  11. Padanelle You can locate them here. BB Vitamins | Bariatric Vitamin supplements and Gastric Bypass Vitamins Have a great holiday :smile2:
  12. Love Unjury! It's a constant item in my weight loss journey. The unflavored is good to add protein to just about anything and the chocolate it so good! Its like having some nestle's chocolate quick if you use vanilla soy milk. Even with just plain water its good too =)
  13. Thanks Anne! I will have to try making my own crispy tortillas. It sounds like it would be really really good. I will have to try it this weekend. I agree that Sabra is the best brand. Wonderful flavors etc. Jlray - If you've never tried it, certainly do yourself a favor and try it. I think you will be very pleased with it. Most grocery stores typically have it. Certainly go and ask for it. Let us know what you think of it :smile Craig
  14. Luluc How do you make yours? I would also be interested in how you do this. Thanks craig
  15. Thanks everyone for the great tips! I agree with you Mindy, I am trying to stay away from bad carbs like you are. For the most part I eat a pretty low carb diet. I am on solids. I am about 10 weeks out. Dont want to go against my Dr's and Nutritionist orders. I haven't tried it with veggies yet. I will try that. I typically have hummus about every night, just dont want to the guilt from the wraps. I will try the veggies tomorrow. Thanks for all the great advice everyone =) I appreciate it. Craig
