  1. Yes, when the site is down, we all go into withdrawal!! Congrats on the vacation weight loss!! How was the airplane ride?
  2. I got a card from my hospital/surgeon that says the name of the hospital on it and pretty much the same info that the card linked above does. My nutritionist signed it. I haven't had to use it yet, but I'm glad I have it. Every children's menu I've seen so far has been full of pasta and deep fried foods, so I usually order fish and bring home enough for one or two more meals.
  3. My favorite used to be Orville Smart Pop Kettle Corn - it's 97% FF...I have been a chicken and haven't tried popcorn since my surgery. I'll have to do that soon. It sounds so good!
  4. Other ideas for something to do while watching tv... Cross Stitch, Crochet, Needlepoint, scrapbook, stamp cards (you can pull up a small table or tv tray right in front of you), if you're wireless and on a laptop you can surf the web during commercials, read magazines during commercials (then you can finish articles sooner than you would a book), or read a book during commercials, too. Journal your journey, balance your checkbook, I could go on and on. Good luck to you!
  5. I have been trying to eat to the point of satisfaction, and not trying to get to "full" if that makes sense. My stomach will growl if I'm hungry. I'll drink some water, and if it continues I eat something. I also try and wait the 20 minutes to see if I am in fact "full" or "satisfied". I have found that my head hunger has subsided quite a bit.

Second update for Friday Goals I rode my bike for 30 minutes and I met my 60 grams of Protein for the day. Goals for Saturday: 1) Mid-week weigh allowed 2) Drink water 3) Ride bike for at least 30 minutes before company comes for the day 4) Choose something sensible for dinner when ordering with company
  7. My goal for Christmas is to be comfortably in my 2X's...I'm just getting into my 3X's now. I have a big wardrobe waiting for me to wear!!
  8. My family knows, my close friends know, and about 6 people at work know. I have had the summer off and go back to work on Monday - I work at a middle school as a secretary for a principal. I don't look anything like I did when I left at the end of June, so I'm sure I'll get comments and maybe questions. I am usually one that doesn't keep much to myself. I have a co-worker that had the band three months before me and everyone pretty much knows about him. I'm not ashamed and know I made the right decision. This band is saving my life and I'm pretty sure I'll be turning into some sort of cheerleader for the band in the future
  9. Welcome to LBT, Ann! Sounds like you've been through quite an ordeal. As much as we hear about all the successful experiences with getting the band, we have to remember it doesn't go so smoothly for all. It sounds like you're on the right track again, though. I've heard it said many times here - listen to your body...when you're truly hungry, eat something, and if you're not, don't. Make sure to get your protein and drink lots of water. Sounds like you're on the right track with your exercising. There is a great Food thread here that you can get a lot of great ideas for meals. And if you need support, you're in the right place Good luck to you
  10. Congratulations and welcome to Bandland, RLE!! So happy to hear your surgery went well.
  11. Good luck with the fill on Monday, Molly! Looks like you're used to getting them You're doing great, too!

Update on my goals for today - Drinking water - Up to 48 oz so far Did NOT get on the scale About to go ride my recumbant bike
  13. Congrats to you Telly on the new undies! Have a great trip "P'Nuts" - your story of your trying on the jeans totally cracked me up!!
  14. Way to go, Paul! Have a great time shopping...I can't wait for the day when I don't have to go to Catherine's anymore You've done a phenomenal job! Make sure to post a picture in your new threads!

Great idea! My challenge for myself for tomorrow (Friday) is to 1) Ride my recumbant bike for 30-45 minutes 2) Drink my Water 3) Meet my 60g of Protein requirement 4) Do not get on the scale
  16. I'm definitely interested, too! Please keep us posted.
  17. I crush my pills and take them with liquid x-strength tylenol. I tried Tylenol Arthritis once and the second of the two pills must have turned sideways and I felt like it was stuck. Anything that is not extended time release can be crushed.
  18. Good question, NatesMommy... You can be gaining muscle - converting fat to muscle - and your weight might not move...so it's entirely possible I would think. If anyone knows the real answer, I'd be curious, too.
  19. I haven't had any problems with chicken at all - in fact I'm cooking some right now. I bake it in apricot preserves and Russian dressing and it's so GOOD!!
  20. I've started to just weigh on Wednesdays (the day I record) and on Saturday mornings for a sneak peak. I always weigh in the same place right after I get up and go to the bathroom. I know it's hard, but maybe try not to get on the scale quite so much...you're doing awesome...it will come off
  21. I reached twoterville last week! It's a great feeling  and this morning solidified it by the scale saying 291.6!! If I could jump up I'd yell wow, what a feeling like the Toyota commercial! Congrats to all who have entered and good thoughts and support sent your way to those on your way!!
  22. Congratulations to you!!! What a great feeling! You should be so proud of you! I'm just hitting under 300, so I can wait to join you in your success!
  23. Good luck to you Dawg! I sense a great NSV in your future!
  24. My WW scale is 3 lbs less than the doctor's scale, yet they have me at 4 more pounds down than I count because they go from the date I met the surgeon (4/24/06) and I go by my first day of fasting (6/21/06) so I am down 40.6 here at home and 44 at the doc's office. I am going by my scale and weigh every Wednesday. That's great that your scale matches theirs!
  25. Maybe you need to do a more aerobic exercise. Yoga is great, but it doesn't really get your heart rate up to burn calories and fat. You must have at least 20 minutes of continuous exercise (and in that time you are just burning sugar) and anything after that you start to burn fat. Walking outside or on a treadmill, biking (I use a recumbant bike because I have arthritis in my knees so bad), an eliptical machine if you can handle that sort of thing. I was told the way to get the most bang for my buck, so-to-speak, was to drink lots and lots of Water and exercise. The band already helps you with portion size, so the other two things is what you should work on. You should also make sure to get enough Protein. If you don't have enough, you won't loose as much either. If you don't already, go to FitDay.com and start tracking what you're eating and your exercise and by seeing the picture in front of you, you might be able to figure out what you need to do differently to lose better. Hope this helps
