  1. I love Friday weigh ins! i started at 221, pre op 214, and now 209. No changes all week. Talk to everyone on Friday!
  2. Hope you are feeling better!
  3. Too Funny!!! :smile2:
  4. I am 1 week post op and still having gas pains. How long is it supposed to last?
  5. What kind of protein are you using? I eat the Unjury and it really does taste good, except for the strawberry. I used skim milk and then kept busy to redirect my mind, also not easy. I am 1 week post op still eating them. It isn't easy, my family eats all kind of great food around me. Hang in there!
  6. What made you decide to go to the sleeve after the band? Just wondering.
  7. Congrats. I was banded a week ago April 10th. I had only minor pain and went back to work on Tuesday. Last night I started having shoulder gas pains, I am surprised it took six days. I am excited for what the furture holds. Feel better!

I thought I was in the clear with gas pains being I was 6 days after surgery. That is until last night, when it all seems to hint my, my shoudler has been killing me. I haven't had to take my pain meds until last night. I am surprised by the delay. Once I eat anything it starts hurting even more. AAHHHHH

I stayed at the hopsital one night and was dicharged yesterday. It was a good thing I stayed, I was dehydrated after surgery and had to have extra bags through my IV. Very happy that was the only minor happening. If I hadn't stayed it would have been a lot harder to get hydrated at home, when two to four sips make you feel completly full. My husband stayed with me, he was great! I am sore but not in a lot of pain, with is good. I had two surprising moments during my expreince. One was in the OR right before they gave me a shot to relax, I was thinking what the heck am I doing, this is crazy. I was completly excited until that point. I was out shortly then woke up in recovery, very sleepy. The second was the day of discharge, I hadn't gotten lunch yet and my husband brought his lunch back to the room, in case they released me soon. The smell of his french fries were just too much. I started to cry, thinking what in the world did I do. :w00t: I have eaten my share of french fries. I shouldn't feel that way. I felt better after I got my broth and jello. I think my major problem was a lack of sleep. I came home and went to bed. I haven't felt that way since, but I am sure I will have other moments, during this path to a healthier life. I am looking forward to feeling closer to normal. I have to allow myself time to heal, waiting can be really hard for me.

  13. I created my ticker, then copied the BBHtml, and then pasted it into my signature. Hope this helps!
  14. Good Luck! I go in Friday at 7:30am. It seems so close but so far away. I have heard the more you walk the faster the gas pain goes away. Did that work for anyone?
  15. Were you able to work full days? I am getting banded on Friday and will be going back to work on Monday. Everyone has been saying it will take a week, but I really don't have a week to be away from work. Thanks!
  16. I should add I am having the lap band procedure. I would push for the lapband instead of GB. It is your decision!
  17. I just completed my Pre op testing. It included blood work, chest x-ray, and an EKG. My freind just had the Gastric Sleeve and had to have a scope prior. I am only 3 days away.

  20. Congraulations!!!!!!!!! It seems so much more real when you have a date. At least it does for me. Anyway Congrats on your date!
  21. Does the Welch dark berry drinks have artificial sweetners? I can't stand the taste and a little worry that I will only have plain water and tea.
  22. I am glad to hear other people have done it before. I have scheduling issues at work and cant be gone. If I hadn't taken this date, I would have had to wait until May. I just wait to dive in and get through the first 6 weeks of post-op ASAP. I will let you know how I do.
  23. I going to sound like a whiner. I have BCBS and the process really did move forward quickly. The snag I had was my PCP. He outsourced my chart being copied and it took almost 6 weeks of chsing them. The first few weeks the company didn't come in to make the copies. Then when they made the copies they sent them to Altanta, I live in Michigan, and mailed me a bill to pay them $29.18 for the copies before they would send them to the suergeon. Once I paid online the very da I rec'd the invoice they snail mailed it to the suergeon. So, with the whole process of 6 and half weeks I shouldn't complain. It really depends on your insurance company.
  24. I finally have a date!! April 10th. 16 days!!! I can't wait, I am so excited. Yesterday I thought I would have to another 3 - 5 weeks, then today I have an April date! I am very excited!! Has anyone gone back to work, a desk job, 3 days after surgery? :huh2::eek::heart::eek::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:
  25. How long before everyone went back to work? I have a desk job. Waiting what feels like forever for a suegery date, trying to plan out a little. Thanks for any feedback!
