I regularly had smoothies/milkshakes etc... my favorite..was low fat milk, banana, tsp honey, tsp malt, all blended together until smooth... but I also blended bananas/yoghurt/orange juice together to make a great smoothy... :xena_banana: becky

  9. Hi Blownaway...Welcome I think you are doing the right thing by including your mom in on a consult with the doc...she might have a lot more peace once her questions get answered...but regardless I suggest you listen to her concerns...weigh them and then decide what is best for YOU and your health.. :xena_banana: becky

  11. juliegeraci Wow! you are doing soooo well. Don't be discouraged...they say loosing the weight slower means more chance of you keeping it off... Although I have lost 84 kgs alltogether only 46lb has been post lapband surgery and I had lapband surgery in October 05 that is almost 14 months ago... As long as the scale is staying put or going down you don't have anything to worry about...just enjoy your new found lease on life...and the excitement of seeing the gradual body/shaping changes. :xena_banana: Becky
  12. Carlene...very nice you go girl! I like the gauchos...very 'in' :xena_banana: becky
  13. Terrilean I know its hard to stop a habit (ie eating frostys) but why not replace that for something that is a bit more healthy...Find something healthy that you like and stick with it...thats what i do.... :xena_banana:

  16. Suzy yes it is hard...there are a whole heap of lifestyle changes to be made with a lapband... but think back to why you are doing this? If you want a healthier, happier, more fulfilled life then battle through...the results far outway the sacrifices made to get there...We have all been there and felt what you are feeling but we battled through...lived to tell the tale and now...well, the fruit is in the puddin or so to speak... If you need come back to LBT daily...read through the running totals of people that have lost weight on this forum...PM/Email or MSN me at any time when you need encouragement...we are ALL here to help you through this...so that when you get to where alot of us are now...you will beable to say the same thing to a lapband newbie who is experienceing then what you have gone through now...Live each day as it comes...make the best decision that you can in that day...cause you have always got tomorro...and the next, and the next and the rest of your long/healthy life. :xena_banana: Becky
  17. Sorry to hear of your Disillusionment but perhaps that is a good thing...your eyes have now been opened so that you can realistically see the pros and cons and that lapband is not an easy/quick fix...For me it was a life saver and I don't regret it for a moment...best wishes on your decision making. :xena_banana: Becky
  18. Joyce Burg I was saddened to hear of your current difficulties/challenges...if you ever want someone to chat to...track me down you can PM/Email/MSN or whatever...I am here for you if you want to chat. Best wishes Becky :xena_banana:
  19. Hi Zannie I had my surgery in October 05...I have had 4 fills since...still am not at my 'sweet' spot yet so still get a bit hungry quicker... I eat the usual a couple of pieces of toast for breakfast a pita bread with a bit of cheese for lunch and Meat and vegetables (well cooked) for tea...I don't eat red meat cause it is a bit harder to chew into the small bits you need to get it comfortably through the band but i enjoy chicken/fish/pork etc....I still can eat more than most prob 1 cup instead of the recommended half a cup but that may change on my next fill... overall I am loosing weight slowly and loving the lapband... Best wishes Becky :xena_banana:
  20. Welcome Wendy... Good luck with your insurance approval... Keep us posted. :xena_banana: becky
