  1. i am a proud single mother of two gorgeous kids...i would love to have more if the right 'man' came along...i don't believe in contraception... However, I wouldn't go so far as to have any more than 4 kids... I know my body pretty well so although I don't believe in contraception I know when and when not to do the 'deed' depending on risk... Becky
  2. typically african...my babies hang like sacks...i would love a breast lift but will probably need an implant as well to make them 'perky'... things to look forward to...
  3. Welcome Chris You're still young so 'heres to the rest of your life'...Congrats on taking the first staps and a new beginning to a healthy lifestyle. We look forward to hearing of your progress on LBT

The Biggest Looser has migrated to Australia as well and is very popular...I love it...the female fitness instructor is a bit of a hardarse (tough). but I guess she get results...Gosh they do so many exercise challenges....i think I would absolutely die if i had to put my body what they do each day... hat off to them they are wonderful to do what they do and on live tv. :0
  7. LOL MarySue33...they are hilarious! Well done!
  8. sherilynnn you take one day at a time... thats how you mentally prepare... It sounds like you have put everything in place physically but mentally...hey we all know anything can happen at any time...hard to plan on these things...but one day at a time you always have tomorro to rectifye the mistakes you made today... Best Wishes Becky
  9. Welcome Lucy I have had my lapband for over a year now and am a very satisfied customer... the complications are against the norm...I know many other fellow lapbanders that have had a great experience with lapband...I suspect (touch wood) that you wont be any different...sure there are risks but hon there are risks in anything...This is your opportunity to turn your life around...your existance as you know it...I don't regret it and I sincerely hope that you wont either... best wishes. Becky
  10. I cant say i have tried these...dont know if they have come to NZ yet...will have to keep an eye out... Becky
  11. Yep happened to me I was starving...still am actually...it helps when you have your fill but don't expect miracles it might take 2 or three fills before you feel sufficiently full/restricted. best wishes Becky
  12. Mindy thanks for sharing with us..all the best things come late i reckon...the bride comes late, the phonecall comes late, the mail comes late, it always seems like that cause we're all sitting around twiddling our phumbs waiting... when your lapband does come even if a bit late it will be soooo worth it... keeps us posted.
  13. Welcome Denny Best of luck in your investigations...we look forward to seeing your progress on LBT..
  14. hehehe...not crazy just adventurous...Welcome to LBT...keep us posted on your progress!! We all started off as nervous...so your among friends!
  15. yes I have a couple of these pictures on my personal website...http://www.thelightersideoflarge.com...you may have seen them there...and I am using the 'head' off one of them for my avatar!!!
  16. yea I would agree with the others...it should be ok. but they do need to know just in case the anesthetic/morphine they use could react in some way to the antibiotics...
  17. I have two small scars and 1 medium scar just above my belly button left over from the surgery...they don't look too bad and have certainly faded over time...I cant even see the needle points from all my fills....but I don't think I will ever be a bikini wearing girl so for me it was a small price to pay for and all over better body and healthier lifestyle...
  18. I know how you are feeling...cause when I told my best friend her displeasure was quite intense...you see she had lost her weight through jenny craig and had always been adament that i do it the same way as her...when i told her i was going to have lapband...her comment 'thats a bit extreme isn't it' ...It was really hard at every point she would try and talk me out of it, dropping hints that Jenny Craig had this 50% off deal and so forth...when I finally told her my surgery date it was like 'oh...so you are going to go through with it.' I could have throttled her. but fortunately i moved away soon after and don't have to deal with her that much anymore...lapband certainly put a sort of a distance between us...but I HAD to do this for ME and no-one else...and now I don't really care what she thinks cause hey regardless of how I have lost weight that is my goal so you would think she would be happy for me too...but hmmm still the uncomfortable silence.
  19. Hi everyone...well my story...I found out two weeks after my youngest child was born that my husband (of 4 years) has been having an affair with one our mutual friends...for the last 4 years also. He basically had two families (although her kids were not his biologically) for all this time...He had been giving me the raw end of the deal; resenting me, ranting at me treating me like a doormat, and had no consideration for me and his two beautiful kids, for so long now that when I found out he was also involved with another woman and was probably giving the best of himself to her...I was OUT OF THERE! we have been separated a year now...and I have changed, and grown, and developed so much self confidence since it is not funny!!! I am loving just being with the kids. I am starting a small business, I am doing things now I never dreamed possible. And on top of that i am loosing weight and looking fantastic... I cant wait to loose even more and stick it up him what he missed out on... Well good riddens I say...good riddens to men who don't appreciate the jewels that are in their own homes.
  20. Yay! congrats, congrats, congrats... and so it begins.... keep us posted on a surgery date.
  21. I have always been big...cause I am big boned...(roll eyes) and love my food! However I became morbidly obese because of a condition called hypothyroidism...basically when I eat it gets stored on my body, in preparation for a famine... instead of burning up in energy... basically I got tired all the time, and didn't have energy for anything.. Sat on the couch eating basically...fortunately I was diagnosed 3 years ago as having it and have been on medication every since...and will be on medication for it for the rest of my life...so the lapband is remove the lbs of lard that I have put on as a result.
  22. Welcome thiyekhile Unfortunately i don't personally know of any dr's in SA but I just wanted to drop by and welcome you to LBT... Best of luck with your search...keep us posted on your progress.
  23. The one that irritates me is that after lapband you will never 'feel' hungry again... God I am so hungry most of the time...just cant eat much when i do eat!
  24. yep I agree with lisa25 if you are in a good spot...enjoy it...if you are worried about wanting to loose more weight...why not up the exercise... becky
  25. Wow what a gorgeous baby...congrats! And to get into it so quickly after childbirth...brilliant. You are truly committed...I know quite a few that would have given themselves a year off... becky
