Surgery date coming closer and closer

Hello all,

This is my first time here after being referred by a fellow patient at my clinic.

I am getting my lapband on Wednesday December 13th and am half excited and half nervous.:omg:

My doctor is Dr. Cobourne at the THE SURGICAL WEIGHT LOSS CENTRE

in Toronto, Ontario.

I have been on Optifast for almost 3 weeks and have had a few slips due to my hamburger addiction.:think

I have just booked a trip to Mexico for our winter vacation on January 12 - 18th. I know this is quite soon after my surgery but we are going to a place we've been before and I know the food is great and being that I should be on soft food by then, I should be okay. My mom thinks I'm nuts though.:nervous

Let's all take a vote - am I a crazy canuck or not. Let me know.:clap2:

hehehe...not crazy just adventurous...Welcome to LBT...keep us posted on your progress!! We all started off as nervous...so your among friends!

:)

I didn't fly to Mexico for a vacation a month after---but I flew home from Mexico 2 days after my Lapband surgery!!! I think this is totally possible. I would look into some of the protein powders to take with you so you can keep your energy levels up as you heal. During the flight, take extra precautions, walking, rotating your feet frequently--stay hydrated. Possibly even check into who the closest band Dr. to where you are going would be just in case you need medical help. Now that would be a backwards issue for our site. Looking for a Mexico Dr. to treat a patient banded elsewhere!!!

LOL

Good Luck on your surgery!!! Welcome to LBT!!

Thanks for the help, I should look for a Mexican doctor in Cancun. Maybe my doctor would know.

Deb:faint: (what I hope not to do!)
