December 9, 200619 yr how long did it take you 100plus weight losses to achieve your goal of losing the weight how many months or year???????
December 9, 200619 yr I lost 70 lbs in the first year, and a bit less than 50 in the second year. (I hope that answers your question--it wasn't very clear.)
December 9, 200619 yr I haven't lost 100 yet but I can tell you I lost 50+ in the first 4 months. Hope this helps some.
December 10, 200619 yr I've been a pretty slow loser...I lost pretty well at first and then went thru some major stalls while I readjusted my eating, etc. It has taken me 2 years to lose 100 lbs. But, I can say that before the band I would have lost 85, gained 140, and would have been on my next diet between bouts of hating myself for failing again! I'm SO glad I'm NOT there!!! I have to be honest and say I have had to be patient with myself and that has not been easy. I really thought I'd have all my weight off by now, but that is not the case!
December 10, 200619 yr I cant wait to lose 100...I have lost 84lb in 2 years but only 46lb in the 14months post lapband..guess i am a slow looser too. :xena_banana: becky

December 18, 200619 yr I think I have been lucky. This has worked well for me. I lost 100lbs in about 5 months. Dawn, WOW! Yes, it has worked very well for you! Congrats!
December 18, 200619 yr I have been very lucky to have been a fast looser. I am just over 7 months out and have lost 131 pounds. One more pound to "onederland".
December 19, 200619 yr Sunshine 2, Thanks for your nice comments. Best of luck on your banding!! It really is one of the best decisions I ever made!! After years and years of yo-yoing!!! Dawn Banded April 4, 2006 Montreal
December 19, 200619 yr Are you asking how long it took to lose 100 pounds, or for people who had 100+ to lose - how long for them to reach goal? If it's the former, I think I hit 100 before my 6 months was up. If not it was shortly after. I don't recall offhand, I'd have to go back to my weight logs to know for sure. If it's the latter, dunno, I'm still about 60 - 75 lbs from goal.
December 19, 200619 yr Becca, I started exercising about 3 months after the band. For me I really needed to lose some weight first and then I was able to get moving. I did do yoga even before the band... just to get some mobility going. Now I am on a couch potato to 5km program - I'm on week 2 and so far so good. As well I now do weight training 3 or 4 times a week. So... it started slowly, but yesterday I said to my husband... boy that run felt good... and then I went.... did I just say that? Good luck to you Becca!!!! Dawn Banded April 4th, 2006 Montreal
December 19, 200619 yr My total wt loss goal is 127 lbs. I am sort of a slow loser. So far in 7 months I have lost 38 lbs and I hope by my 1 year bandiversary to have lost 61 lbs. My doctor has told me all along that it would take me 18 months to 2 years to reach goal. Every one is different, but the good news is that the data so far shows that long term wt loss and long term sustained wt loss is more sucessful than GB. Yea for lap-band.
December 19, 200619 yr Wow! Congrats to those who lost that hundred so fast! that's fantastic! I promised myself 100 in a yr and i am 9 lbs away and my anniversary is Feb 7 so i think i will make it. Wait- i KNOW i can make it!
December 19, 200619 yr Now I am on a couch potato to 5km program - I'm on week 2 and so far so good. Delta, is this a real program or what your goal is? I need to start moving soon and I'm not sure where to start. Congrats on the big loss!!!
