    Old bandster needs help!!

Its nice to not feel so alone. I too am an old bandster re-starting. The nice part is that we have the "built" in tool. We just need to use it. Why don't we use each other for support since we seem to know what we're all going through. I too was self pay and feel that I let my family down. I am ready to start over!

I have failed my band - SUPPORT GROUP

Well, I think we can all agree on here that we are emotional eaters. Just like you guys, stress sets me off without even knowing it. I am starting back at work next week after being off for a year at home with my new baby. I'm nervous about going back but excited as well. Maybe this is what I need, to get back into a routine so I'm not thinking about food all day. I have been working out regularly still but my body seems to just crave the sugar. Why is that? It's like an addiction, I have sugar withdrawals. How do I get over that. Any ideas? Please don't tell me will power....or maybe thats all it is?

I have failed my band - SUPPORT GROUP

I can't tell you guys how happy I am to have found this thread! I have been banded since Feb 07 and I am failing my band. I have felt so alone and so stupid! Here I went and spent 16k to lose all this weight and all I have lost is a measly 20lbs. Well I'm not going to let this get the better of me! I am back with a vengence. I know what I am doing wrong so now I need to make it right. Now I don't feel so alone after seeing there are others out there struggling just like me. I know I can do this and I would like to join this group to use at as support. Thank you to all of you who are sharing. I have changed a few habits these past few weeks, I am working out 4 times a week and trying to eat better. My goals for this week are to increase my water intake and eliminate all forms of chocolate from my diet. I have 60lbs to lose to get to my goal. I want this so bad! I hope to get to know all of you on here. Thanks again to all of you courageous enough to admit your weaknesses!
  4. Thank you for posting this realistic post. Weight loss will always require work, even with the Band! But yes we love the Band.

    CIBO Clinic (toronto)

I chose the SWLC because not living in the Toronto area I was concerned about having fills done for me and like Doddie said, SWLC has a great network of Docs willing to fill their patients. Dr. Cobourn flies down and personally trains them as he did here in Edmonton where I am. My fill Doctor is totally comfortable giving fills for SWLC patients but he won't fill for any other Doctor.

    Mexico question

All I can say is please line up your fill Doctor before doing anything, but I tend to agree with Doddie on this.
  7. Well guys, I lost 3lbs! I am thrilled. I will take a couple days off and then do two days again. Glad to see you guys hanging in there. I love this thread!!

    Three years...and starting over.

I hear what you're saying Kate....about subconsciously sabatoging yourself. I think this is what I go through. And I thought I did all the psychological work as to why I emotionally eat but yet my subcoscious takes over.
  14. Well I'm not too savvy in the whole tax area but I worked and claimed my surgery and got $5000.00 back. I believe my acct said about $2500 was from my surgery. But I didn't claim travel or food or anything, just the cost of the surgery. Hope this helps
  15. Thanks guys, I got all the info I need and so far so good!!!

    Anyone from Edmonton?

I think I will be going to the luncheon on Saturday, I'm just looking for a babysitter. Anybody else? I will plan a get together, what time of day and day of week works for most?? Maybe we should meet at a restaraunt so we can reserve a table for us. Ant suggestions? Would downtown work??
  17. Count me in guys!!!!!! I want to see my scale move. But help me cause I've never done Atkins, what do I do for this induction phase??? I was going to try the protein shake and water thing like you did renewedhope. I am ready!!!!!

    Anyone from Edmonton?

Heeeyyyyyy banded Edmontonians!!!!! I'm back after having my baby and definately ready to lose some weight. Nice to see you here again Leslielee!! I would love some local support. Lets set a date and time!!!!
  19. msheavensent i'm right where you are. I just had my li'l girl on April 5th and now I'm starting over. It is really hard but I keep coming to these boards for support and I pretty much pretend like I'm newly banded. I have to remind myself of all the band rules again. I am getting another fill on Thursday and I think I am really close to my sweet spot again. Being on maternity leave makes it harder because I am at home and think about food all the time. I am trying hard to excercise more and drink lots of water. Good luck.
  20. I have to admit that the post op follow up has not been the greatest in terms of support. But when you need help they are there for you. For example, I had a fill on a Thursday before the long weekend (big mistake that you will learn to never do again) and found I was way too tight and had to go back in for a defill on a Saturday and I was able to contact someone right away. The way it works for me is I get my fills done in St.Albert with Dr.Daviduck (he is AWESOME), he will only do fills for Dr.Cobourn or Dr.Mumford's patients, he was trained personally by Dr.Cobourn and knows exactly where Dr.Cobourn places his ports. He charges $75 a fill and will not charge you for a de-fill if needed. I'm not sure why SWLC didn't tell you about Dr.Daviduck.....why drive all the way to Red Deer if you don't have too?? I was defilled from 6cc to 3cc when I got pregnant so I pretty much had no restriction at that point. My overall experience with SWLC has been really good. They are very organized and your surgery will go great. The staff are great. I know how hard the optifast is and I dont' have any advice to make it easier cause I thought it tasted like #$%^. As for PB's, only when I'm too tight. Feel free to message me privately if you have more questions or want to get together for coffee! It's great to have support close by!

    New here and grateful!

Welcome and I'm glad you found us!!! The little bit of extra money is worth the ease of mind of having clinical support close by.

    crying

Yes have to agree, great episode!! Please don't beat yourself up. You are doing great and you will have many more of these moments so it is important to be rational and realize that in the whole picture, it's not really a big deal. Be proud of what you have accomplished.
  23. Hey mommyof4, are you from Edmonton?? I don't see very many Edmontonians hanging around here these days.....I disappeared for awhile and now I'm back on the boards but many of the people from before don't hang out here anymore :blushing:

In a slump and in the dumps...

Froggi, feel free to post whether you are banded or not. Encouragement is wonderful, from the banded and non-banded.

    Argon's Activities

Mandi, I am so sorry for your loss. There is no "right" way to grieve. When I lost my grandma, who was a mother for me, I really only started the grieving process a year later. It was almost like I was in denial. I knew that she died but I wouldn't let myself accept it until I was ready to. I know exactly what you mean about the universes being aligned, thats exactly the way my grandma left. It sure makes you think and it makes you feel good to know that everything has a way of working out. I am so sure she will always be smiling down at you. Take care of yourself and use all of your support systems including us during this time. Lotsa love, Becca
