Thanks you guys, I am definately grieving my loss of food. I am back to work now so that makes it a bit easier. My mind is busy with other things now. I know that I expected to feel these things but somehow I thought it would just be easier for "me". Not so! I am just the same as everyone else, no matter how prepared I was for this sx, I am going through and feeling it all. It will be worth it in the end I am sure. I am down 15lbs this morning!! Thanks all. You guys are the best.

Hi guys, I'm doing great recovery wise, but I am unsure how much I should be eating, I am on full liquids but I feel like I am eating more than I should be. Any ideas? What about calories?

Okay guys, I'm going through the "what have I done to myself" phase today. I miss food! I want to eat! I know that I want this more but it still doesn't take the sadness away. I was so moody all day, I was snapping at my poor little girl for no good reason. And then I drank a McDonalds chocoalte milkshake. I feel sooooo guilty now, like what the hell am I doing to myself. I just spent 16k, this better work but I wonder if I will have the control I need. Sorry guys, I just had to say this, I feel like crying right now.

Hey Donna, welcome! I haven't told anybody except for immediate family and I plan to keep it that way. For me this was a very personal decision and I don't want to have to justify it to anybody. My family has been understanding but they also don't have much of a choice knowing how important this is to me. I have to say that my husband haws been awesome though. Good luck to you!

Hey guys, 1 day post op here and feeling great. Just the tight chest from gas and I slept with a heating pad on my shoulders last night. I am surprised at how well I am moving about. I am so glad everytihng went smoothly.

Hey guys! I made it to the "other" side!! I feel fine except for the upper gas discomfort. Gas X is amazing! You can't neccesarily OD on that can you?? I also have some neck and shoulder discomfort but no pain at the sites so far. Thank you all for yur kind words, well wishes and support. I think I am nervous and excited all in one, I have to admit to you guys that I have really sucked through this whole pre-op diet. I just want to get the surgery done and hopefully get through it with no complications.
