  1. I've done a large chicken chili from taco time. 1/2 cup and I have done fine on it. 2 weeks post-op. Makes 3 meals 4.00
  2. Mine has us do 30 days, but I'm going to ask if I can go to pills tomorrow at my post-op appt. Shhh I took 3 pills so far, they taste so nasty. I'm 2 weeks post op.
  3. Goody, Is your surgery date the 25th? I thought we were the same day? Your profile says the 21st. Hope you are doing well. I'm doing really good and couldnt be happier!
  4. I do 12 oz of fairlife for 19g protein. I'm not drinking protein shakes, because I can't find any I like.
  5. Hi! How far out are you? I'm 2 weeks out today and don't have a lot of energy yet. I went to the bounce house and to the mall yesterday. I was so worn out that I slept for 14 hours last night. I have my 2 week post-op appt tomorrow and plan to ask how long this lasts. Good luck!
  6. I'm 2 weeks post-op today and am already scared. The first week after I thought I would never eat, now I feel opposite, I can eat 1/2 cup of food and I'm afraid I will revert to my old habits. I'm going to my first support meeting tomorrow. Best wishes!
  7. Yes, and that passes. On my 14th day and I can drink water, several chugs, easily. It gets so much better. Give it one more week. I can't wait to hear how you do!
  8. Sneezergirl, I was not allowed to eat anything the first week, only clear liquids. I don't like artificial sweeteners, so, drank just water all week, with a occasional cup of broth. It was the hardest thing I have ever done. On the 6th day I started YQ yogurt. It has 17g of protein. I have tried every protein, but don't like them. I'm now eating beans and chili and fairlife milk, albeit only 1/2 cup at a time. It has chicken in it and I've had no problems. Well what I really wanted to say was, I didn't feel hungry for the first 4 days and all the sudden I was starving. Your 9 days behind me, so should be eating before you know it. Best wishes, Keep us updated!
  9. That looks good! How do you cook it? Also, I was told I would eat about 1 cup eventually. Does this equal about a cup? Not sure about size. I ate 1/2 cup of pureed chili today and that was all I could handle without becoming sick.
  10. I bought chewable. Honestly they're terrible, but I'm getting used to them. I got mine from this site. Good luck!
  11. They lost you with all the iv fluids. It takes awhile to take it off. Give it a week and I bet you will see you are losing. Good luck!
  12. Being over 50 myself, it starts to become imperative to get healthy. Best wishes on your upcoming surgery ???
  13. Just to play devils advocate. My Dr wanted me to do the duodenal switch, but I was adamant I wanted the sleeve. If down the road I decide I'm gaining weight and want to I can do a revision to RNY. I like the fact there is no dumping and no malabsorption. I don't know the statistics on weight gain, but I worked with a girl who had the Rny and she previously weighed 600 lbs, I saw pictures. When I started working with her she weighed 220. By the end of one 1 year she had gained back to 400 lbs. Not sure how this is even possible? So I'm not sure if you can gain with either one? Personally, I don't ever want to he super thin. So, it might be something to think about. If you want to be thin, I think rny offers a better, longer weight loss future. Best wishes. You will do great!
  14. I have lost 30 lbs already. The first week was very hard, but I wouldn't take it back. I'm on my way to a healthier life. Btw I'm 53 and wish I did it 20 years ago. Best of luck with your decision!
  15. I'm 12 days on and weighed the same the 9-11 day. I've lost a lot quickly and I think your body has to catch up. I'm not eating a whole lot, so it has to come offveventally. Don't be discouraged, you're going to start losing again!
  16. Try vitamin water zero or other diet drinks? Good luck!
  17. Do the best you can, anything helps. I know it was difficult to stick to it for a week. Best of luck!
  18. I've heard to softly scramble an egg. Was it maybe overcooked? Also, I wonder if scrambling it with a dash of milk would make it lighter going down?
  19. You look amazing, well done!
  20. How are you doing Mama? I hope you are feeling better!
  21. You look amazing! I aspire to be like you. And, great food! Yummy!
  22. I was sleeved on Feb 25th and I feel like a different person today. Hang in there it will get better.
  23. This is exactly what I felt. I am now out 11 days and can drink a 2 swigs of water now at a time & go for more, with out pain. I'm very happy that the restriction with water is gone. I think it will pass, but maybe check with your Dr. Best wishes.
  24. This is exactly what happened. It was lumpy and I didn't let it stand. O poured milk on it. I don't think I let it stand to expand.
