  1. I'm exactly experiencing the same things. I've hardly lost anything for the last week. I have lost 31 pounds, so hopefully soon I will again.
  2. So tired. Went to the Dr this morning bacause I'm not feeling any energy, in fact it's worse. 17 days post-op. Have had to start metformin & glimeperide again. Forgot to tell the Dr I've had diarrhea since yesterday, so waiting on Dr to call back and see if they want to add more blood work. I'm wondering if I'm dehydrated? I'm lucky to get 45 ounces in. Can't stomach whey protein. Took one sip and started to gag. I may have to go to the hospital at this point. Any ideas?
  3. I felt really terrible at your stage. I stayed on top of my pain meds and it made things a little easier.
  4. I told my grandchildren and showed them pictures. I told them I was doing the operation to be able to do stuff with them that I can't do right now. My granddaughter was afraid to have me come for pumpkin pie at harvest time. She's 6 years old and was afraid someone would tease her about me. It broke my heart. On a separate occasion she inaccuosly called me fat. I broke down in tears. I'm doing this for myself but also for them. It's unfortunate people can be so mean. So I'm not sure how old your kids are, but I think they will understand. My gkids are 6 & 8 and were inquisitive and I answered their questions. I'm 16 days post-op and my granddaughter asks to see my incisions every day still. She knows when grandma's scabs come off, we can go swimming!
  5. I came home 2 pounds heavier. Plus now I'm stalled the last 4 days, but I know it's got to pick back up, because I'm not eating a lot. What's your diet this week?
  6. Also, my blood sugars have been over 200 during the week of clear liquids only. I drank water for one week. I'm not drinking protein. I can't stand any flavors or artificial sweeteners. I'm ok'd to do the fairlife milk and yq as a protein replacement. I got the bars because I'm still not getting enough protein. I did chew it very slowly and ate slow. Pure protein bars.
  7. Yes. I have to blend the meat. And the chili.
  8. I ate a Yq yogurt 1/2 banana 1 protein bar 1/2 cup curried chicken I've been doing beans and chili mostly. I'm only 16 days out.
  9. Yes, but not till the 4th day and I was starving. I drank broth and it helped tremendously. For some reason it goes down real easy for me. Hopefully you don't have to wait a long time to do protein shakes. That should help stave of hunger. I had to wait 1 week and it was so very hard. Good luck!
  10. So, I was told by both my endocrinologist & my surgeon Dr to stop my diabetes meds. I was on metformin 2x 1000mg, glimeperide 2x 4mg and 72 units of lantus at night. I'm 16 days out and my bs is over 200 fasting and after meals. I've gone back to taking metformin & glimeperide till I hear from my Dr. I am eating real food now, but it was high even on just liquids. I'm eating about 1/2 cup of food x4 a day. Has anyone else experienced this? Thank you!
  11. No. I had mine on the 25th. I've weighed the same weight for 5 days and I'm hardly taking anything in. We will both start losing again. Best of luck!
  12. I think you will find everyone is different. Mine took forever. I was approved Dec 17th and I had surgery Feb 25th. The office was on vacation and the Dr had to sign off on it. Then they had to call for a date from the hospital. 4 week backlog. I think my hospital does a high amount of these surgeries. At the seminar there had to be at least 25 people in there. You probably wont have to wait that long and you can always call and ask. I did and they were very understanding of my wanting to know when it would happen. You'll get there. Take care & best wishes on your surgery!
  13. I had a kidney stone and had pain on the same area, however it was the worst pain ever. I hope you figure it out and feel better soon!
  14. I have the same problem with protein. I can't stand the taste or smell of any of mine. Prior to surgery I liked them. I am getting mine in by fairlife milk. 20oz is 19 grams of protein and they also have chocolate, although I just prefer plain. Are you counting your protein as water? My nutritionist said I could count water and protein and that I needed a minimum of 48oz. I've never been a big liquid drinker. I can drink without restriction, but still have trouble getting 48 oz. Best wishes!
  15. I have 2 weeks left and I'm definitely going to take capsules after that. I take bariatric fusion, the orange flavor with iron. The iron in it is what makes it taste so bad. Just gross! I'm going to beg to go to pills. I don't see why I couldn't, tons of people here start pills immediately!
  16. You boil like 2lbs of chicken, shred it. In a few pan you saute some onions and a brick of cream cheese and half a can of the green sauce. It will all melt up, then you add shredded chicken. Season. We roll up in tacos and put cojita cheese on top and bake. The recipe may be on the back of the can. We've been making it for a number of years. I will only blend some of the filing. It's very creamy. You can use lowfat cream cheese.
  17. That's amazing. Great job!
  18. I'm making green tacos tomorrow. My son-in-law is Mexican, so they eat a lot of the food. Not sure if you like green sauce? It's made with chicken. Also, chili is a good high protein choice and it blends good.
  19. I take gabapentin and have had to take the powder out of the capsule. It has the most horrifying taste. My vitamins are terrible, but they seem like a treat after gabapentin. My Dr says I have to crush for 30 days. Tomorrow is my 2 week post-op and asking if I can switch.
  20. I'm allowed pureed food. How about you?
  21. Good! I've lost 30 lbs with my 1 week pre-op diet. I'm on puree and life is so much better. My family had steak sandwhichs and I had just some of the meat and vegetables. I chewed and chewed instead of blending. It stayed down. Woo hoo! Measuring 1/2 cup of food.
  22. Me too. I started puree and it's just better to chew, chew, chew!
  23. Ice cream. I don't care for a lot of sf products, but they have a lot of great ones and cold stone has their sinless and is really good! Good luck with your surgery!
  24. I called frequently, even though it took me 8 months to get my surgery. My office understood and was quite patient. Couldn't hurt to call. Good luck!
