  1. Can I ask how much you take? I'm 5 weeks out from surgery and I've been back of the same med. I'm still having trouble with my stomach feeling upset at times.
  2. I had my appt on July 9th abd surgery February 25th. I had a lot of requirements.
  3. Yes, I gained 8 pounds. He made me do a one week pre-op diet.
  4. Surgery was 2/25 and I have had a tough go, but today I feel 90% better. I had robotic assisted gastric sleeve.
  5. You should try fairlife milk. I agree, I do not like whey, cant stand the smell and makes me gag! Fairlife milk also comes in a chocolate flavor, although I prefer plain. 12 oz will give you 19g of protein. Also, have you tried beans? I got chili at Wendy's and chicken white chili at taco time. I could only do 1/3 of a cup, but I'm getting better at getting close to a half cup. Good luck!
  6. Yes, you will. I'm 30 days out and had the same trouble as you. I started to feel less pain and nausea just recently. Hang in there it gets better!
  7. Mine was approved the same day as it was submitted.
  8. Congrats! I had surgery the same day!
  9. Othella, mine were pretty red, not spreading and my Dr said they were fine. This was at 15 days out. Is your post-op coming up?
  10. I'm just curious to those with low bmi, can you do a surgery in the us with a 35 bmi no co-morbidities?
  11. Yes, very itchy.
  12. I should have stayed 2 nights, I was in so much pain. But they ordered my bed at 30% incline and I'm a side sleeper. I literally could hardly sleep, so I wanted to bust out of there. I slept much better at home, even in tons of pain.
  13. Also, I buy the fairlife. I've been doing 4oz at a time. Trying to get 12oz in today to get 19g.
  14. I think I have felt so nauseous because I barely eat anything and it's a viscous cycle. I've lost 45 lbs in 37 days and has taken a toll on me. Today I've eaten a yogurt, 1 string cheese & just ate 3 shrimp (first time) & I feel quite a bit better. I hope I'm turning a corner, it has been an arduous journey & at times I have questioned it. For today I feel better and out of bed a lot more, with a trip to the store!!
  15. Same as Cheeseburgh. It was up to me, I could have stayed another night, but I wanted to get home to my own bed.
  16. I went to the PA today and she gave me a b12 shot. She thinks I have gastritis and wants me take more anti-nausea pills, which my daughter is out picking up now. Alao, she ordered hydration and uncanny do that 3x a week. She said they will order vitamins in the bags. Anything I eat seems to make me really full. for some reason cheese doesn't seem to give me that feeling, so I will try it at least 1x a day to meet my protein goals.
  17. No. Can you buy a single one?
  18. I'm down 43, but have a long way to go. I see on my machine that my apneas have gone way down. Maybe someday I will get off too? Congrats!!
  19. I just discovered Quest protein chips and they were pretty good and seem to ho down easy, especially now when I'm having troubles. Does anyone have any favorites they can reccomend? Thanks!
  20. I'm not sure but I think that says your husband loves ? you. I don't know what I would do without my daughter helping me. I've had a hard time recovering and help is a blessing. I hope it all works out for you and you get the support you need. Best wishes!
  21. Yes, it does help so much! I'm feeling very defeated right now. I can not find one single protein drink I can tolerate without gagging. I bought a "pure protein" bar today and it was nice and soft, and I seem to be able to tolerate a bar, but it was sickening sweet. I could only tolerate half. I'm having a hard time getting in 60 grams of protein, as I feel nauseated a lot. I go to my PA to see her on Tuesday to see if I can resolve some issues. Thanks for your encouragement!
  22. Wow! That's what I call prepared. I found a protein before surgery I liked and after surgery I can't stand the smell of whey. They're not kidding when they say your tastes change. I had to take it all to my support group and give it away. Also, water tasted sweet after I got out of surgery. Good luck. Ps tried my favorite drink yesterday from Starbucks and it just doesn't taste the same. Mango dragonfruit.
  23. Thank you! It is very exhausting. I hope to get to a point I can just wat 3x a day and get enough protein to sustain me. Trying to take pills, eating and drinking is a terrible chore and right now I just feel overwhelmed.
  24. I've had 3 previous abdominal surgeries and they went through my belly button. This time I asked if he could go through the top because I've had trouble healing my belly button. Yes, I had 6 incision sites.
  25. I've moved myself down to 1/3 cup and still having pain. It started immediately after my first bite. I find this whole getting enough water & protein exhausting. As I barely get to my goals.
