Just received insurance approval!

Hi! I'm new here. I just received insurance approval and was stunned. I was told 1 month at the very least is what it would take to receive approval.

It's been 1 week. I was feeling wishy-washy about the surgery. Now I'm feeling good. A little scared. A little excited.

Im in Michigan. How long from approval time till you actually had surgery?

Aw I sure hope your nerves don't get the best of you. For a large majority of people it's been the best thing we've done, so I hope you join that number too!

  • It took me about 6 weeks or so because my surgeon's calendar was already full as she only does surgeries one day a week. But it was worth the wait.

I think you will find everyone is different. Mine took forever. I was approved Dec 17th and I had surgery Feb 25th. The office was on vacation and the Dr had to sign off on it. Then they had to call for a date from the hospital. 4 week backlog.

I think my hospital does a high amount of these surgeries. At the seminar there had to be at least 25 people in there.

You probably wont have to wait that long and you can always call and ask. I did and they were very understanding of my wanting to know when it would happen.

You'll get there. Take care & best wishes on your surgery!

1 week from approval

Thanks for the responses.

I am nervous about the surgery and am a little worried I am going to chicken out. I've been working towards this for almost a year, so it's not a decision I'm taking lightly. I think that getting the approval just made it all more real.

Congratulations!! In my case it depended on my surgeons first available and for me that was three weeks. We scheduled it at the same time they called to tell me insurance was approved. Such exciting times ??????
