  1. I had to wait about 8 months from my first supervised diet visit until my surgery. I was banded Feb 25. So far everything has been really great. Good Luck!!!
  2. Congratulation!!! I am getting banded Feb. 25th and I haven't really gotten that nervous yet. Hope everything goes well!:tt2:
  3. My Dr. gave me a perscription for ambian (not sure about the spelling) so I could get used to the machine. It work some nights, but some nights I just took Tylenol PM, it helped me sleep pretty good. My machine also had a ramp button that started the pressure out at 4 and increased pressure slowly over a 30 minute period. That helped alot too. I only had to wear mine for 6 hours a night, so I would go to bed around 8:30 or 9 and just watch tv for about 2 hours, then I only had to sleep with it for 4 hours. I usually woke up and took it off and my Dr. cleared me for the surgery. I'm getting it this coming Wednsday, Feb 25. Can't wait. Anyways, hope this helps.
  4. I finally got my surgery date 2/25/08. I have been doing to Dr. appointment after Dr. appointment and my time has finally arrived. I am so excited. I go for my pre-op test and nutrition class on the 18th. I don't think that my surgeon requires a pre-op diet. If so, I will find out at the nutrition class. I am trying to do my own diet though, Atkins shake for breakfast, Start Ones WW meals for lunch and a small dinner and next week I plan to start walking at a local church. I am ready to get this started now so that I can succeed later. Everyone on this site has really been an inspiration to me. Thanks!!!
  5. Thanks for you quick responses. I'm not sure how my insurance work. I guess I'll just have to wait and see. TQUAD64, I see from your signature that it say you lost cc's from some of your fills. Is that common?
  6. I just found out that my surgeons office submitted the request for surgery to my insurance today. I hope I get an answer back soon. How long did it take for the insurance to get back to you all? I am so excited and very anxious.
  7. I too, just finished my 6 month program, then I found out today that they need my weights from the past 3 years. I don't go to the Dr. that much, so I hope I can come up with some type of documentation for that. If not, I've put all this time in and am going to have nothing to show for it. I just hope everything works out. Congrats BeautyLocs!!! Wish it was me.
  8. I hope things go that quickly for me. I will be done with my 6 month diet Feb. 2. And I have to wear a CPAP for 14 nights. I just started last night, so I should be done the first week of february. My delima is that My insurance either runs out March 1 or April 1 and I'm trying to get the surgery before then. If not, My husband should go back to work in July so I guess I'll just have to wait until then. Do any of you know how that will work if the insurance gets cancelled and I have to wait until it is reinstated? I really hope I don't have to do anything over. Thanks for the info Jen
  9. I was just wondering if anyone had Highmark BC/BS insurance? If so, about how long did it take to get approved for surgery?
  10. Hi, I just joined the site. I haven't been banded yet, I still have a few steps left before it is submitted to the insurance. Hopefully I will find something out the beginning of Feb. Is there anyone who could tell me what to expect once I am approved? About how long the process is before surgery? Thanks, Jen
