Ditto my doctor stated the same! he also mentioned one held 14cc and the other (Lap-band) was 10cc He liked the lap-band over the Realize:tongue2:

I wanna flat tummy
Hi Laura, answering your question, I looked into a couple of PS. I read their web pages, success, pics to before after, and made sure they were board certified. I really liked the bed-side manner of my PS. He did very good work, amazing the ability to stitch ever so nicely!! Good luck, I have no regrets. Enjoy your new tummy, it's going to look so nice. And the best part was buying new undies!! cute ones!!

Horray for YOU! Tell us was it a nice change up?? I had alittle of my chile verde, cooked very tender, it went down great, chewed chewed. It was so nice to taste the food. Hello from central California
:tt1:Morning Amanda, you are going to be so surprised that you dont really feel hungry after the surgery, its quite amazing. I have been now feeling alittle more hungry and I had the procedure done on Jan. 21st. I am doing the mush stuff. Trying to be more creative, so I dont keep having the same stuff. I hear your Doc. is a great doc, so think you are in good hands there. I had mine done by Dr. Swartz, Fresno. Good work and my small incisions look really good. The pain was tolarable, keep up with the dosage on time and you will be fine. Before you knowit the week will be over and you will be so happy with yur decision. Good luck, you will do great, this is a good thing, embrace it was determination. :w00t: Keep us posted on how you are doing, before and after. All my best wishes for YOU!

16 days till my Tummy Tuck...Any advice????
I was thinking about you last nite, remembering about how I slept after the tummy tuck......I was in the recliner, that most comfortable and got most rest. I could not lay flat in bed, and the wedge did not help, especially when you need to get out of bed. Becareful, in and out of bed. recliner was best bet for rest and getting your feet up, circulation.

16 days till my Tummy Tuck...Any advice????
2005....I had a tummy tuck and breast lift at the same time....approx 8 hours of surgery. Removed 16 lbs of skin and fat. My arms were sore, but not my back. I hated the drainage bags, but they are necessary. Just be careful with your movements, ck your incision, and it will be a big one, from side to side. But, so worth it! I was off the pain meds in 3=4 days, I can honestly say I was not in too much discomfort. I drove myself to my next day follow-up appt. Be prepared not to be upright for a bit x 3-4 days!! good luck to you, I felt so much better about myself, and my husband, my honey, was so happy for me too!! 2007 I had my last child, Caroline....gained advg # of lbs, probably stretched some muscles that they had tighten, but I will soon find out. I have just done the lap-band 21st of this month, wondering how my tummy will look after 30-40 lbs lost. I will wait and see, maybe need a tune -up on the tummy tuck. All my best to you, and congrts to you all your weight loss, deserving of a tummy tuck....cool:tongue2:

I wanna flat tummy
I too had the tummy tuck first, 2005, and now the lap-band. They removed 16lbs of extra skin and fat in the area. I was wondering too about the flat tummy?? I had a beautiful baby girl in 2007, so some weight gain, but not much. I carry most on the sweet bottom of mine.....LOL:biggrin:. I am so looking forward to seeing what I look like after 30-40 lbs lost!!

Hello from central California
I was banded on the 21st of Jan. and boy I am so happy. I too was excited nervous, but so ready to get with the program. I went to my post op on the 27, almost a week to date of surgery, and lost 5 lbs! I had almost no discomfort and followed all the rules, so important. Take your pain med, sip, sip and move move and before you knowit the week is over and you feel so much better. I had my procedure done here in Fresno, ca Dr. Swartz group with Dr. Felix, very good group. I am now at the mush state, looking forward to soft foods soon. I waited so long to find a good safe method of weight loss, I have....the lap-band. I am so hopeful, so happy. YOU too will find out this is a good choice. Good luck, God Bless:thumbup:

Bent over and felt a pop
I hope you are feeling much better. Cant say what the pop might of been. But, I too think if there is no significant pain, or oozing, redness to area, fever....probably an adjustment to your spine?? Hey, tell me where is your port located?? I have mine right under my sternum, to the right just a bit. I can feel it somewhat. It doesnt hurt, unless I try to reach over the dryer door and rest upon the area. So, I will not be reaching that way anymore. NO pop, so guess didnt mess anything up. I really do hope you are doing better,a nd you get an answer to the "POP":tongue2:

Ok, the scale is moving...slowly, but moving
I went to my post-op ck and I have lost 5 lbs!! hoooray!!:tongue2:Everything is healing great, and I feel so good. Doc wants me on another week of mushy, although I have been making my mush almost into liquid! So, I have to thicken things up, into a more consistant mush. Get ready for the soft foods to come soon. That is why my portions have been more than a 2-3 oz cup, I have been drinking my meals. I cant stress enough how good I feel, and the appetite is good, not hungry, so must be doing something right. At the office I saw familar faces from when I started the journey.....you know what.....? they all look so happy. One lady told me, my gosh, I can see my ankles now! Amazing, how a change in lifestyle can prompt the smallest of accomplishments! WE are not done, more good is coming our way.....and it's coming in a much smaller package!!!!LOL:thumbup:

day 4, sunday 25th
I can honestly say this is going good!I am no longer taking any pain med, that stopped on day #2. i have been doing all the housework without any discomfort. I have two small ones, ages 5 and almost 2, I can take care of their needs,so I am quite happy. My meals are getting progressed to mushy. Watery oatmeal really isnt too bad! I have come to enjoy schmushy pinto beans. I am taking my vitamins and BP meds, on problem. I got on the scale just to see.. I started at 228 at the hospital, Wed. morning, today my scale 222lbs! I might be off a lb, not bad. I feel good, not too hungry, doing great controlling the hunger when it does come in. i think i biggest problem was not knowing that I didnt have to eat so much anymore! God is good, thnks lap-band.
