  1. Happy 37th Birthday luv2teach!

  2. Hi,

Sorry...been a long time since I've been on here. I have lost only 55lbs since surgery. I was 289 before surgery and am at 233 now. I am sort of disappointed because the Dr. tells me that, that is a little slow...but I also have to admit I haven't been following all the rules either. I just cannot find a protein that appeals to my taste buds....they all make me nauseaous (sorry for the misspelling). So, how are you now? Did you meet your goal yet? Do you have a lot of lose skin or any advise on how to keep it tight? Any advise on anything? I need all the help I can get. Not sure how to move this along. I work out at the Gym 3 times a week for an hour ... but I don't do protein drinks and don't drink much water.

  3. WOW...well I'm glad u found out what was going on....my prayers r going up for Tuesday...let me know how it goes whenever you can....have a Blessed week!

  4. I was having terrible reflux and was eating chewable pepcid with every meal. I couldn't sleep at night was up coughing and vomiting up black tar stuff. lost 25lbs in a month. not good...couldn't keep food down most of the time. So having all kinds of trouble... finally started to get week and have pain. Went in and doctor did upper GI and found that my stomach had actually herniated through the band. (the bottom part of stomach started coming through the band) So not an actual slip. Doc thinks that the problem was caused because the band was not at perfect placement when originally put in. So new band on Tuesday. I can't wait. I feel like hell.

  5. how could you tell it slipped?

  6. You asked why I was getting a new band. My band has slipped and I have to have it replaced. I have surgery on Tuesday. Thanks for the comments about my pics... Progress had been good before the slip. :)

    Before and After Pictures

These are some pictures from before my surgery and some after pictures. I will add a new picture every once in awhile.
  8. Thank you for sharing the pix of your journey..your pix are by the far, the most inspiring I have seen all night..and I have looked at 39 pages thus far....

Good luck to reaching the final goal.

I am being banded on Friday. 9-4-09! Only 75-80 to lose, but it all counts in the big pix of getting healthier.

    HELP _ _ _ heartburn, indigestion, can't sleep

Surgery date; 5/30/07 Weight lost; 138 lbs. Dr. M. Brook Redd (THE BEST!) Gall Bladder Surgery; 8/30/08 Well I think I have gotten my heartburn and indigestion under control. I have gone three weeks without any major issues and have finally been able to sleep. Here is my regime. When I get up in the morning. I have a small cup of coffee and 8 oz. of juice. I have gotten the burning so under control, that I can even have a glass of orange juice. :cryin: Then I have a small lunch, which is usually some soup and a fourth of a turkey or chicken sandwich on rye bread. Before I was always eating wheat bread, and I haven't had any wheat bread in three weeks. Then for supper I just have a small amount of whatever I planned for my hubby for supper and I make sure I have eaten before 7:00p.m. and I only drink water the rest of the night. Absolutely no food the rest of the night! :smile2: I think that is the key. I also quit taking the prilosec, I just keep some pepcid chewables on hand and I will chew a half of one before and after each meal. I feel like a new person. I used to be so overwhelmed by irritation of the heartburn that I had a hard time enjoying anything. I feel soooooo GOOOOOOD! I hope this helps some of you out there. :crying:
  10. Thxs for the pic comment. Your pic progress is great I got off late tonight I wasnt going to work out and your pics motivated me to hit it anyway. Thxs

  11. Thank you for your comments. I would say the secret to my success is following the rules that my doctor gave me. Three small meals and 30 mins exercise very day. My doc also told me that to think of the band as a TOOL not a solution. :)

  12. wow you look great! can I ask what is your secret? My surgery is July 31st 09- I weight 345 and have a LONG way to go. How did you lose so much weight so fast??Racnesa, (Ill)
