  1. Good for you. My sister is trying to convince to me to get a body bug. How do you like yours?
  2. Very cool. I haven't scene my band in 16 months. Looks like everything looks good.
  3. Yes, you should be able to eat a cup of food. Yes, you have a pouch. You just can't feel the pouch restriction yet since you haven't had a fill. Good luck.
  4. I remember when I cleaned out my drawers and closet. It took me quite a few bag fulls to empty them. I've had to do that 3 times already. Good for you.
  5. Its very common to be tight in the a.m. Sometimes drinking warm liquids will help.
  6. Lauren, congrats! Good luck.
  7. I agree with Alexandra. If you are hungry that soon you need another fill. Good luck.
  8. I was banded 16 months ago and I am 21 lbs from goal. My doctor said that if I get to 32% BMI I am considered in a good range. That would bring me to 195. If I wanted to get to 25% BMI I would have to get down to 165.
  9. My band holes 4 ccs. I had about 1 cc my first fill. It took me 5 fills to get to 3 ccs.
  10. Productive burp. It is the same as vomitting.
  11. I chose the band because I didn't want the invasive surgery. My recover was very easy. I also like the fact that it can be adjusted.
  12. Sometimes your hunger will return before your first fill. In my case, I am 16 months out. I get hungry a few hours after a meal. I eat a few small meals a day. Good luck.
  13. I don't think there are any negatives to the surgery at all. I do miss food sometimes though. The positive are naturally the weight loss and not being as hungry. I am considered a slower or average loser at 1 lb per week. I've been banded 16 months and I'm down 66 lbs so far. I am 25 lbs from goal. You just have to go into this as if you will only lose 1-2 lbs a week. Make sure you exercise. That really helps. Good luck.
  14. Crystal. Great job. Keep up the good work.
  15. Isn't that exciting! Keep up the good work.
  16. Katie, I weighed 282 when I was banded. How tall are you? Currently I am 216.
  17. What kind of questions do you have?
  18. Yes with good restriction it can take up to 5 seconds to go through the soma. This is normal for good restriction. If you can't hold down mushies I would be alarmed. Good luck.
  19. It may take you several fills to get to the 1/2 cup size. Right now you shouldn't have any restriction.
  20. It took me 5 fills to finally get good restriction. I believe I have seen people go up to 7 ccs or so with your band size. It may take you several months to get there if that is the case. Good luck.
  21. That is fantastic. Keep up the good work.
  22. Personally speaking I can't live without my protein shakes. Yesterday I bought vanilla to mix with my Matcha green tea which I just bought. Often times I'll have a green tea frapuccino from Starbucks so now I am going to make them myself. The protein alone is 25 grams without milk. More with milk. Yummy.
  23. Gummie., most likely you are too tight. I would wait about a week and see if it eases up. Good luck.
  24. Hi Sherilynn, glad to hear from you. I understand exactly how you are feeling. There is a fine line in the sand when it comes to good restriction. In my opinion and my doctor's opinion, 1 cup of food is too much. With good restriction you should only be able to consume 1/4 cup of food. I always start my day with a protein shake to make sure I get my 60 grams in. One example of good restriction is recently I went from 3.2 to 2.9 ccs and I've gained 3 lbs since I did that. I am so use to eating only 1/4 cup of food I guess my body got use to it. You may only need .2ccs or just a slight fill. Keep that in mind as well. Good luck with your fill. There is nothing like feeling satisfied. Julie
  25. He has first bite syndrom. I am surprised he doesn't PB. Yes, warm liquids will help. I would try that first. Other than that, its just a waiting game.
