Do You Agree?
1-2 is more average. 2-4 would be considered above average.

Sudden loss of restriction
Hi WT. Yes, I am doing really well. I went in for a fill last Friday to 3.2 which is much higher for me. So far, I have lost about 3 lbs I think. So that is exciting for me. I'm considered a slow loser at 1 lb per week so I am happy. I am down 65 lbs and 3 sizes since surgery. Good luck!

Pb?
Hi Nina, I'm from CA. PB stands for productive burp. It is exactly like vomitting.

First Day on Mushies & HUNGRY!
Leona, are you on the mushy stage yet? A sandwich probably will not kill you but be careful. Bread can get stuck causing PB fairly easily. You may be okay since you haven't had a fill yet. Bread becomes more problematic once you start getting fills.

Hi WT, how are you doing?

Slow Losers - Unite!
Avilla, I know what you mean. The band takes time to lose with. I've been stuck for a while now too. I am 16 months post op and down 65 lbs only. From what I read on your post it sounds like you may need another fill. Good luck.

Does anyone else have weird band related dreams or nightmares?
Band surgery was a breeze for me. Nerves are totally normal. Good luck.

First Day on Mushies & HUNGRY!
Popcorn is definitely not a mushy. That being said, popcorn goes down really easy. My doctor explained it like sand going through a tube. Good luck with your decision.

are you hungry?
I've used their Whey and Soy products. Both are really good.

are you hungry?
The GNC protein shake in chocolate tastes really good. No aftertaste and very sweet.

If I'm not losing now, how will I lose then?
You may be one of those bandsters that may have to only eat 800-1k calories a day. I gained 7 lbs in between fills one time. Fills will definitely help. Now its time to heal. Good luck.

It's getting closer!
Hi Kimmi, welcome to bandland. I am 40 and was banded last June. The surgery was really easy for me. I had a little bit of nausea but that was cured with anti nausea medication. I had no gas. The port site was sore for about 2 weeks. You will do great. Good luck.

Lynn, that is fabulous news. I am 18 lbs from 200 and I can't wait! Good job!

are you hungry?
GNC has a really good chewable multi vitamin as well.

Wanted: Toilet
Emily, the surgery is pretty easy. The hardest part was the port soreness. I couldn't sleep on my side for about 2 weeks. I love my band.

I forgot to introduce myself...HOW RUDE!
Amy, are you banded yet? Once you start getting fills it really helps the hunger.

are you hungry?
I use GNC whey or soy protein shakes. With a cup of skim milk you get 25-30 grams of protein. Its a lot easier to get your protein in.

Losing fills
Your fill doctor can fill you with a thicker saline to help with little leaks. It worked for me and I can now hold a fill. Ask him about that.

Smells SO good!
Beans are an excellent source of protein. They are also band friendly.

First Fill
It took me 5 fills to have optimal restriction. Keep going back until you have good restriction. Good luck.

Hi..would like some advice
When does your doctor start giving fills? Mine did them at 6 weeks. You need a fill. Good luck.

Blessed
Hi Blessed. I love being banded. I think the weight loss is a little slower though. I'm 16 months post op and have lost about 65 lbs.
-
Sorry You Did it?
I am really happy being banded. Its the best thing I have ever done.

Anyone able to eat cheese
Cheese is my friend. It goes down perfectly and keeps me filled.

are you hungry?
I am barely never hungry. I can go until 10 or 11 am before my protein shake Eating a small lunch I can still go several hours until I need a snack. It depends on your fill level.
