How did you get back on track?
Mysterio, I would just think about how good you feel now. Make sure you get rid of all your bigger sized clothes too. Recommit today. Go get a fill. It will be worth it.

Researching a doc
mom2denise, I would post another thread with the doctor's name to see if you get any posts on their experiences. How many lapbands has he/she done?

Too much of a fill
Yes, could be an overfill or you may be eating too fast or too big of a bite. I would change those things first. There are 2 types of tightness, tightness to liquids which is bad and tightness to solids. If you don't mind eating a softer diet and you still lose that may be okay. It is up to you. Good luck.

What is the 'rule' on beer?
An occasional beer will not hurt. It is all a matter on whether the carbonation will hurt you. You just need to monitor it to see if you get heart burn or acid reflux.

Not losing ... Just glad I'm not gaining ...
When can you get a fill? They help a lot.

3 Weeks after Surgery,
Lynsay, what you are experiencing is normal. Make sure you eat lots of protein to keep you fuller longer. Also, when you do get a fill don't be surprised if you can't feel restriction right away. It took me 5 fills and 6 months to finally get there. Good luck.

For VG 10 cc Bandsters ONLY
Chandatay, I am 1 1/2 years out and have only lost 65 lbs. I am 30-35 lbs from goal. You are an average loser.

Feeling like I want to throw up
Abby, one way is to use portion control. Most bandsters can eat a cup without a problem. If you feel like throwing up with a cup of food I would simply eat 1/2 of a cup. That should help.

So Disappointed In Myself...
Elizabeth, what you are experiencing is normal. I gained 7 lbs in between fills. Go get your fill and if that doesn't help get another one and another until you find your spot. It took me 5 fills and 6 months to finally get there. Good luck.

confession!
Kayla, my doctor said I could have anything that fit through a straw. That being said, creamy soups really helped me. I would ask him if you could have soups.

Finally Approved!!!!!!
Hi Redbone, the phsyc eval was pretty easy. He primarily wanted to see what type of diet I have tried, to what extent, etc. He did ask me about my bi-polar ,which I am and it wasn't a concern. It was an easy process. Good luck. How exciting!

does anyone have feelings for their lapband doctor?
Shelli, I totally understand! There is nothing wrong with having a crush. Make you feel good that someone cares about you. Good luck.

Do You Believe in Signs?
I definitely believe in signs. I bet he started to gain his weight back. That wouldn't surprise me the least. Good luck with your decision.

Lap Band removal for different reasons
I'm sure you could find a surgeon to remove it. The question is will you be running it through your insurance? If you are self pay you shouldn't have any problems.

2 weeks post and I PB'd
Summer, don't worry about band slippage at this point. I would start on a mushy diet first for a week or 2 then add in solid protein like lean meats, chicken, etc. I really believe moving from liquids to solid foods is a mistake. Most doctors recommend 2 weeks of liquids minimum followed by 2 weeks of mushies then solids. Be careful because you are still mending. Good luck.

Lap band erosion
Diane, I believe errosion is when the stomach grows around the band and into the stomach. The band can actually errode into the stomach. I believe that is what it is. It does require surgery to fix and typically they can't put in a new band until it heals. Hope this helps.

banded and no restrictions
Susan, how is your calorie intake. Are you sticking to 800-1k a day? A fill will definitely help. It took me 6 months to finally get the proper restriction so just keep going back until you have yours. Good luck.
