  1. 58 lbs is wonderful. Congrats!
  2. Mysterio, I would just think about how good you feel now. Make sure you get rid of all your bigger sized clothes too. Recommit today. Go get a fill. It will be worth it.
  3. I agree with mbz. I would schedule that for sure. Good luck.
  4. How exciting. I am jealous! I have 35 more lbs to goal but can't wait to have some ps.
  5. Trace, I am just curious. How expensive is your tt?
  6. mom2denise, I would post another thread with the doctor's name to see if you get any posts on their experiences. How many lapbands has he/she done?
  7. Yes, could be an overfill or you may be eating too fast or too big of a bite. I would change those things first. There are 2 types of tightness, tightness to liquids which is bad and tightness to solids. If you don't mind eating a softer diet and you still lose that may be okay. It is up to you. Good luck.
  8. An occasional beer will not hurt. It is all a matter on whether the carbonation will hurt you. You just need to monitor it to see if you get heart burn or acid reflux.
  9. Lynsay, what you are experiencing is normal. Make sure you eat lots of protein to keep you fuller longer. Also, when you do get a fill don't be surprised if you can't feel restriction right away. It took me 5 fills and 6 months to finally get there. Good luck.
  10. Chandatay, I am 1 1/2 years out and have only lost 65 lbs. I am 30-35 lbs from goal. You are an average loser.
  11. Abby, one way is to use portion control. Most bandsters can eat a cup without a problem. If you feel like throwing up with a cup of food I would simply eat 1/2 of a cup. That should help.
  12. Elizabeth, what you are experiencing is normal. I gained 7 lbs in between fills. Go get your fill and if that doesn't help get another one and another until you find your spot. It took me 5 fills and 6 months to finally get there. Good luck.
  13. Kayla, my doctor said I could have anything that fit through a straw. That being said, creamy soups really helped me. I would ask him if you could have soups.
  14. Substitute it with a protein shake.
  15. You did awesome! Isn't it wonderful to be in control. I eat McDomalds from time to time and I can only eat 1/4 go 1/2 of a childs size burger. Go for it!
  16. Hi Redbone, the phsyc eval was pretty easy. He primarily wanted to see what type of diet I have tried, to what extent, etc. He did ask me about my bi-polar ,which I am and it wasn't a concern. It was an easy process. Good luck. How exciting!
  17. cmeyer, you are doing great. You can eat up to a cup of food without a problem. That is normal. Good luck.
  18. Shelli, I totally understand! There is nothing wrong with having a crush. Make you feel good that someone cares about you. Good luck.
  19. Yes, I can eat both just not much of them.
  20. I definitely believe in signs. I bet he started to gain his weight back. That wouldn't surprise me the least. Good luck with your decision.
  21. I'm sure you could find a surgeon to remove it. The question is will you be running it through your insurance? If you are self pay you shouldn't have any problems.
  22. Summer, don't worry about band slippage at this point. I would start on a mushy diet first for a week or 2 then add in solid protein like lean meats, chicken, etc. I really believe moving from liquids to solid foods is a mistake. Most doctors recommend 2 weeks of liquids minimum followed by 2 weeks of mushies then solids. Be careful because you are still mending. Good luck.
  23. Diane, I believe errosion is when the stomach grows around the band and into the stomach. The band can actually errode into the stomach. I believe that is what it is. It does require surgery to fix and typically they can't put in a new band until it heals. Hope this helps.
  24. Susan, how is your calorie intake. Are you sticking to 800-1k a day? A fill will definitely help. It took me 6 months to finally get the proper restriction so just keep going back until you have yours. Good luck.
