Surgery on Friday!
Congrats on having your lapband surgery on Friday, how exciting! I like you, tried everything possible to lose weight and keep it off. I've been banded almost 2 years and I am thrilled with my results. When you get good restriction food will no longer control your life. Maintaining your weight loss is easy when you have good restriction. I love being able to eat anything I want, just less of it. I am 10 lbs from goal right now and don't look back. I am so glad I made this decision. Good luck on Friday.

Bartender/Waitress & TT?
I am 3 weeks post op and very tired still. I would think if you are on your feet and need to stand upright that it would take at least 4-6 weeks to get back into the swing of things. Also, keep in mind that you may have drain in too. I had one drain out 2 days post op and the other one almost 3 weeks. The tummy tuck isn't sore or anything like that, its just tiring.

Tomorrow is the day!!!
Hi Holly, how exciting! The only thing I would suggest is loose fitting clothing. The port site will be sore. I remember how it was for me nearly 2 years ago. You will love your band. Good luck tomorrow.

should I laugh or cry???
If you are eating a lot I would be bummed. You have a ton of willpower!

I'm P'ed OFF
I am sorry there is so much negativity around you. Moving forward I would only surround myself with those who are positive including this forum. This decision was yours and its a very personal one. Come to the boards to post as often as possible. I am really glad you made the decision to change your life. Good luck.

Need some help
Keith, when you say you can eat 1 1/2 cup of food that sounds like a lot to me. With good restriction it is more like 1/2 cup of food. Also, with good restriction comes little hunger. Exercise will help but good restriction is key. Good luck.

New PCP
I'm sure he will not start the process again. Typically at Kaiser it takes 5-6 months to get banded. Congrats on the weight loss to date. Keep going.

Scared of baggy skin!!
I have lost 110 lbs and just had plastic surgery. I had a tummy tuck and thigh lift. I would save your money for plastic surgery. There is probably nothing you can do to help the situation. Exercise will help but genetics play a big part. Congrats on your weight loss to date.

Fat Girl thoughts
4 lbs in 4 weeks is very good. I gained 8 in 2 weeks when I had a slight unfill. I would make your appointment for the day after your birthday.

please read and if you hear me i need your input
Ditto. I would seek some counseling.

time between fills?
My doctor makes me wait 2 weeks in between fills.
-
Would you get another fill the week before your honeymoon?
I am really glad you are okay. I had a D&C when I miscarried. Glad you like your new job as well. I am glad you have proper restriction now and will not be getting a fill. Have a nice honeymoon.

Help! Need a Kick in the Butt
Hi Warrior55. 100 lbs is very doable with the lapband. As far as the diet goes, you can eat everything just less of it. Good luck in your journey.

What are you doing with all your clothes?
I gave mine to a friend, Goodwill and my mom took them to her Weight Watchers meeting to give them away. I probably have donated 10 bags of clothes over 2 years.

Boo Boo Kitty's PS Journey
I hope you are feeling better soon. When I had my PS 4/21 it really took me about 2 weeks to feel back to normal. I am still slow on my feet and like to rest a lot. 4-6 weeks is just about right. post when you are feeling better.

Thinking about it..............
The actual lapband surgery was really easy. The only side effect I had was the port site was sore. My approval, consults, EKG, etc. took about 8-10 weeks or so. I too tried every diet out there. My highest weight was 320. I had lapband surgery at 285. The lapband is a tool so just be aware that the harder you work the faster you will lose. It takes a few fills to get restriction so you have to be patient. 1-2 lbs a week is the norm so you need to know that. Some people lose a lot faster but it depends on how much you exercise, etc. As far as constipation goes, I didn't have it. I would take a laxative a few days after surgery if you can go. Good luck in your journey.

Its time to face the truth about your health and well being. The Nutrionist will work with you to improve your eating habits. I would be honest. You didn't get this way overnight. Good luck.

10 lbs from goal!
I am 10 lbs from goal. I'll be banded 2 years on June 6th. I had plastic surgery on 4/21. Tummy tuck and thigh lift. I gained about 8 lbs when I was unfilled for surgery. I have lost 10 lbs since surgery. I go back in on Thursday for a slight fill. I hate being hungry!

I Did It - I Did It - I Did It
Congrats on getting to goal. I am 10 lbs away from goal right now so I can understand how exciting it is. Way to go!
