  3. My New Years resolution is to stop smoking. I've been smoking for 2 years. I use to smoke a little but now I smoke every day. I also want to lose the rest of my weight starting now at 7 lbs which would bring me 1/2 way to goal.
  4. Welcome to the lapband forum. You will find a wealth of information here. Best of luck on your decision.
  5. Hi Kaye, my doctor does fills 2 weeks apart. Maybe you could get in earlier than February for yours. Don't worry too much about the weight loss. You are still early out in the process. You will do fine.
  6. Hi Helen, welcome to the lapband forum. Hopefully you will find the answers you are looking for. Its a life changing decision. I love my band. I wouldn't change it for anything.

  15. Catfish, you are doing great. I am down only 34 lbs since June. 40 lbs is great. Keep up the good work.
  16. The only thing I was prescribed was an anti nausea medicine and patches to prevent nausea. No other meds were given to me.
  17. I can't feel my port at all. I really have to lay down and search for it. I have the low profile, that may be the difference. You can ask for that when you have your surgery. I would.
  18. I didn't blend my soups. I ate creamy soups a lot. The cream of broccoli and celery go down just fine. If you were to cheat I would move onto yogurt. Its a little thicker than liquid but it will not kill you. Just try and eat stuff that goes through a straw. You should be fine. You are still healing. Good luck.
  19. Jen, best of luck to you with your surgery. Its the best thing I have ever done.
  20. Carmille, surgery is a personal decision for all of us. That being said, I was 282 lbs prior to surgery. I am down about 34 lbs since June. My struggle has been slow but it well worth it. The band is a great weight loss tool. I would go for it if I were you. I am not looking back. Good luck.
  21. Thank you everyone for your support. Everything I have read here is correct. I just need to stay focused and find some new supportive friends. Thanks again and Happy new Years.
  22. I am writing this while I am emotionally have difficulty over the loss of a supportive friend. We were friends for 2 years and he was the backbone of my weight loss journey. 7 months ago we just stopped talking. Says that he needed to do that because he is in a better place now. I don't know what I did but I miss him horibly. I cry all the time and I can't reach out to him. I guess I'm in mourning. He knew what it was like to be overweight. He understood my trials and tribulations. He was my rock, my confidant and I loved him for that. Please give me some sound advice. Contacting him is out of the question.
  23. I believe that she needs continued care but Mr. P shouldn't get involved with anyone until the passing of his wife. That is just wrong.
  24. Thanks for the info. I had a friend lose her dog to collar strangulation on the fence. It was sad.
