  1. Thank you all for your posts. Waiting plastic surgeon is so exciting for me. It keeps me totally focused on the remainder weight I have to lose. Thanks again.
  2. Hi Judy, sorry to hear you are going through so much. I hope you are able to have your surgery. It is well worth the wait. Good luck.
  3. I would talk to your surgeon and see if he can recommend another doctor for you to see. Waiting 3 months to see what happens is not a good idea. Good luck to you.
  4. I always forget to take mine so don't worry about it . As long as you feel good and are getting in your protein you should be okay.
  5. I am down about 34 lbs since June. I am considered a slow loser at 1 lb per week. I am down on myself. Thinking how on Gods green earth am I going to lose the rest of my weight at this pace! I guess I need to be happy with what I have lost so far.
  6. I have no trouble taking my meds. If they are the size of an M&M you should be fine. I only split one of my pills so it is small enough. Good luck.
  7. I would stick to creamy soups they seem to keep me the most satisified. I wouldn't worry too much about protein right now. Once you hit solids you can eat the 60 grams. I ate mashed potatoes, cream soups, yogurts, anything that can pass through a straw. Good luck.
  8. My doctor didn't do a preop diet. Every doctor is different. Good luck.
  9. Hi Joe, you will probably lose some weight in your first 60 days. Men tend to lose faster. It depends on how you do with your post op diet. My recovery was easy. You can lose 100 lbs by September if you like. I've seen 100 lbs off in 6 months with some patients. You can expect to lose 30% of your weight in the first year if you stick to the bandster rules. So that would be 120 lbs approximately. Everyone is different. I'm a slow loser at 1 lb per week. But I over endulge in alcohol which is empty calories. After I had my surgery I lost the appetite for food. I didn't have restriction so I went into my doctor for a fill 6 week post op. Everyone is different. You may not need a fill for a few months, it all depends. Good luck to you. You will love your band. It will change your life. Wow 6'5". That is amazing.
  10. Thank you! That is what I think too. I can't wait to hit my goal and get done what I want to! Happy Holidays.
  11. I need to vent about my sister. She is totally unsupportive about me wanting to have plastic surgery after I reach my goal. I started at 320 lbs and had lost 40 lbs before surgery on my own. I'm down a total of 70+ lbs right now. I want to lose another 50. So I am just talking about having plastic surgery. Not that I may really have it or not. She told me a plastic surgeon will never do a TT and lip on someone who is 200 lbs. At 5'9" I look really good at 200 lbs. It just give me something to look forward to. My husband thinks she is jealous because I am taking care of myself again. I only want to look my best. If holding on the idea of having a TT once I reach my goal makes me stick to my diet then I am better for it. What do you think. Am I being to vane?
  12. I tried pepcid AC and it worked like a charm. I think I had to take it for at least 3 days. Good luck.
  13. Josephine, I hope your dog is going to be okay. I too am trying to stop smoking. Good luck.
  14. Alicia, congrats on the new NSV. That is wonderful.
  15. I don't take mine to work but its the greatest blender I have ever owned. I would definitley buy one. They are great for the protein shakes.
  16. I would go back on the suggested diet right away. I too ate regular food and my doctor nearly had a coranary attack. It is really important not to hurt the band. The stitches can come out. I would just go right back on. Your band is probably fine. Good luck.
  17. Hi Taz, good luck with the swelling. This is the most difficult part of the surgery.
  18. Hi Gigi, welcome to the lapband forum. Good luck with your surgery.
  19. You are in the healing stage. I would stick to mash potatoes. Rice should be okay if you chew it really well. I survived on creamy soups a lot. Congrats on your surgery.
  20. Hi Debi, I had mine removed after the birth of my 2nd son. I have heard good results having it removed at the time of lapband. I wouldn't want to go through 2 surgeries either. Good luck.
  21. Hi Jean, I was banded on June 6th of this year. So far I am down 34 lbs. I am considered a slow loser at 1 lb per week. I love my band. I am so glad I had it done. Good luck to you.
  22. Hi Serious, what a nice gift to yourself. Congrats on your surgery. You will love your band.
  23. That is great. I too enjoy speaking with people who have been there. Although bypass is more serious it does work so that is great you were able to talk with her. Good luck with your surgery.
  24. Becka, that is great news. Its so nice to surround yourself with people who understand. I am glad it worked out for you. Best of luck to you with your surgery. Keep us posted.
  25. Hi Kat, that is great. I hope you had fun at the party. You sound like your attitude is great. Keep up the good work.
