Wow! I had no idea about Mexico banding.
I agree with Melissa. I think they don't access you until the day of your surgery. That is probably why they stopped.

Feeling after Fill
Next time don't eat 2 hours before your fill. YOu should feel much better.

Where is the Sweet Spot?
What size band do you have? I have a 10cc band and I'm at 3ccs and my 4th fill. I feel good but I think I am up for another one soon.

pre op diet
I've heard some lose 10 lbs. It all depends on your body.

Newbie Introduction
Welcome to the lapband forum. It sounds like you are well on your way. Congrats.

Slow Losers - Unite!
marimaru, that is great. I am trying to get to my 1/2 way mark right now. I have another 7 lbs to go. The same 7 lbs I had 2 weeks ago mind you! Anyway, glad we are not alone out there. It seems I have slowed down considerably but I don't want to get another fill because I know I'll PB more. Thanks for the update. Good luck.

Ack! This is frustrating!
Oh, I understand now. March will come soon enough. But as a side note, if you were banded you probably can go to class shortly afterwards. The pain is minimal, just around the port. Good luck. I know you have been really patient.

been gone awhile....
I would see if you need a fill first. That should help you out. YOu can do this. Just take a mental note as to why you were banded in the first place. Love your band and treat it with respect. YOu will bounch back quicker than you think. Good luck.

I can't believe I'm going to say this...
I would go in for an unfill. That should take care of the problem. It just sounds like you are overfilled. You should not be throwing up mashed potatoes. I'm surprised your doctor hasn't suggested an unfill. Good luck.

Update...
Stephanee, congrats on your approval! Keep us posted. Good luck.

Ack! This is frustrating!
laurend, thanks for letting us know how you are doing. Wonder if you can take Friday off of school and just recoupe the 5 days. Some people are up and about very quickly. YOu may not even miss a class other than the day of surgery. Good luck.

Feeling Discouraged..... :(
I agree with Cinward. I think 1 cup of food is a lot. YOu may need another fill. YOu can get your protein in a different way if you can't eat meat. Good luck.

Sarah's NSV List
I'm down from a 24 to a 20, I am in an XL top from a 3x. I can cross my legs better. I am not winded on the tread mill. My butt is shrinking and so are my thighs. I look 10x better from photographs, especially my license at 320 where I look bloated. I just feel all around better.

Not losing.....
Angel R, how are you doing?

Portion sizes
Cherie Berry, it sounds like you are eating just enough. YOu may be a slow loser at 1 lb per week. That is what I am at. If you are worried about your food choices I would bump up the protein to 3 oz and omit the starch OR do a vegie instead. That may help you in the long run. If that doesn't work, its time for a fill. Good luck.

2 weeks post op and feeling great!
Mypov, you are doing great. YOu have the right attitude. I like the fact that you are having your family work with you. It makes it so much easier. Keep up the good work.

Have you checked with your surgeon's office yet. They usually have some type of financing. Good luck.

You sound like you have a great head on your shoulders. Congrats on making the life changing decisions. I love my band. I wouldn't trade it for anything. Best of luck.

Struggling with this decision
Maryrose, from my experience I think OA is a better program. They work on the root of the problem. Weight Watchers is more about quantity of food but not necessarily about the behavior . Good luck to you regarding which program you choose. It will all help regardless.

Only 1 more day 'til banding!!!
Bailey, congrats on making the decision for yourself. Sometimes that is what it comes down to. We can't rely on others. I had a good friend that knew I was struggling for some time. I had already lost 40 lbs on my own. He basically told me I was taking the easy way out. It is not like that at all. YOu have to work with the band. It is your friend or your enemy. When they say it is a tool they mean it. You have to work at it. You will love it though. Best of luck to you.

Hi there
soon2bthin, that is great news. I know how difficult it is when your family practioner will not support you. There are plenty of doctors out there that will. Congrats and making the decision to improve your health. Good luck.

Be sure your Surgeon is QUALIFIED!
Sue, don't be discouraged if you gain a few lbs prior to your fill. I was up 6 lbs when I moved from mushy to solid. You will lose it after your first fill. Congrats on your success to date. Keep up the good work.

Nsv
I am in the process of moving and today I decided to get rid of all my sizse 24s. I think I even had a 26 in there and a lot of 3x. I am now down to 1x (I even slipped into a Large the other day) and a tight 20 on the bottom. I do feel more comfortable in a 22 but boy do those tight 20s look good! Anyway, I have a 10 lb goal right now and that would bring me right over the 40+ mark and 1/2 way to my goal of 82 lbs. I lost 30 lbs preop so once I hit my goal I would have lost 120 lbs down to 200 lbs. I'm at 247 right now. Thanks for reading.

Entering the Mushy Zone
Sounds like you are doing really well. Congrats. You got protein in 3 times today so that is fabulous. Keep up the good work. Mushy stage is okay. Just keep with the soft proteins and chew chew chew.
