  1. Sherilynn, you have now officially entered bandland. Good for you!
  2. Good for you. Keep up the great work.
  3. I would make an appointment to go back to the other surgeon and let him know your experience. While weight loss is slow for some of us, I would take 45 lbs loss in 9 months more than a gain any day. And while you can have chocolate and sweets I think you will find your taste buds change after surgery. Good luck.
  4. Yes, it is very common. Just try and eat as much as you can. Make sure you get in a lot of fluids.
  5. Congrats on getting banded. Let us know how you are doing okay.
  6. I didn't stop smoking before surgery and I healed up very quickly.
  7. If you can eat a great deal of food without difficulty plus you are also hungry you should get a fill for sure. Good luck.
  8. Mine were about 2-3 weeks apart initially. I haven't had a fill in about a month.
  9. a. no hunger b. good restriction c. steady weight loss d. no PBing.
  10. Lauren, sorry your mom isn't supportive. Just do this for yourself and you'll be fine.
  11. First of all, you definitely need a fill. You shouldn't be able to eat more than a cup of food at a time. In my case, its more like 1/2 cup of food at a time. Restriction is really important.
  12. I love having restriction and never feeling hungry.
  13. Right now you are healing so I wouldn't worry too much about losing weight. The weight loss will come especially after you get restriction (fills). Good luck.
  14. An occassion Diet Coke will not hurt you. Just don't over due it.
  15. No, you should be fine. As long as you don't feel like PBing you are doing okay.
  16. What is the BMI requirement to have the lapband surgery? It depends on your insurance company. YOu need to check with them. Some only take patients with a BMI of 40+. I was 40 I believer. I read that it can be between 35-40 if you have health problems relating to your obesity, I have had terrible knee problems and am wondering if that will even be considered? Yes, probably. Will my families history affect whether or not I can get the surgery? Probably not. Also, do having the fills hurt at all? No, not at all. And the scar that is the port, does it take longer to heal than the other scars? Yes, because that is where the incision is made. And can you feel the port under your skin? I can feel my port just under the skin. You don't feel is pertrude or anything like that. YOu really need to search for it to find it.
  17. Lona, You will love being banded. I hope everything goes smoothly for you.
  18. Welcome to lapband talk forum. Congrats on your surgery date. You will love being banded.
  19. Lauren, congrats. Keep us posted on when your surgery is okay.
  20. You both look great. What a great accomplishment so far!
  21. Congrats on the NSV. Sometimes if we treat ourselves to a new outfit it really helps us to realize just how far we have come. Keep up the great work.
  22. Congrats to you. Keep it going.
  23. Lauren, I am thinking of you. I hope things turn in your favor soon.
  24. I don't remember exactly but I believe I had lost about 10-15 lbs. I had also gained back 7 of those lbs before my first fill. Fills really make the difference. Good luck.
  25. I finally had the cinnamon non fat sugar free dolce no whip cream latte. Whooooo long words. It was fabulous.
