  1. I made it to 226 so I didn't make it to goal but I'm down 6 lbs.
  2. Sunshine, you are doing great. Keep up the good work.
  3. Sounds like you are an average loser. I am down 56 lbs in a year and 3 weeks. That is about a 2 lb a week average. Good luck.
  4. Jody, you sound like most of us. I had 100+ lose and I am over 1/2 way there. I love being banded. I only missed a few days of work, I eat like a bird and the weight melts off. I will never diet again. With good restriction it is wonderful. Hope you make the right decision. Good luck.
  5. This may help you being approved. I would say its a good thing.
  6. Either way, if you find someone give them away or just give them away. Get rid of them! Good luck.
  7. You will feel restriction and less hungry. That is how you will take the weight off and keep it off. I eat like a bird now and I'm super happy. Good luck with your banding experience.
  8. The risk is very small. It is well worth it to get banded. I really hope you can find support here. It will be difficult when you get banded with your husband. He may try and sabotage you. Just stay focused, use the boards. Good luck to you.
  9. Mendy, Glad you are going to look into the lapband. Its a great tool. I too had to lose 100 lbs. I am 46 lbs from goal and I feel great. Down from a 24 to an 18. Good luck.
  10. Hi Kelly, welcome to lapband talk forum. I didn't have to do 6 months preop diet so I'm sure that is challenging. I am down 56 lbs this year. It will be so exciting when you hit the 299 mark, then 200 mark. I am 26 lbs away from the 199 mark and I can't believe it. I still love being banded. Good luck.
  11. Dr. Spiegle has a great reputation. I have UHC too but I had to go out of Network. They covered it but don't cover my fills.
  12. Faithmd, I hear ya. I use to be able to pig out on it. I can have it, just not much of it. I typically can eat 1/2 of a roll now. I really miss it. That and sandwiches.
  13. Hi Ken, I eat sushi all the time . Yes, you can have the soup, no problem. I would wait until the mushy stage to east sushimi. It is mushy enough for that stage. Enjoy.
  14. Becca, I had my gallbladder removed pre surgery. I was in the hospital for a few days. Glad you came through okay.
  15. I miss being able to eat sandwiches. I can typically only eat 3 bites and it sucks. I also miss eating a ton of sushi. I can typically only take 3 pieces in.

I started in 26s My sex life has improved too I love my body more I feel like my abs are finally going down. I don't mind being in a swim suit. I don't mind wearing tank tops Overall I like the look of not looking bloated and fat I have more energy I don't mind doing cardio
  18. I've been banded a year and have lost 56 lbs of my 100 lbs. That is an average of 2 lbs a week. I didn't get good restriction for a long time. I did have some trouble being too tight for a week but that has been resolved. That being said, I have seen stats of people losing anywhere from 50-75% of their excess weight the first year. There are people who lose 100 lbs in a year but they exercise a lot. I do PB but it is typically a couple times a week. You just have to eat very slow and eat the size of a pencil eraser. You will love being banded.:clap2:
  19. I think it took me about 6 weeks to be approved. It was worth it though.
  20. Hi Claire, congrats on making the decision to be banded. I wish I had done this years ago. You will love it. Julie
  21. Hi Heidi, you will love being banded. Congrats on your impending date. Julie
  22. Hi George, sounds like you are doing great. Congrats on your weight loss to date. You will lose that hunger once you start getting fills. Way to go!
  23. Hope you find the right doctor. You may want to start a thread in lapband support asking people which Mexican doctors they would suggest.
  24. 26 more lbs and I'll be there!
  25. Hi Danny, I am doing fantastic. It took me a long time to get good restriction. I am an average loser at 2 lbs per week. I am down 56 lbs with a out 46 to go. Its great being over 1/2 way to goal now. I have the right restriction so I am really losing steadily now. You will find that important.
