  1. Danny, congrats on getting banded. It sounds like you are doing great. Keep up the good work.
  2. Kim, it took me 5 fills to finally feel restriction. I still have problems finding the right fill level. You will be fine. Just go back and get more saline if you aren't filled enough. good luck.
  3. Patti, I think you will be surprised how much more enjoyable exercise will be once you lose some weight. I am much happier now when I exercise. good luck.
  4. Good for you! Keep up the good work.
  5. Glad you got banded okay. You will love being banded. Good luck.
  6. I have heard of that doctor on the boards before. I'm sure you will do fine. Good luck.
  7. Mary, congrats on looking into the band again. It will be life changing. Good luck.
  8. There is no scientific evidence that soda stretches the pouch. That being said, it typically will irritate you. You just need to sip slowly and see how it goes. Good luck.
  9. Becca, congrats on getting banded. You will love it.
  10. Patti, congrats on taking the first step to a healthier life. You will love being banded.
  11. Yes, you may see a difference after waiting a week. I would give it a week and see how you are feeling . You may need a slight unfill.
  12. Stacie, you need to make sure you are eating plenty of solid protein. You shouldn't be eating after you have eaten an hour prior. I would definitely talk to your surgeon about it. This might be habit but it has to stop. Good luck.
  13. The answer is a tough one. First I would start with your restriction. Good restriction is when you can only consume 1/4 go 1/2 cup of food. It sounds like you are at the 1/2 cup mark which is good. If you are not losing, however I would go in for a minor adjustment. Exercise is a tough thing. You really need to make it a priority. The only motivation I have is that I have a personal trainer. That gets me to the gym 2x a week. I am not losing as fast as I could if I walked more during the week. You really need to make it a priority. How about a double stroller to hold both of your kids? That way you could get out ane take a walk during the day. Good luck.
  14. I am bipolar and I came through the surgery fine. I can take all my pills with no problem.
  15. It took me about 8 weeks before I had my surgery.
  16. I am about the same size as you and I can fit fine on the rides at the amusement park. I say go for it.
  17. Nursinggal, I would definitely go if I were you. You are not alone as a slow loser. Trust yourself and continue on your journey.
  18. Tuna or chicken salad are good.
  19. I am not sure if it will subside or not. You may want to ask your surgeon. I can tell you that sometimes with restriction comes burping and/or hiccups. It is quite common.
  20. Lisaandjason, you have done great. I have only lost 52 lbs in a year so I'm a little discouraged. I think I finally have the correct restriction now so we'll see how I do.
  21. I am at my sweet spot and I can only eat 1/4 of a sandwich at a time. If you can consume an entire sandwich you definitely need a fill. Good luck.
  22. I have lost 85 lbs so far and it looks like I'll definitely need a tummy tuck. I have 25-40 more lbs to go so we'll see.
  23. My doctor recommends 2 weeks after a fill to have another. You may want to check with your surgeon to see how much time you need in between. Truthfully, I wouldn't do it. I would just carefully watch what I was consuming.
  24. Once you move to solids salad will be okay. I can eat salad just fine. You probably will be okay. You also want to make sure you eat solid protein with it because that will keep you fuller longer.
  25. Leslie, I am glad you posted. It is nice seeing people out there who have been banded a while. YOu have done great. Julie
