  1. If you are able to eat 2 pieces of toast it may be time. I can only eat 1/2 of a piece of toast. Also, if you are able to eat more than 1/2 cup to 1 cup of food (1 cup being too much) and not losing it is time. It all depends on if you are losing or not.
  2. I can do popcorn fine. My surgeon said it goes down like sand because of the roughness. You should be fine. Just try a little at a time.
  3. Donna, congrats on getting banded. I remember when I was banded. Isn't it great not to be hungry!? You may find in time your hunger returns so that is when you get a fill. My doctor gives fills starting at 6 weeks. Good luck to you!
  4. Good for you. How exciting. I've been banded for a year and I'm so happy with my band. Congrats and good luck. I live in Northern, CA.
  5. I hope your band is okay. I am glad you are back on the boards. Keep the faith.
  6. I was banded on a Tuesday and returned the following Monday. You can go back sooner but the most difficult part is staying on the liquid phase diet. I would think if you take a week you should be okay. Especially if you are on your feet all day. Good luck.
  7. Lapband is great. If you have faith in your surgeon and follow the instructions you will lose. Good luck to you.
  8. I hope your surgery went well. I felt the same way as you did. I was very scared leading up to surgery. I am really happy I was banded though. It will be worth it. Good luck today.
  9. Start your day with a protein shake. That will give you close to 30 grams of protein. Eat lean protein throughout the rest of the day and keep your calories under 1200. You will lose at least 2 lbs per week. Good luck.
  10. I understand how you feel. I tell just about everyone. Thankfully I haven't gotten any negative feedback. Good luck with your surgery.
  11. I have been banded for a year and I'm down around 50 lbs. The weight loss for me has been average but it feels slow. Just remember that you can lose 30-50% of your excess weight the first year. That being said, I have seen people lose 100 lbs their first year. It just depends on how much you exercise and how soon you get good restriction. It will take you some time to lose 150 lbs but the wait will be worth it. Good luck.
  12. I have heard about that before. You should be fine having your gall bladder out at the same time.
  13. Tuna salad seems to be a good fit. Also, cottage cheese. Don't forget protein shakes too. They are full of protein and very good for you. I have one every day for breakfast.
  14. Good luck to you. The surgery was a breeze. I had a sore throat from the tube they stick down there. Other than that, it was easy. Good luck.
  15. What you are experiencing is normal. Your stomach is probably swollen so I wouldn't worry about it. Just sip all day long and make sure you get in enough fluids. You will be fine in a week or 2. Also, let your surgeon know how you are doing.
  16. Just remember your goals. Set some mini goals for yourself, say 5 or 10 lbs. Also, make sure you have enough restriction. If you are eating too much get a fill. Its as simple as that. Good luck.
  17. I don't think you are unrealistic. Just know that it will take you time to get there. Make sure you work with your surgeon to get optimal restriction as soon as you can. You will be fine. It will just take you more time.
  18. Sheri, keep getting fills until you get good restriction. It took me 5 fills to get there. Good luck.
  19. I wouldn't worry about your band stretching. You are probably okay. If you eat 1/2 to 1 cup of food and still lose you are lucky. If you aren't losing at 1/2 cup of food then you definitely need another fill. Let us know how you are.
  20. Laralynn, I don't mind when I PB either. It makes me more secure that the band is actually working.
  21. Edie, Congrats on your weight loss to date. You look great and skinny too!
  22. That is fantastic. I never thought of it that way. I am 1/2 way to goal as well! Keep up the good work.
  23. My surgery was on a Tuesday and I was back to work the following Monday. I would say 5-7 days will do. Good luck.
  24. I just went shopping at Lane Bryant today and I'm now down from a size 24 top and bottom to a size 18 bottom and 14/16 top. That puts me down 3 sizes on the bottom and 4 on the top. I am really close to being able to shop at normal clothing stores again. Wow.
  25. I went shopping at Lane Bryant today and I am down to a size 18 on the bottom and 14/16 on the top. I started at a size 24. My goal is 50 more lbs. Pretty soon I'll be shopping at a normal clothing store. I'll miss Lane Bryant though. I've been shopping there for years!
