  1. Ivarose, I really appreciate your honesty in your post. It sounds like you have gone through a lot. Good for you that you finally have your band diet figured out. It sounds like you really had to go to the extreme to do that. Keep up the good work.
  2. I love being able to fly on a plane without an extension. Good job!
  3. I can only eat a out 2 oz at a time. More like 1/4 of a cup of food. I have perfect restriction I think.

  5. I am tight in the a.m. as well. That is why I drink protein shakes in the a.m. If you can only eat 1/2 cup you are at the right fill level. Also, since you are not hungry that is a great level for you. Just take it slow.
  6. Rain, I felt the same way until I started to work out on a regular basis. First I would go get some new workout gear. I bought mine at Lane Bryant. I would suck it up and do it. You'll feel really good about yourself if you do. Good luck.
  7. You are doing fabulous. Congrats!
  8. Congrats on your NSV. Good job!
  9. Chris, that is fantastic news. Congrats.
  10. YummieT, first don't be so hard on yourself. Start back today and eat solid protein tonight. Tomorrow get up and have a cup of coffee followed by some protein. I start my day with a protein shake. I then move onto solid protein. Sometimes I can eat 1/2 sandwich. Commit yourself today! You can do this. Get on a meal plan. Maybe meet back with the Nutritionist too.
  11. The band doesn't work until you start getting fills. That is why they make you wait 6 weeks. You are in the healing stage. I gained in between fills too so don't worry. Just schedule your first fill and you will feel better. It took me 5 fills to finally get to my sweet spot so hang in there. It may take some time.
  12. Jennifer, I live in Gilroy. You want to meet for a drink or dinner sometime. I've been banded for 15 months and am doing great. Let me know. I can meet you in Blossom Hill area off of 85. You are doing great. Don't beat yourself up. Have you had a fill yet?
  13. Micki, you and I are in the same boat exactly. I weighed 320 post op and I'm down to 224 and a size 18. The only thing I can tell you is a fill will definitely help. You must recommit yourself to your exercise right away too. My goal is to recommit and give up alcohol after I go on vacation in September. Write me anytime. I would love a new friend!
  14. mermaid, that pisses me off when doctors do that. My doctor definitely wouldn't have. That is such a bummer. There is no reason why he shouldn't have give you the lapband. You are overweight for a reason. You just need a kick start. I would go on his diet and report back into him as often as possible until you hit the mark for surgery. Best of luck.
  15. Eggs are really good for you so don't worry too much about that. Protein shakes are my savior. I have them every day.
  16. As them how the band works, what size they typically use, how much saline they hold, what the recovery time is, how much time off of work, pain control, where they place the port, incisions....all of those types of questions. I am happy for you. Good luck.
  17. The worse thing to expect is PBing. It happens and you have to accept that with the band. The best thing is how easy it will be to lose weight. You will see a big difference in a short amount of time. Good luck.
  18. Plain and simple I am picking it as a size. I would love to be a size 14/16. I currently am in a size 18. I think I can hit that with 20-30 more lbs. Wish me luck!
  19. I'm in the same boat too. I have my last 40 lbs tolose and I feel like it is taking forever. I haven't lost a lb in 3 weeks and I am at the right fill level. Please help!
  20. If you are on liquids you need to make sure you sip very slowly. You are probably really swollen right now. Also, if you have nausea the best thing to do is to call your doctor and have him prescribe an anti nausea medication. I was quite nauseated with my surgery. And that really helped. Good luck.
  21. There are lots of reasons why you could PB. Mostly it is because you are too tight. You should be able to eat a minimum of 1/4 cup of food. Also, you need to make sure you slow down and take the tinniest of bites. Bites that are no bigger than the size of a pencil eraser.
  22. Very good. I am really happy for you. It is nice to have your significant other on your side.
  23. Jetti, you are not alone. My weight loss surgery experience happend a year and a half ago. I've been banded just over a year. I am considered an average loser at 1 lb per week. I'm down 58 lbs so far. I still shop at Lane Bryant. I started in a size 24 and now am down to a siz 18, 16 on top. I know what you mean about wanting to lose weight for your health. You must see a ton of women who struggle with their weight every day. Use that as a motivator. You will love being banded. Good luck on your journey.
  24. It took me a long time to reach the right fill level so don't be discouraged. I have been banded a year and I'm only down around 58 lbs. Its been really slow. Now I have correct fill level and can only eat 1/4 cup of food at a time. I know I have hit my sweet spot now. Keep going in for fills until you get the right fill level.
  25. I love being banded. I can only eat 1/4 cup of food at once and I'm fine with that. Enjoy food while you can. The beauty of being banded is that you can have everyone, just in smaller portions. Good luck.
