  1. Thanks for the info! That seems like a totally workable plan.I think I've been eating to much.I think I want to tell myself I can eat as I want and still lose weight and that is just not the case.Plus I have not been faithful at all with exercise. So you definitely have inspired me to get moving so I can too be a sucess story!! Thanks & best of luck to you!!
  2. You know you are a bandster when your new gummie chewable vitamins taste like candy and you have to resist the urge to eat more than two. .....when a co-worker taste's your diet snapple and tells you it taste's like crap and you drink them all the time.. .....when you and your child can share a happy meal! ......when your husband knows before you that something your eating is going to get stuck.... What a great thread.......i love it!
  3. Wow your weightloss has been great! How many calories do you consume a day? are you a big exerciser?? what types of food do you eat?? hope you dont mind all the questions.......i'm just a little lost as far as an eating plan.I like the 4 meal idea,I think 3 meals no snacks would be hard for me at this point. Thanks for any advice!
  4. How much food do you find you eat at a meal, again I've been reading:glare: and it's says 1/4 cup of food or 2 oz? I can eat way more than that.Does that mean I need more restriction? And it also says 3 meals,no snacks? Does anyone else follow this?? Please advise as to what is working for you sucessful bandster's??:crying: Thanks!!
  5. Wow,thanks for the info I did find that previous post a little confusing & disturbing!:crying:
  6. Do you find that you get hungrier or feel less satisfied once you start drinking after eating??
  7. How long do you all wait to start drinking after eating a meal? I've read all kinds of conflicting info and I'm not sure.I'm wondering if I'm not waiting long enough and that's why the hunger returns so quickly sometimes??:crying:
  8. Shome, Do you think you need a slight unfill? did you just get filled? If not shouldn't you be able to get more different kind's of foods down?? I'm only 4 months out so maybe I dont know what I'm talking about..........but you sound really tight.
  9. Missy0224, Just be careful & keep an eye on your blood pressure.I took phen-phen years ago & it worked well for me until it was pulled off the market but you did feel like a "crack-head"!My endocrinologist that I saw pre-lapband put me on phentermine to help get some of the initial weight off prior to qualifying for surgery. It really didn't agree with me,I would sweat and feel shaky and it would make my blood pressure go crazy. So just be careful. No judging here cause I've tried it all myself!! Take care!:huh2:
  10. Trvlguy, I think you can totally lose restriction with weight loss,my first two months I was nice & tight and lost close to 40lbs and then things started losening up.I feel like I've been chasing that restriction ever since.I just got my third fill last Tues and think I am finally starting to feel some good restriction again!! So hang in there and get adjusted if you think you need it!Just my 2 cents!!
  11. Tutornmom, Hey there....my first fill was fine not eventfull,my second fill however was a nightmare! The doctor could not find my port, she had to stick almost 6 or 7 times, they thought maybe it had flipped at one point. It was bad.I just had my third fill on last Tues and it was a piece of cake. The only difference for me was the second fill I had eaten Breakfast & drank coffee that morning, the other fills were first thing in the morning so my tummy was empty.I read in a lapband book that one Doc recommends pt not eating or drinking for 4 hrs prior to a fill so........not sure my doc never told me either way but that's the only thing I can figure.:tongue_smilie:
  12. I agree how is WW any different than people using the dailyplate.com to count calories or whatever other formula people use.Just because we got the tool we still need to learn how to eat healthy & splurge in moderation! I'm happy I joined!!:tongue_smilie: Cant wait to see that scale start dropping consistently. My surgeon also strongly recommended calorie counting & tracking and WW as well. That made it an easy decision for me.
  13. Plain, Well put & those were awesome words of encouragement! I like that today is what matters and it's never to late to turn this around! We can be such all or nothing kind of people...........thanks!!:tongue_smilie:
  14. I too had surgery in November and my hair is falling out too! I had thin hair to begin with so it's definitely worse.I'm taking biotin & even bought the Nioxin brand shampoo & conditioner & scalp treatment but it has a gross medicene smell and makes my hair feel dry! So I dont know.......stinky hair or no hair! LOL ! At least they say it's suppose to grow back.....cant wait!!
  15. Just got a fill yesterday too......just survived my 24 hrs liquid phase and am working on mushies today.Man that liquid phase is a b*@!! This was my third fill adn everytime it throws me for a loop!! The only plus is you drop a quick few lbs during it! I dont know how those people do it on surviver I am NO fun to be around when I haven't eaten!! my poor family!! LOL !!:sneaky:
  16. Hey Wannabskinny, I notice your weight is dropping!! That's great I know from your posts your were getting discouraged. Are you still doing weight watchers? I just signed up myself for some consistency & direction.Good luck & keep up the hard work!
  17. This is great info.............I too was totally debating joining WW.I've been sucessful in the past with ww only to fall off and gain it back. I feel like I also need structure and like I am sooo lost about what to eat. This confirms for me I think I will join and it shouldn't be so hard to follow this time as I have the band on my side.It will be my little secret!! LOL !!
  18. Losing it, I asked my surgeon that exact question because I too was worried about that.she said it is very rare and does not really happen and that I had nothing to worry about. So I'm trying not to worry about that.................. I've only had 2 fills scheduled for my third this tues and I have very little restriction also,I'm hopping this third fill will do the trick to jump start my weightloss again!! Keeping my fingers crossed!!
  19. Colorado banding, Congrats! that must have been an awesome feeling!!:cool2: I know I'm in an 18/20 and on my way to 14/16 @ lane bryant then I'm on my way out the door never to return again!! Yaah!! what a feeling for things to actually be too big instead of the other way around!! Keep up the hard work!!
  20. Deener, Welcome to LBT!! I'm about 4 months out so I'm fairly new at this whole band thing but I'm getting there.I toldly feel you on the "nay-sayer's" my mom was not at all on board and my mother-in-law and father-n-law blantantly did not approve. But I did this for me.Remember your the one who lives with this everyday not them.My mom eventually came around(she was so against gastric bypass)she welcomed the lapband with open arm's.My mil and fil have been pleasantly surprised by my sucess so far..........I feel better and that's all that matters!!Good luck to you as you begin your journey, fasten your seatbelt your in for the ride of a lifetime!!:crying:
  21. Catherine55, Wow congrats to you!! That is so awesome.I totally needed to read this post tonight.I have been so frustrated now that my weightloss has slowed down.Patience is the name of the game!! Keep up the hard work!!:w00t: I'm so close to onderland I can taste it!!
  22. The surgeon told me to expect 5-7 a month. The first 2 months the weight was flying off,the last two months not so much.I would be happy to consistently be losing.
  23. The amount of people's fills & restriction is so amazing to me.I'm 4 months out have had 3 fills for a total of 4 cc's.It amazes me that others who aren't as far out have as much or more fills than me.It's crazy how much things vary from pt to pt.I guess my doc is not very aggressive compared to some.I think I'm definitely in need of another fill.I'm finding my weightloss stalled and I can eat so much more quanity & more often than before!I soo want to get to that sweet spot where I'm not battleing hunger & the urge to snack all the time & the scale starts moving again!! I have a friend who did RNY 2 weeks prior to me and her weight is just flying off! And it appears she can just eat whatever, not struggling at all unlike me! Very frustrating! But I know we all make personal choices it's just hard not to be jealous!! This site definitely keeps me sane & in perspective!!Thanks everyone!!
  24. These are some of my no-no's: 1.bacon 2.some lunchmeat 3.lettuce 4.some pasta 5.untoasted bread/bagel's 6.once a blueberry muffin almost killed me! LOL! Mine also change daily & with my fill's,I know it;s time for a fill when I start having "to much fun" with my eating!!
