All you people do is complain...
Sweetie, I hate to fall to your level, but if your ass carried your weight well, you wouldn't be getting the band in the first place. People that are a healthy weight don't NEED a band around their stomach to limit what they eat. And here's a clue.... If you don't want people to reply to posts you make, DON'T MAKE THEM. Simple enough?

I hate it when people post just to post.....
I might be able to do that, will have to see about funds (I'm rather broke at the moment).

Hmm. Maybe we should get together some time and so skydiving. I could go to Texas or you could come to Tennessee.

I was trying to come up with a good way to say something along those lines, but you said it better than I could have.

And this, ladies and gentlemen, is why you should never stomp your little feeties and make posts about how you're "never coming back, EVER! *sob*" while you're in the middle of a hissy-fit. Invariably, you will come back, and it just makes it that much more embarassing for you.

I was about to say that the SN looked familiar, and then I realized that it was the OP coming back from the dead (since she basically committed board suicide).

And BBK, your new tat looks very cool! I haven't decided if I want a tattoo when I hit my goal weight or if I want to go skydiving. I'm kinda leaning towards skydiving at the moment.

Yep, I think we're talking about the same post, lol!

I hate it when people attempt to call someone out for something they haven't even said or implied. All it does is make them look like a complete moron. Which, on the other hand, IS entertaining, I guess. :scared2:

Just what I was about to say. I even went back and reread the post of Wheetsin's that was quoted - twice. There wasn't an "ignorant" to be found. Of the two posts in question, GaLina was the one that used the term "ignorant." I guess she was bashing herself, then, lol. :scared2: In which case, I fully agree with her post!

Yep, that's a keeper, LJM!

This thread is going to be sooo inappropriate!
I honestly think that many of them are the type of people that want to have their cake and eat it, too (no pun intended). They want to be thin, but they want to eat like a fat person. They don't understand that it isn't healthy. Sure, their surgery has better long-term loss, but what are they sacrificing to get it?

I know I would LOVE to see the cholesterol levels of DS patients. I wouldn't be shocked at all if they were through the roof.

OMG, I just snorted in real time!

Can't wait!
Definitely! Just keep us updated!

Can't wait!
I might get my arms done eventually (they're starting to sag a bit), but my first order of business is the tummy tuck and a breast lift.

Can't wait!
The more I have time to think about my choice of surgeon, the happier I am with who I chose. I just got an email from the person that first suggested her. She had her surgery on the 25th, and she seems SO happy right now. I have to admit, I'm jealous! She had her pain pump removed today, along with one of her drains, and she says her results are fantastic so far. The surgeon even sent her flowers! I admit, I'm worrying about whether I'll really be able to afford this financially, but I KNOW I can't afford to NOT do it, emotionally/psychologically. God, I can't wait until I can schedule a surgery date!

Advice you can take or leave, but please listen..
Very true. And don't forget the people that ask a question and then ignore all the answers/advice except the bits that THEY want to hear. Person 1: "Will this hurt me?" Person 2: "Probably." Person 3: "Likely." Person 4: "Nope, I did it, you'll be fine!" Person 5: "Yep." Person 6: "It might. Ask your surgeon and do what he recommends." Person 1: "Thanks, Person 4, that's what I thought!" :huh2:

I hate it when people post just to post.....
Jesus, I just found that stupid fucking thread that got locked. Do people NOT read their posts before they click submit? How can they honestly say that they don't understand why people were starting to get pissed? I'll give a heads up to anyone who believes that a size six is ugly. You probably won't want to read the rest of my post. < < < < < < < < < I really think a lot of it is jealousy, plain and simple. Here some people are, confronted with people that did it the right way and reached a healthy weight with a sensible diet and exercise, while they've relied on basically starving themselves. Like I said on your blog, Chickie, 95% of the time someone saying shit along the lines of "If I had a BMI of XX, I'd be skin and bones" doesn't even REMEMBER being at that weight. They don't have a damn clue what they'd look like, they are just making excuses because they either A) don't want to put the necessary effort into getting to that point, or :scared2: really don't think they CAN get to that point, so they pretend that they don't want to. Both of which are FINE and DANDY. No one says that everyone has to be a perfect weight. But damn it, ADMIT that you don't want to put in the effort that getting there would require. ADMIT that yes, the weight you are settling for is still medically overweight. If you're happy with that, super, that's all that matters. But don't sit there and serve up a lot of BS about how people that are a perfectly healthy weight are unattractive or talk a bunch of that "to me, to me, to me" crap, because the only person you're fooling is yourself. And hell, after being 250/300 pounds for years, do most people honestly think they can look at themselves and actually see what they really look like? We all get so used to seeing something look the same way for years, that anything that differs from it isn't going to look right to us. Hell, I still think I look the way I did 60 pounds ago, while people that haven't seen me in a while are calling me "skinny minnie." I'll fully admit that I don't have a damn clue about how I'm going to look when I get to a healthy weight. I'll also admit that I used to be one of those people that said, "I think I'd look horrid at that weight." And yeah, it was jealousy and wanting to pretend that I didn't want it because I didn't think I'd ever get to that point. I probably pissed a bunch of people off with that, lol!

Parents pick prayer over docs; girl dies
You guys probably already know how I feel about it, so I won't go into it.

I hate it when people post just to post.....
Phew! When y'all started talking about someone under their goal weight, I was worried you were talking about Wasa or Chickie. I was over here thinking, "But they do know what they're talking about!" Never mind, I've edumacated myself, carry on, lol!

Obese Children Maybe Taken From Home
True, we can't say with absolute certainty that a child would not be obese if the parent wasn't feeding him/her horrid food. To say that it doesn't have an impact is just ignoring the issue, though. It's like people here who complain that they aren't losing weight and then talk about the full-calorie Starbucks drinks they're sucking down every day, the fried foods they eat, etc. I mean, come on. To use the example that Wheetsin posted, if a parent is feeding her 7 year old child 4 eggs and soda every morning, it's easy to deduce that it might be a pretty huge factor in the child's weight. The fact that there might be another contributing factor to a child's weight does not mean that the other contributing factors should not be dealt with. For most adults and children, obesity isn't a result of, say, Cushing's syndrome or massive thyroid issues. It's most likely a result of a bad diet and limited exercise. Just like any other problem, when you are looking for a solution, you try the simplest one first. And in the case of obesity, it's diet and exercise. If that doesn't work, then you move on to looking for more complex solutions. Now, that doesn't mean the family has to nag the child about losing weight. But feeding the child a decent breakfast and refusing to stop at McDonald's every single day isn't nagging. There is a midpoint between being a fascist about food and allowing your child to eat a ton of grease, fat, and calories. To use a bad analogy, it's like someone going to a car repair center because their back seat was wet after a storm. Yeah, the seal around the door might be leaking, but they should first check to see if the window was open.

Birth Control
I was on Yasmin for several years and it was great. Never had weight gain or any major side effects, other than mood swings at first.
