  1. Jack, read the rest of the sentence.
  2. I like watching Emiril and Bobby Flay sometimes, but my favorite is Alton Brown. He's just such a dork that it's funny. I'm not fond of Barefoot Contessa, or Giada, or Rachel Ray. I can only watch them in small doses. But I will watch them any time to avoid watching Paula Deen.
  3. I slept until 1 PM today then had a nap from 7:30 - 10:00, and I'm still tired! To top it all off, I feel sort of icky and have a sinus headache. I've been trying to get a paper done that's due this coming Wednesday, but I have no energy.:faint:
  4. The site of the Sand Creek Massacre finally became a historic site today. I can remember reading about it when I was little (I was really into Native American history for a while) and being absolutely horrified that those people could do what they did to people who weren't even hostile. I am so glad that our nation is finally stepping up and acknowledging what happened.
  5. And she has the most annoying laugh EVER. Gives me the creeps every time I hear it.
  6. Speaking of, I'm going to Memphis next weekend for Memphis in May (my brother and dad are competing in the canoe race), so I'll be sure to go to Rendevous and think of you guys while I'm eating BBQ!:biggrin1: :heh:
  7. If you're ever in Memphis, you guys need to check out Rendesvous. They are one of the most well-known, oldest BBQ places in Memphis. The outside doesn't look like much (neither does the inside, to be honest), but they are famous for their dry-rub ribs.
  8. Hi! I'm currently living in the Richmond area. I may be going to Louisville for a support group at Norton Hospital once I have surgery (if I can't find one closer), so maybe we'll see each other then.
  9. From what I've heard, unless you can talk your company into dropping the exclusion, you probably won't have luck with appeals. I have a different insurance carrier. The first thing you should do, though, is check the benefits and make sure that your company hasn't put an exclusion in that policy, as well.
  10. Now that you mention it, that was what threw me off, also. Singing Kumbaya was one of the worst parts of church camp for me. Well, that and the prayer circles, where I'd have to sit and pretend that I was praying along. It was freakin' creepy.
  11. I agree. Positive comments being allowed, if they were anonymous, would still be great. Like Mark, though, I experienced several people giving me nasty, hurtful comments because they didn't like my views and were apparently trying to harm my reputation. The positive notes are a really good pick-me-up, though, especially when yo don't know who they are coming from. So, if you do bring it back, I think you should make it anonymous again. The anonymous messages (the good ones, at least) were like getting a secret admirer's note. It was nice.
  12. The saltiness is what makes bacon, bacon. My aunt and uncle brought up some turkey bacon last year when they came to stay with us for a few days. Worst meat product I've ever tastes, by far. There were no redeeming qualities to it. It had a vaguely bacon-ish flavor, but was way too thick and had no saltiness to it. Waste of time, IMO. Another of my uncles owns a Subway, and he always brings Subway stuff when he comes to stay with us. He'll bring bags and bags of their cookie dough, and he's also bring a bag or two of their bacon, which is the best bacon ever, IMO. It's precooked, so all you do is throw it in the microwave for about a minute for a plateful, and eat. No bacon stink in your kitchen, just ultra thin, crispy, salty goodness.
  13. Yeah, it will. It's basically the same policy that I am covered under right now, but I am having to change from my parents' policy to one of my own when I turn 24.
  14. No, I didn't. I don't think they would do much good at this point. If they decide to give me a late surgery date, I will raise holy hell, though, and they will be used then. I need to have surgery before August 2nd, or I'll have to go through all this again because I am changing insurance policies on that date.
  15. Well, I refaxed them the results of the tests, and they resubmitted everything to insurance today. I am hoping to hear back from the insurance company next week.
  16. I am doing this publicly because I feel like I deserve a little public humiliation at this point. I am apologizing to everyone that I sent an overly negative reputation message to. I can't excuse what I did, but I can explain why. I had recieved a message that I felt was particularly nasty. I was hurt and angry and I decided to "share the love", so to speak. In the clear light of day, after I've had time to cool down, I realize that what I did was in very poor judgement. So, feel free to berate me, scold me, bash me, whatever you feel is necessary. I sincerely apologize. I let my hurt and anger get the best of me. I may not agree with all of you, but I really do respect you as people.
  17. Well, I did the same thing to some people, so I'd be a fool and an idiot not to accept your apology. Look on the bright side, though, I was actually blaming someone else for what you wrote to me. The way I reacted in turn is embarassing, because I usually don't act like that. So, like you, I apologize to everyone I sent an overly hateful message to.
  18. Oh, dear. I'm pretty sure that wouldn't have helped.
  19. I have to say that the type description links that are in the results of the test that Wheetsin posted are pretty darn accurate descriptions, in my case at least.
  20. According to the link Wheetsin posted, I'm an INTJ, which is what I think I was when I took it before. According to this, I am in the right occupational field for my type, which is nice.
  21. Yeah, I'd say the fewer severe complications is probably one of the big reasons.
  22. I remember taking the test during my freshman year of college for an honor program thing, but I don't remember exactly what I got. The test isn't highly respected, though, because most people's results change when they retake it.
  23. Oh! My washing machine and dryer! Never, EVER again will I live in an apartment or house without at least a hook-up. I despise the laundromat. My clothes always come out of them smelling worse than when they went in because all the laundomats around here allow smoking. My dishwasher is another necessity. I really hate washing dishes. I've been known to throw out dishes and pans instead of washing them by hand.
  24. Oh dear. That's too funny!
