  1. Autumndannie, congrats to you on your surgery!! I was banded on Dec 3. I also did this to 1.Have a baby and 2.To get and stay healthy. Hubby and I have been ttc for going on 5 yrs. I have had PCOS for 6 yrs, a blocked tube and overweight. ALL odds were/are against me. I feel like such a failure...but now I have my friend Mrs.Lap Band and with my will power I will hopefully not only reach my weight goal, but I will also reach my life long dream of becoming a mom. Tink as far as surgery goes...its not that bad. I was a bit uncomfortable the first 3-4 days, but everyday is better. Like Autumn said, time is flying, and before we know it, we will be joining the rest of the girls on this thread discussing our due dates and if its a boy or girl....oh, congrats to Fairy Facade..ITS A BOY!!! Our time is coming and when it gets here, its going to be the best time of our lives!!!
  2. Well.....did you find out the gender??
  3. Old Goat, thank you-thank you!! I did have some refried beans today and it went well. Yes, for me it is a mind game and I have to play my cards right. WILLPOWER is the name of the game. The more I get on these forums, the better it is. And keeping busy is the main thing for me.
  4. :thumbup:Just a Girl, nice to hear you did and are doing so well. Thank you also for posting so quickly. I have been thinking about yall. Wishing you and all of week two a very speedy recovery:thumbup:!!
  5. I wish my hunger would behave like yours. It is getting better. I didnt feel hungry at all today. I started on some cream soups and uped the protien intake....seem to help.
  6. Thats when we are going to try, AGAIN, also....depending on the wieght loss. I would like to do it sooner and my doc said 8 months out we could start, but I will probably wait till 12 months out. Were you able to have any kids with PCOS in the past?
  7. Sue and Trina, thanks for the help. Im glad Im not the only one with the hunger pains. I did take your advice Sue and made me a combo of 1/2 chicken broth and 1/2 Crm of Celery Soup and blended it real good, then strained the celery strings and had that for lunch. Lunch was @ 11:00 and Im feeling great. Not hungry at all. Maybe I will stick with something other then chicken broth, jello, apple juice...THANKS!!
  8. Congrats to you on the weight loss. Are you also TTC? I was banded Dec3 and have lost 8-9 lbs, but like you....it will take me 14-16 months @ 2 lbs a month. Best of luck to you.
  9. :tt1::lol:HAHA....thats about how I feel right now. Watch out McDonalds... :biggrin:That just made me smile!! Thx, I needed that:thumbup:
  10. Thanks for the help. I do agree when Im busy, I dont think about it. I have to get it together, but Im having a rough time right now. I dont have any local support groups and you all on the forum are my only hope. I will probably be back frequently, just keep me on track. Shopping and eating were my 2 hobbies and I cant do either right now...(my hubby wont let me drive yet. I think there is a reason for his madness...can we say $$$. He doesnt want me to go "overdrive" on the shopping:lol:)
  11. I did have a preop diet, but it was only a low calorie diet with the protien shakes as snacks 3 times a day. I was able to eat meat, veggies and fruit on my preop. Good luck to you and the Unjury shakes are me favorite too.
  12. OK, anyone out there banded last week getting hungry??? I am!! Im even hungry right after I eat:mad2:...or should I say drink. I just want something to chew on:drool:. What "food stage" is everyone at. My doc said liquids a week or two. Well, another week of this and....HELP:scared2:!!! Am I the only one experiencing this?????
  13. Hi everyone.....Im on the boat with yall. I was banded last Wed 12/3 & STARVING!! My Dr did not make it real clear when to move on to full liquids, mushies, softs....!!?? He siad use my judgement. When did you all move on to the next step. The clear liquids and protien shake (gag) go down fine, but Im just scared to progress. HELP!!!
  14. Stewy, nice to hear from you. I was wondering how you were doing:confused:. Sounds like things are going pretty well for you. Gretchen, wow...what an amazing recovery. So happy that you are doing so well:smile2:. Im sure this was a piece of cake after the kidney transplant. :thumbup:Hope everyones recovery is going well....Wishing you all the best!!
  15. Emj, thanks for the words of encourgement:biggrin:. Yes, hopefully it will all pay off and I will be preggo like the rest of you..... Aug 3 is the day for you:smile2::scared2::biggrin:. First we look foward to the "band date" and now some of us get to look forward the the "baby date". Hope to be with yall some day soon!! All you preggers need to keep us updated. We want to know how its going out there for yall:confused:. Oh, ya...Im doing better. The sorness is finally kinda going away!! But Im starting to feel hungry every now and then
  16. Kerry best of luck to you and all the week 2 bandsters:thumbup::biggrin::thumbup:!!! Joann, thanks for the tips about the port site sorness. Mine is getting better, but still not 100%. I agree, it helps when you support it with something..... FUTURE BANDSTERS---This is a good tip for everyone going into surgery. When your up and about, support the area where they put the port in. I also recommend, like the others, bring slipper sock-some hospitals provide them, a pillow for the trip home and I used mine to prop me up in the bed and chapstick. I put some on before and after surgery. Your lips are very dry after surgery. I also put some on before the "swallow" test and as soon as I swallowed the dye, I licked my lips to get the "dye taste" out of my mouth:lol:. Sounds funny, but kept me from gagging:tounge_smile:.
  17. Vicki...I was banded on Dec 3 and I am also experiencing horrible pain at the port site. Im still taking the pain meds to help with the port site pain. And yes, it hurts like heck when standing, like something is pulling in there. I too think its from my hanging belly. It helps a little when I hold my tummy up, instead of letting it hang. I am up and walking, but there is no way I would be able to go back to work. I also thought it was something I did.....
  18. Hello to all my fellow DEC 3 BANDSTERS!! So nice to hear how all of you are doing:tongue2:. I was also banded Dec 3 and I am like most of the others with painful gas. The Gas X sorta helps, but then it comes right back:cursing:. I also still have alot of pain at the port site, but I guess thats expected since its sutured to the muscle. I have to say it is more painful than I thought it would be:thumbdown:. I got up and took a shower yesterday and felt so much better:smile2:. Still on a little pian meds, but as soon as my DH gets me liquid Tylenol, I will be taking that. Walking helps with the pain and the gas, so I try to do that as much as I can. Im still on Clear Liquids only. I will be on full liquids next week. Looking foward to that. Good luck to all that are already banded and to those of you that are getting banded.
  19. Ejmdiva, aligmamma and HeatherO...THANK YOU SO MUCH for the encourging words!! I just got home about 1 hr ago and I could not wait to get on here and post. I am still in extreme pain, but as soon as I read my messages from yall, my face just lit up. It feels SO GREAT to be able to come home and know there were people thinking about you. THANK YOU for making me feel so special. I will post again tomorrow and let yall know how things are going. Im in alot of pain right now and have alot of gas:bored:, but hanging in there. How long does the sorness last??
  20.:thumbup:Trina, wishing you all the luck in the world!! Your going to do great! Keep us updated.:wink2::thumbup:
  21. I am drinking the Unjury shakes also and I really like them. I order the chicken soup flavor the other day (hoping it will get here before surgery so I can taste it). I have tried the vanilla and choc and both are pretty tasty. I recommend trying them! I like to add vanilla extract to the vanilla one. Makes it taste like a milkshake:cursing:. The web site is www.unjury.com and the prices are pretty reasonable. $18.95 for 16-18 8oz shakes.
  22. Sue in ne, good luck:thumbup:!! My surgery is on Wed 12/3 amd I am getting super nervous. I have never had surgery before and I think that is whats making me so scared. The unknown....:cursing: Keep us updated on the progress:biggrin:.
  23. Emjdiva, what a WONDERFUL Thanksgiving....to be able to share the news of the baby with your family. I am so happy for you.
