  1. I understand completely. I was banded on 11/3 and when I read your thread I realized that I am a food addict. Its hard because it seems like we have to go through it alone. I have research Overeaters annonymous. I want to go to a meeting. I am just a little scared for some reason. I am anxious to see some peoples answers.
  2. I had surgery on the 3rd of November. My period was sched to come yesterday and still nothing. I know surgery can some time throw your body off. Did anyone else have a late period after surgery? TIA
  3. I know what you mean. I am in the puree phase (anything I can smash with a fork). Since we have to Fluid in our band out stomachs are pretty much regular. We have no restriction. You can eat more just eate wisely. Try to limit the sugar and salt (I need to take this advice) I liked pinto Beans and cheese from Taco bell. I also like Mashed potates, crab dip (crab and cream cheese mixed with shrimp sauce on top). You just have to play around with it.
  4. I completely know what you mean. I was banded don November 3rd and I feel fine. I do not feel like I have the band at all. I have made good food choices but I have a problem with candy. I feel no restriction and I can eat anything normally. I called the dr. to see if this was normal and the nurse told me that it was. We just have to eat minimally and stay focused. It will be a little better when we are filled but we have to work on the food choices. If you get hungry in between time eat some fruit or veggies. Try some Extra gum. Good Luck!
  5. I know what you mean. My staples are starting to pull and it hurts. I am getting them taken out today. It amazes me how I went from eating everything in sight to a yogurt, pintos n cheese, oatmeal and maybe a soup and be stuffed. I am soo excited about my this.
  6. Hey there, good deal. I was banded on the 3rd and I live in Overland Park..How is your healing going?
  7. From what I heard that is an appeal process. But like other posters stated, yous hould look up all the specific reasons you were denied and fight them. Pull up your benefits and the criteria for surgery. Good LUck!
  8. Today I am really sore. It feels like I was doing abs for a whole day. My back hurts but I think that is gas. Here we goooo...
  9. Thats great!! I just got banded today~
  10. I get banded at noon but I have to be at the center at 10. I am so excited!! I went through all the emotions and nerves;do I really need this? am I doing the right thing? I cant wait to lose weight? I am just soo excited. All of this was going through my head the moment I woke up this morning. I am assuming that this is normal so I am not backing out. I will post my experience as soon as I get home. Any advice?
  11. Hey there, I am getting mine tomorrow as well @ noon. I was able to eat Breakfast before noon since I am on clear liquids only 24 hours before. However, I am starving now. I have a roast on so I am going to drink that broth. I want something with some substance. I ams oo excited for surgery tomorrow. Good luck and blessings to everyone!!:cool2:
  12. :laugh:I have been overweight my whole life. It seems like I have always been on a diet. I lose weight and gain it back. I am having the band on Monday and I am a big ball of emotions. I am finally going to take care of me. I forgot what that felt like. Weight is such an emotional thing and no one would undertand until they have been there. I have even decided to join a Overeaters Anonymous group to deal with the mental side of me being overweight. This is the beginning of my journey and I am embracing it with positivity. Now bring on November 3rd.:tt2::confused::wink_smile::wink_smile:

  14. Congrats!!!! You are doing great. I have heard of people donating their clothes to thrift shops and the good will.
  15. I am sorry to hear that. You have to make sure that you take pride in yourself before others take pride in you. Are you confident in yourself? Does it show?
  16. Hey there, Just wanted to say good luck and hello. I am getting banded ont he 3rd of November.
  17. Is the 20 pounds since you got banded?
  18. WOOOT!!! WOOOT!! I am schedualed for November 3rd. I am soo excited. I feel like I rushed them but I guess you have to stay on top of people to make sure it gets done. I am soo happy!:thumbup:
  19. Sorry about that...I would call the dr. myself
  20. I have not been banded yet but my plan is to only get stuff on clearance and consignment shops. ther eis no need to keep spending money on stuff your going to have such a short time.
  21. It's good to see what everyone is going through. I have not been banded yet but I have been looking at ways to handle my mental aspect with food and with the weight loss. There is soo much to learn about how to live with the band and how to adapt. Your post just inspired me to research more about what happens after surgery. I am going to get a couple of books and talk to more people. I have also looked into joining a Overeaters Annonymous group by my house. Food is an addiction and it is good that we help ourself mentally or else we will end up big again.
  22. Hey there, I am from KC too. I just found out that I was approved and I am waiting for my date. What dr. are you going to? I am going to DR. Lopez
