  1. Go for the fill!!! Let it help you get back on track. You know what you need to do... Don't look back ~ Just move forward.
  2. Good luck. After 15 years my hubby switched companies. First thing I did was call the insurance company to ask if Lap Band was covered. When they said yes, I was bounching off the walls. Aug. 28th was my first appt. went through 3 months special diet/walking (for insurance) Nov. 26th had my surgery. I would do it again in a heart beat!!!
  3. Yes, I had the same issue with shrimp. My daughter brought home leftovers and I just threw one in my mouth. Not even thinking about the chewing part. It was the worst feeling I have ever had. Will not make that mistake twice. Things are going great now. Just waiting for my second fill next week.
  4. Jamie~ Can you post the site again? I tried some stuff at our local store and it was awful. lol I heard the same thing. If you don't eat at least 800 to 1000 cals. Your body goes in to fight mode and you won't lose. I have my first fill on the 29th. I can't wait. Right now I'm full after eatting small amounts. I normaly have 3 oz meat with lunch & dinner. I haven't been snacking much. I seem to be full for about 5 hours in between meals.
  5. Some people also have to sit up a bit using pillows and not lay flat. Give that a try too.
  6. I think everyone is different. I was 250 & 5'3" when I started and they told me- 52 grams protein & 1200 cals per day.
  7. Glad to hear your doing better. My first few days were rough too. I was so dizzy all the time. Once I got to mushies- it's be great. Over did it yesterday and I was a bit sore. But doing great. Can't eat that much, which is good. But took a meal of pain to figure that one out.
  8. PinkLady~ That is great to hear. I had surgery on the 26th. I feel great too. Tender at the port site and a bit of gas under my left shoulder. All in all a great surgery. I go to Dr. on Wed for my follow-up visit. Then I get to start mushys. :cursing: Glad to hear yours went so well too.
  9. I had my surgery on the 26th of Nov. Gained 6 pounds between the gas and IV's. This morning I'm back to the pre-surgery weight. I do have swelling and they told me it would go down within the month. Good luck to everyone!!!
  10. Right before my week of liquid diet I ate Qdoba twice in one week. I couldn't get enough of it. It's like a Taco Del Mar. But I still lost 12 pounds in 6 days for the surgery. All in all I lost 35 pounds before the surgery and today I was back at my weight of surgery day. All the IV fluid is gone.
  11. I'm one day out and I can't tell either way. Yesterday I wasn't hungry, but today I'm starting to feel I need something. More water or juice. hmmm :grouphug: I hope I feel a little restricted soon. What does it feel like??
  12. I had my surgery yesterday. Only pain so far and not bad it a little bit of the gas stuck under my left shoulder. I can tell I had surgery but doesn't hurt much at all. I would do it again in a heart beat. I lost 25 pounds since June 24th and another 10 pounds the week before surgery. Good luck with your jorney. It's well worth it in my eyes.
  13. Congrats to all of you. My surgery is the 26th, less than 24 hours away. I must have pulled the short straw, my surgery is at 1pm. The last one of the day. So with them running behind and lunch- maybe 2:30pm. lol Billy get some sleep.
  14. sparkle.com and they other one is tickerfactory.com One you create one- copy and paste into your signature. I'm saving you now to keep in touch. :cursing:
  15. Welcome!! Mine is also the 26th. We had a mini Thanksgiving on Tuesday for me. My mood is ok so far- I've been reading alot the new Twilight series. Can't get enough of it right now. My kids hid the final bok from me so I have something to read next week. Best wishes on this new journey... I'm right there with you on the success stories. My hubby took pics of me last night to see the differance.
  16. Day 1 for me. COuldn't drink the stuff they wanted me to have. So I'm having 2 Slimfast and a lean frozen meal for 800 cals. I have a headache too, but I also said good bye to my long time friend "Diet Coke" last night.
  17. I had my pre-opt appt yesterday. Started 800 cals for the next 6 days today. I just about threw up when I tasted the drink they said I could buy. It was EAS... I think I'll stick with Slimfast and only have two per day and the frozen meal. I couldn't get that stuff down if I tried. lol I heard the port replacement was normally done under just a local. Seems easy enough- but like Sue said andother scar.
  18. Mine is Nov. 26th- pre-opt starts on the 19th. Ican't wait!!!
  19. Great job Denise~ I have now lost 26 pounds, and next week I will start the pre-opt diet. I will lose another 10 + pounds before surgery on the 26th. If all goes well, I really could have a total of 50 lbs off by Christmas. Good luck with you surgery. Hugs Julie
  20. Aetna called today and approved my surgery. My doctor sent them all my paperwork on Monday!!! I started Weight Watchers on June 23rd. I have lost 26 pounds. I went for my first doctor appt. at the end of Aug. and has been smooth sailing all the way. I did a 90 diet thing for insurance and I'm good to go. Pre-opt diet starts on the 19th and surgery on the 26th. I'm so excited I can hardly sit still.
  21. I went from a BMI of 50 to 44 and my insurance still approved me. I started weight watchers in June, went to doctors in Aug. and got my approval today. I start pre-opt liquid diet on the 19th and surgery on the 26th. I'm so excited I can hardly sit down. Good luck to everyone.
  22. Your liver hangs over where they will put the band and stiches. They have to shrink the liver to be able to move it up a little without damage. No carbs does the shrinking. Drink up.
  23. They knew I really wanted it on the 25th or 26th. They just put me down for the 26th. But if they don't hear back by the 19th she will take me off. She said she normally doesn't do that.
  24. WannaBSkinnyB~ Congrats on your date. Who is your doctor? I have been penciled in for the 26th with Dr. Michaelson. Hopefully Aetna will get back to them by the 19th when I start the pre-opt diet.
