  1. Good to hear you are doing well. I had my Pre Admission testing today and hope to have the surgery on Feb 10th We'll compare notes!!!
  2. I find this discussion fascinating!! What I would like to see on this forum is for everyone to tell what band they have and then monitor everyone's progress. No cheating! It would be an interesting informal study.

  5. Wow it is February and in one month we will be on our journey. Some of you have already been banded and we are hoping to hear from you. This group will be a major support to me on this journey. I have given it lots of thought. Today I had an echo and a stress test and the techs have had a few patients that have had it done and they do well - moving better, no medications, etc. i hear the concerns about the diet and I too am concerned but if I am not so hungry I think I can do better. At least that is my focus. Also if I can sleep better without the extra weight I will definitely be in control. All the best. Jane
  6. I'm Feb 10th too. Have my preop class tomorrow. Need to decide on what band - Realize C or AP lapband? anyone else having hte same dilemna?:bored:
  7. Hi did you find any info about the bands. I have to soon choose and I am having a hard time.
  8. I heard that doing the yoga move -downward facing dog- works well. Good luck . Let us know
  9. Hi, I did not send you the message but I am looking for a mentor in the Central NJ area. Have you been banded?
  10. I have the time to exercise and I do, so that will not be the hard part. I am worried about head hunger. I am hoping the band will help. I will try to push the Feb bandsters to exercise. I really mix up my exercise. I play tennis 2x a week, I do 2 Zumba classes a week ( lots of fun!!) and Yoga 2x a week followed by weights. I have found it helpful to have an exercise buddy and to do it away from home. It is so important to the success of having the band. I am trying to figure out what I will be able to do immediately postop. I will keep you updated.:cursing:
  11. Hey bandmate, We are being banded on the same date. Keep in touch
  12. Hi, Got my date - Feb 10th. Anxious but ready. Hope all goes well for us. Let's keep in touch with our progress.:scared2:
  13. HI, Your remark as to why I did this hit a nerve. I have a Feb.10th date and that is all I can think of. Should I do this? I am scared but I should probably be more scared of the consequences of not getting this weight off permanently,:scared2: Wishing you the best. Keep in touch.
  14. I too have been lurking. I have my first appt with Dr. Abkin, FLorham Park, NJ. I am hoping for a Feb. date as well. I will let you all know if I will be the Feb. Band Wagon.
  15. Thanks, I have been doing Yoga for years and I was concerned that it might be a problem post band. I would hate to give it up!!! I also play tennis at least twice a week but I think that will be no problem. Have been doing Zumba too. Lots of fun!!!! really helps with the balance.
  16. HI, I was wondering if anyone has done yoga with their Lapband? Is it uncomfortable? Are there any problems?
  17. Hi, I have been following the "oct 29th group". I am going through the pre band process. Planning on a banding in Feb.09. Just want to keep in touch on all of your progress. Keep up the good work. Your are encouraging!!!:tongue2:
  18. I have gone to different gyms for over 10 years - college gyms, commercial gyms like Bally's, and the YMCA. I find there are people of all sizes, shapes, etc. at all of them. You may find a time when the place is not too busy when you may feel more comfortable. I have found the Y to be the most friendly place I have ever been.
