  1. Hi Dragonfly, glad to see you on here! Let me know if you still need help with your ticker, I can help you
  2. I have the PAC do my fills. She is very good and I have never felt any discomfort. She is in and out in a few seconds. No lidocaine.
  3. I am also losing slow but I do think it has something to do with your starting BMI also. I hope to be at my goal weight at 1 year post op.
  4. I was banded a couple of months after you and have only now with my 5th fill felt any restriction. I now have 6.0cc in a 10 cc band and am going in for another fill in a couple of days. What I do is weigh my food but most times I can't eat the whole 4 oz. I try to eat 3 oz of protein and 1 oz of veges. I don't feel "full" like I did before the band, I just feel like I can't eat anymore and that is when I stop. I will usually start to feel some pressure or will start to burp and that is when I know I have to stop. You are doing great!
  5. Hi Teri, I was banded October 30 2008 and am also losing slow. I am like you, it has taken a while before I could feel any restriction. I only started feeling restriction with my last fill so I am hoping it will come off a little quicker. Good Luck!
  6. Congratulations!! I was banded a couple of weeks after you but haven't lost as much. I now have 6cc in my 10 cc band and finally feel restricted. I am now starting to lose
  7. Why can't you go back and get your fill early? Why do you have to wait until March? I started booking my next appt 2 weeks after my fill in case I didn't feel restriction. I just had my 3rd fill, 5.5cc in a 10 cc band and now feel restriction. I will see how it goes and if I am still feeling restriction next week I will cancel my appt and make it for a later date.
  8. Hi! I was also banded by Dr. Atkinson and Dr. Soong. I haven't attended the support seminars but I think I am going to try and get there next week. Good luck on your journey :cursing:
  9. I was banded 10/29/08 and I have had 3 fills. I am now at 5.5 cc in a 10 cc band. I am only now feeling restriction. I can only eat 4 oz of food at any meal and I only eat 3 times/day. Most of my meal is lean protein. When I eat too much I feel very bad heart burn and need to learn to stop prior to this feeling. I am finally starting to lose some weight, 4 lbs the first week after this fill. Yeah !!!!
  10. Hi Mike, I am feeling the same way you are. I had my surgery on 10/29/08. At the time of surgerymy doctor filled my band with 1.5 cc's. About 1 week after surgery my band became so tight with the swelling and I became very very nauseated. I had to have the fluid removed. I had my first fill on 12/5/08 and they replaced the 1.5 cc's they took out. I do not feel any restriction from the fill and my weight loss is at a standstill. I can eat anything but try not to. I get my 2nd fill on 1/2/09. I hope I feel some restriction after that fill. I too am a little impatient and want to start seeing some results.
  11. I had surgery on 10/29/08. My doctor placed 1.5cc in my band at the time of surgery. It became very tight after surgery and I was very nauseated. I had to have the 1.5 cc's removed. I went back on 12/5/08 for my first fill and they put back in the 1.5cc's they originally took out. Now I feel no restriction at all. I go back for another fill on 1/2/09. I am hoping to feel some restriction after that fill. My weight loss has been at a stand still
  12. I was banded on Oct 29 and just had my first fill on Dec 5th. I still feel very little restriction. From what I have read on here it is a gradual process and can take a few fills until we are at the right restriction. You don't want the band too full or you will be vomiting and have alot of discomfort. I think we have to be patient and remember the band is a tool, not a cure all. I also financed my surgery and have the same fears as you. Try to stay positive. We will lose the weight
  13. Hi Everyone, I also had alot of problems with gas but after taking the Gas-X strips I feel alot better. I am on full fluids for 3 weeks. Yesterday I tried to eat some thin cream of wheat and some cream soup. I can only eat about 2.5 oz. Then I became very nauseated for the rest of the day. I also now have very bad heart burn. I have some suppositories for the nausea and am taking Tums for the heart burn. My doctor says it is due to the tightness of the band and the swelling. I am going to go back to clear liquids for a few days. Any body else have problems with nausea and heart burn? I was planning on returning to work tomorrow but that is not going to happen. Recovery seems longer than I had anticipated. I can't even stay up all day at home yet.
  14. Hi everyone! Glad to see we are all doing well. I had my surgery at 8:00 am and was discharged home at 10:30 am. I am in more discomfort than I anticipated but I know every day it will get better. I am also still very swollen, my tummy is very bloated. I am walking but I guess it will just take time. I am on thick fluids for the next 3 weeks but I have only been sipping clear fluids so far like water, broth, and crystal light. I am also constipated so I think I need to get some milk of magnesia. Even with the discomfort I am so glad I decided to have this surgery :smile2:
  15. Hi Maggies, I was banded on the 29th also but I have the other problem, I am constipated. Haven't been to the bathroom since before the surgery. I too am very swollen. I am also feeling more uncomfortable than I anticipated but I am up and walking around as much as I can. Good luck with your band :smile2:
