Hi all, I am in the same boat, banded on Jan. 16th with only 1 1/2 cc in my band, have had only 2 fills. I WANT RESTRICTION, and am NOT getting it!!! :wink2: :sad: Everytime I go see the surgeon I tell him that I have NO RESTRICTION, I am beginning to wonder if he speaks ENGLISH????? I am eating more and more and have gained back 3lbs this past week. I am getting MAD!

I am like a few other people on this thread, I don't get it either! I have a 10cc band with 2 fills, first one was 1cc and the second one was 1/2cc, the doc wants to take it slowwww! OMG! My feeling is I can eat a lot to finally feel full from the band. My saying I eat a lot, I mean I can sit down and eat a 4oz burger (no bread, it gets stuck) and maybe some sliced tomatoes, pickles, fruit cup! Isn't that a lot for someone who has a lapband????? I have lost 30lbs since Jan. but I have been stuck at this weight for about 3 weeks, I am getting very upset. I want more of a fill and doc won't do it. My breakfast is 1 cup cereal, 1 cup milk and whole banana and then I am hungry by 11:00am. By 3:30 I am wanting supper after eating a good size meal for lunch, I am scared I have stretched my pouch out. Any ideas on what I can do about feeling so hungry all the time.

Hi Restless Monkey, I have a question for you. If they don't put an incission over the area where the band is at then why do I have one right in the middle of my belly right below my chest bone, clear up by my breast? I had 5 incissions, with a 10cc lap band.

I have never heard of this either??? I am going to have a TT as soon as this weight is off. I did not have to pay for my lap band so the money will be put toward having my "apron of 35 years) :cursing:removed!!!!! It is so ugly and I am sick of seeing it in the mirror and seeing it through my bathing suit!

Had surgery on Jan. 16th and drove on the 18th to the grocery store! Did not need ANY pain meds at all! Just had discomfort, NO PAIN!!!! Went to church on the 18th and Pastor about fell over when I walked in. Love my BAND!!!!

I had my banding done at a military base in Dayton and the doctor used the Allergan Band, size 10cc. Had it done on Jan. 16th and love the results have lost a little over 30lbs so far. He is taking it slow with the fillings, 1/2cc at a time!

Had to stay over night as I have sleep Apnea, with a CPAP machine. Had to bring machine with me and use it at the hospital. Nurses talked and laughed all night so it would have been better to go HOME!!!!!!!!!!!!

Banded on Jan. 16, 2009, also located south of Dayton, banded at WPAFB. Live around the Franklin area........

Hi Kim, I too was banded by WPAFB on Jan 16,09. I live down around Franklin. I am not working at this time. I agree with you about info at WPAFB, I don't even know what type of band and how big it is?? I had my first fill in March and I am starving more now than before the fill, not sure what that is about. I go back next Monday for second fill, hopefully I will feel some restriction!!! I have lost around 30 lbs since pre-op and doing okay but just have to watch amount of food since I feel like I could sit down and eat as much as I wanted, scary..... My husband is retired AF and had 25 years in. Fourteen years out in the civilian world. We sure miss the military life...Have one son and one granddauther. I sing with an International Chorus over in Centerville on Tuesday nights, we have a lot of fun and heading to competition in Oct, 09. Take care and hope to hear from you....Jan

Hay, Monkey! I am in the same "Tree" as you, I have NEVER crushed a pill or taken liquid anything since Lapband surgery! No problem at all. They had me scared to death that my "horse" pills wouldn't go down, huh, no problemo!!!!!!!!

I am another CPAP lover. I have had mine since May 08 and can't get over the difference it has made in my life! I have Obstructive Sleep Apenea. Yes, I was a little upset about wearing it at first, but now it goes everywhere I go, New Orleans to work on Katrina damage, vacations, camp, etc.... wouldn't leave home without it. So now there are 3 of us in bed, myself, DH, and CPAP, isn't life grand!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh, yes, I did have to bring it with me to have surgery for band. My setting is 9, not sure if that is high or not????? Anybody have an answer?

Hay Jodi, That is great with the weight loss! congrats to you. I was at the same starting weight as you. I am 5'4" so I am on the downword spiral....lost 30lbs so far, banded on Jan 16th, only 1 fill at 1cc another fill coming the first part of April I hope!

I am also a TMI person, and I tell it like it is:tt2:. If you don't like me, tough SH_T go find someone you do like. I have told EVERYONE!!!! I am proud I am taking this weight off. I have some FAMILY members who are jealous as heck. I have taken off 30 pounds in 9 weeks and some people look at me like I am sick! I just saw my DMI today and she never said a word, that is because her daughter needs to loose a BUNCH of weight along with her DSI!!!! JEALOUS:tt2:!!!!!! I've got tons of support from my DH and DS, they are proud of me! My husband wants to go to the mall and buy me some more clothes, the first 20 pounds I took off he bought me a new outfit, he was soooo proud. Plus I am shopping in my own closet now, love it! My Pastor and his wife are so proud of me too! He was afraid for me at first, but I think that was from lack of knowledge, he is okay with it now, thinks it's great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ME TOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was banded on Jan 16,09. Had my first fill two weeks ago and now I have less restriction than I did before? What is the deal???? He put in 1cc and is having me go back on April 9th for the second one. I had lost 30 pounds but have gained back 2 pounds this past 2 weeks, very frustrating to me.

What is the "CARD" you people are talking about. I never received anything about my band, except copies of printed material, etc.... I was banded on a military base, and don't even know what type of band or what size I have???? I am doing very well with it, lost 30 pounds in 8 weeks! Banded on Jan 16, 09 and went shopping the next day, felt great!

Banded on Jan 16, 09...I love going out for pizza and thought I would never see it again. Well there's this pizza place in the Dayton, OH area called Marion's. The toppings they use are all ground up and makes it so easy to eat just the topping off and leave the crust! YUMMIE!!! The sausage and mushrooms and teeny-tiney and I have no problem at all.......:tt2:

I have told who ever wants to hear about it. I have told my church family and they are ALL supportive, and so happy I am losing weight and still eating (I am chair of Fellowship, so I deal with all the dinners at church). I have never received a bad comment from anybody!!!!!!!!!!!!! Banded on January 16, 2009

Nope, did not have to have one, but wished I would have done one as I had to be at the hospital early and could not have a bowel movement before I left, too scared of surgery, plus you get constipated after surgery, so I guess it would be a good idea!

Hay Colorado, Congrats! I know what you mean. I was banded on Jan. 16, 2009 and have lost 30 pounds as of yesterday. I have dropped 2 sizes, down to an 18 YES!!! I almost started to cry, have been heavy for a long time. I went through my clothes to give to cosignment shop this week! Then I will look for some "new" clothes there and wait to buy NEW when I take more weight off...

It's been 2 months, down 30 pounds with 62 to go and no hair loss, but got a lot of it. My hair dresser is impressed, I see her every 4 weeks and she said said my hair is in good shape.

I had the samething and they told me it was from the stuff they use on you to scrub your belly with before surgery. I think I was allergic to it, because it drove me crazy with itching. I didn't do anything about it and it finally went away after a week.

I ate at Arby's and could only take 2 bites, started feeling like it was stuck so I stopped, no more for me, but I can eat popcorn!!!!! Can anybody else????

Has anybody had any trouble with constipation and diverticulosis and their Lap Band. I had my band put on 8 weeks ago and I have had 2 rounds of PAIN with diverticulosis. I did ask my surgeon about this and he said there has never been a study to see if the band makes this problem worse. I have a Servere case of it and need some answers quick! It is NOT diverticulitus, it is LOSIS:cursing:. Sorry to be sooo graffic but my colon looks like Swiss Cheese, full of holes.............

I didn't find out until right before I was rolled into the OR that I had to spend the night because of Sleep Apena and High Blood Pressure. I asked to go home the same day and he told me I was staying just 5 minutes before the OR door opened:cursing: I was awake all night from the party at the nurses station:cursing: Got home the next day around 12:30. Have lost 27 pounds since my banding on Jan 16th, had first fill almost 2 weeks ago. Going back for 2nd fill first of April
