  1. Thank you both. I am really excited. I have the support of this site, the support of my wonderful wife and kids. I am ready to do this. I have taken my pre pictures (not pretty) and I can not wait to take my during....never really going to take after pictures because this is a life long journey...Thanks again!!!!
  2. Last night after stuffing myself with Turkey and resting watching TV late I had "that moment". it was like something came over me. I start my pre-op diet today as my surgery is 12/3. But what came over me last night was that I was at peace with food. It was kind of weird but I knew my journey was starting and my old way of eating and being fat was going away. But i physically felt at peace and calm about this. I had "that moment". Does anyone know what I am talking about? Or is it just me being weird?
  3. Congrats.....i was scratching my head when the Title said 12/25...HAHA...I wish you much success and health. as far as going home the same day my doctor said more and more doctors are doing this as outpatient care. My surgery is next week 12/3 and I will be going home the same day.
  4. My pre-op diet is 5-6 cans of slim fast optima a day. I can also switch in broth from time to time. Its 7 day pre-op that was suppose to start tomorrow on Thanksgiving but my surgeon said go and enjoy yourself. So I start Friday.
  5. This is really real....it is hitting me now. I start my pre-op diet tomorrow. The doctor said I can have some turkey and food on Thanksgiving and "enjoy myself" so he says. My date is 12/3....i am starting to get nervous.
  6. I am scared to death of this. I love my wife, we have been together since we were 14. I do not want this to break us up. I am doing this to get healthier for us and the kids.
  7. ouch so sorry to hear that. I went for my pre-admit yesterday and they scheduled me for 5:30AM on 12/3....I hope the doctor has his coffee before he cuts me, dont want a groggy doc making mistakes. I wish you guys luck!!! You will do fine.
  8. another piece of advice is to stay away from the negative threads on this website about band removal.....not knocking them but why read them until needed. They are there for good information when you need it. I always read the positive ones. I love the NSV(Non scale victories) thread. Also the before and after pic thread. Stay towards the positive and dont let the negative creep in. good luck you will do fine!!
  9. My advice is don't cancel. If you follow the steps correctly, dont eat until your doctor tells you post-op and you should be fine. Of course everyone is different. My surgery is 12/3 and I can not wait for it. If you focus on the risks and not the rewards you are only looking at the glass half empty. you have to think positive and you will be fine. I wish you luck and hope you don't cancel. By looking at your ticker you only have 80lbs to lose.....go after that goal with a clear and positive mind.
  10. no negatives here. The porpose of the pre-op diet is to shrink our fatty livers so the doctor can easily get in there and apply the band....a little cheating is fine because you have been on it for a really long time. Mine is only 7 days that I start on Thanksgiving. So I feel for you but dont beat yourself up about it. Get back on track and you will be fine.
  11. Is it possible to make a woman squirt? or is this a myth and I should stop trying........
  12. HAHA Alabama is close to Texas right??:wink_smile: look us up!!! haha
  13. That surgery is called Vaginal Rejuvenation surgery google it. Makes you look 18 again!!!
  14. yes I was told no drinking 30 minutes before or after a meal.....this defeates the purpose of having a small stoma and flushes out the food thats in there and you feel hungry again.
  15. I just got a call this morning and my surgery date is 12/3....now I am starting to freak.....me.....getting approved? WOW!!! well lets all take this journey together!!! it should be fun! Now if I could only get that ticker thing to work....HAHA.
  16. i got approved 2 weeks ago and my surgery is 12/3....i start my 7 day pre-op diet ON Thanksgiving fun fun fun.....so we are making the turkey this weekend...haha. I so can not wait. I wish you luck!!!!!
  17. I would keep trying. Keep your weight the same during the 6 month diet monitoring. 1 co-morbid condition is all i needed. My BMI is 40.1 though. But with the history in your family going down in weight would be going away from those problems. Keep going and go for it!!!! i wish you luck!
  18. sorry to hear about your past issues. its a tough situation since your husband is a guy and is going to need it....maybe think of other ways to "do it" he will be happy.
  19. my Pre-op diet is 5-6 slim fast optimas a day for 7 days......its going to be a nightmare!!!!
  20. I got my approval last Friday as well. I have aetna and they required 90 day diet monitoring. last 3 years of medical records, sleep study, upper gi which was horrible drinking that plaster. But now that I am approved I am just waiting to schedule the surgery!! i can not wait!!!
  21. ok please don't take this as a downer but take this as a heads up from someone who just went through the approval process. I have Aetna insurance and my BMI is 40.1....with Aetna if your BMI is over 35 but under 40 you have to have another co-morbid condition like sleep apnea. So if your doctor doesn't recommend one i would ask him to schedule a sleep study or look for other co-morbid conditions. This will help you get your approval. Aetna told me that if I was chosing the gastric bypass I would have gotten denied but with the lapband because it is an outpatient procedure that is why they approved me. Its frustrating but I am glad I got my approval. I wish you the best of luck on your new journey!!!
  22. NICE!!! Congrats on that. Good for you. People have to be happy in their skin no matter what your cup of tea. This world would be a much better place if the nay sayers kept their thoughts to themselves and stopped trying to force their beliefs on others. I applaud you.
  23. nothing wrong with that. enjoy it and enjoy life because its short and you only get one!!!
  24. Bunkey you sound like a great woman and your husband is lucky to have you. If he cant accept your fantasies then thats his problem. I for one would let my wife sleep with another guy in front of me because thats what she wants. I am not jealous and if it makes her happy it would make me happy. He will come around....HAHA. Yo rock congrats!!!
  25. #1 this has to do with the bad. After you lose the weight you have to have NSV. #2 if you dont like the topic dont read it. So YES this is an experience and a journey that I want to take after losing all the weight. gosh people make me sick when they dont like something they have to stop others when they have full complete control over what they click on, listen to or read.
