Small world. Anyone else here from keller?

Keller Texas here. Where did you guys get banded? I am going through Baylor Southwest. So far I am very happy with them. November seems to be when I will get mine done. Insurance required a 90 day diet monitoring which ends October 3rd. Had my upper GI (HORRIBLE). I have my sleep study October 4th and October 10th. Then its just the waiting game for approvals. I hope I get a :rolleyes2:. I can not wait to get it done.

To the positive responses I Thank you!! I most certainly am not an abusive husband to the negative responses. I agree with Fairy and others that when I can't eat fast foods or drink soda then my whole family will lose weight. This will be a lifestyle change for me and my whole family. My wife and I have had a long coversation about this today. She really looks forward to changing her diet and working out together. This is a journey she is willing to take with me. I love my wife and I am glad she is by my side.

Ahh its really not that bad. I had 4 pulled wisdom teeth and 1 molar in the same day. They knocked me out. The next day I was at a steakhouse eating a nice steak. you will be fine. I am more nervous about my lap band coming up in November. no more steaks for me!!!

She has no medical conditions, but she, like me, is lethargic always exhausted and just "unhealthy". I did apologize but she, like me, has to lose weight. Heart disease in women is a huge problem. I want her around forever with me. she is the love of my life, only woman I have ever loved and been with. 9/24/91 is our 17 year anniversary since we were 14 years old.

dang I am always doing that. But after 17 years of being together I guess she gave me a pass. I didn't do it out of malice. Just want her to be healthy.

I will be getting the band in November <fingers crossed> if all goes to plan. I am 31 years old, 6' 1" weigh 300lbs. My goal is to lose about 100lbs. My beautiful wife and mother of my 3 children is also 31 years old. Still looks beautiful but like many other women after giving birth has gained weight. She is 5' 9" and weighs 200lbs. Here is where I feel I maybe stuck my foot in my mouth and was rude to her but it was not my intention. I suggested that she also have the lap band done so we can take this journey together. Of course she was not very happy about that. I mean we have been together since we were 14, I have seen here at 18 when she had an AMAZING BODY :smile2: but at age 25 when we had our first child she started to pack on the pounds. She says she wants to lose it on her own but we have both tried that. I don't know......maybe men just don't get women sometimes..... HELP!!! :thumbup:

how long ago were you banded? how long did you wait for your first fill?

I am hoping to. All signs point to that if I get my approval before the end of October from insurance. Where are you having it done? I am at Baylor Southwest in Fort Worth, TX. good luck with yours!!!

I am so glad I found this forum. You folks are great and thank you for the quick responses. I have a wife that is a great support system and this forum gives me even more of a support because its the same folks that had it done. I cant wait for my surgery. sleep study 10/3 and 10/10 2 weeks after that I should hear my answer from insurance.

I am torn. The doctors office says they will give me 4 weeks. I know recovery isn't that long but I want to get use to the eating so I am not throwing up at my desk. Just curious as to how long folks took from work? I get 13 weeks of short term disability at my work. So torn :crying:
