New Here From North Texas

Just wanted to say Hello! I am a newbie. I have not been banded this is all very new to me. I am in the beginning stages of the pre surgery process! I am nervous, happy and scared all at once. i go for my Psych Eval Tuesday then meet with my Dr at the end of this week and surgery probably the very first Tuesday in October!! Have to say I am very overwhelmed with all the info they give you. I attended a 5 hr Education class last Monday and whew...I only thought I knew some stuff!! I am excited about all the info I received though! I left that class with my brain hurting and then I cried for 2 days!! :rolleyes2: But I am better now and it's had time to sink in a little. Now if I can just handle the PRE Surgery Diet!!! :girl_hug:

Welcome! I'm in McKinney. It's always good to have another TX girl here. I know it can all seem really overwhelming at the beginning, but I'm glad I had to go through it all b/c it really helped me get in the right frame of mind for surgery. It really does require huge life changes, but I am so happy I finally made the decision (only took me 2 1/2 years!).

Keller Texas here. Where did you guys get banded? I am going through Baylor Southwest. So far I am very happy with them. November seems to be when I will get mine done. Insurance required a 90 day diet monitoring which ends October 3rd. Had my upper GI (HORRIBLE). I have my sleep study October 4th and October 10th. Then its just the waiting game for approvals. I hope I get a :rolleyes2:. I can not wait to get it done.

Hi there - I am in Keller Tx as well. I was banded exactly one-week ago by Dr. David Kim at North Hills Hospital - he is an excellent doctor. Good Luck with everything and if you need support or just to talk or questions, I will be happy to answer anything I can. You will do excellently!
