Miralax Mistake
The nurses at the hospital were so anxious for me to poop - they gave me full strength Miralax after I drank a bottle of something to check for leaks ( which was ALSO a laxative ) I spent 2 weeks in adult diapers and finally I took immodium to stop the volcano eruptions. That was the worst 2 weeks of my life !

NickelChip - keep track of your measurements. That happened to me - my weight was so slow, but the first time I measured myself ,I lost 15 inches ! I'm glad you feel so great after surgery !

Total Carbs or Net Carbs?
I was taught to count "net Carbs". I always subtract the fiber or the sugar alcohol. Works for me

Gastric sleeve after menopause
Mine was May 22 of last year. When I first met my surgeon I asked if there was an upper age limit and he said no I thought I'd be too old , but I guess it all depends on your health at the time. It's great to see results, isn't it ?

Gastric sleeve after menopause
I don't know the percentage , but I lost 25ish pounds so far. My doc said weight loss at my age will be alittle slower because my metabolism has slowed down. So far so good !

Lessons from my post-weight loss style journey
Before my surgery , I'd constantly look like I was going to a funeral - I was always in black or really muted colors. You know - black is "slimming" ....LOL Now , I'm in bright prints and colors ,,what a difference Also, every year I'd pack away my summer clothes . I would just panic when it was time to get them out again - I knew I grew out of them. Very rarely did any of them fit. Now I'm reaching into the back of my closet where I saved some of my favorite clothes and I'm actually growing INTO them - instead of OUT of them ! What a great feeling !

How long after surgery did you have to go for check ups?
I saw my P.A. today and she made my next appointment for May - one year anniversary of my surgery. I was just curious how long you had to keep going for check ups after surgery ? I'm hoping that will be the last one

What are good problems you have?!
I'm the poster child for Goodwill ! My sizes are changing so fast, I'm always buying ,wearing and re-donating them. I tell myself I'm just "renting" the clothes...LOL The BEST thing that's happened is I'm off ALL of my meds ,no longer pre-diabetes and my last blood pressure was 110/70 . That's unheard of for me So far, those are the best "problems" I'm having !!!!
