  1. I got drug and nicotine tested before surgery. From what the doc said, surgery will be postponed till you are free of everything for a month.
  2. I thought they were kidding when they told me they have a discount card for me. It's an actual card that says I'm a bariatric surgery patient ,and as a result of having a small stomach,I can only eat small quantities. Please let her adjust her portions and price it accordingly . We haven't gone out to eat in over 10 years , but I think I'd feel silly using it ! Have you gotten one ?
  3. I just had my surgery a months ago at 69. According to my doc at my check up , I'm losing weight at the normal speed. Hopefully it will keep going ! I was happy to read all the above comments - it keeps me hopeful
  4. I had the sleeve ...cost $57,000 . I have Medicare and United health care. Everything was paid for except the dietician appointments.
  5. I had a robotic sleeve done. My doctor also fixed my hiatel hernia and told me the robot has better dexterity for sewing my esophagus in place.
  6. My stool was almost black - it scared me ! I looked all over the internet for info, but couldn't find anything. So that's what it's from -- iron ? Whew ... that's a relief to know that. ( Sorry for TMI ...LOL )
  7. Thank you for giving me hope ! I feel so guilty not doing as much around the house as I used to . I'll hang in there !!!
  8. Sorry if this topic was already discussed, this is my first post here I had my surgery on May 22, it went great except for the first 13 days - I had the most horrible diarrhea I've ever had in my life. That's done (whew) but I'm so tired , I just drag myself around every day. I'm 69 YO . I was never really active except for short walks ,but now everything exhausts me. I was wondering if this goes away as time goes by . I'm at the purreed stage of my diet and I'm wondering if eating so little has anything to do with it. You can see, I'm full of questions LOL . Any experiences to share ? Thank you so much ...Kathy
