  1. Two days after thanksgiving no less. Cheer!
  2. I use various patches for sleep and so I was curious about this as well, but my surgeon advised against these specifically indicating the absorption is just not consistently vthere enough to meet our needs.
  3. There’s an injection called Kibella that might be able to help a bit depending on extent. Worth discussing with a derm
  4. They had us begin replacing one meal with protein shake, create protein focused meals and limit our carb serving to half a cup whole grains a day, when I started the process. I am a born rule follower so I was approved to surgery after my first month on this but the nutritionist gave me the impression she doesn’t clear people for surgery until she’s confident they are following it. Maybe that’s in part why they didn’t do they liquid dirt either.
  5. This weekend my nerves are in hyperdrive ahead of my Dec 5th sleeve surgery. While you might think it’s surgery itself or pain or resulting restriction that might be making me nervous the root of my nerves is more psychological. I’m nervous about losing a part of myself, how my relationships might change, and to some degree not having my weight as a protective shield that despite all its faults seems to do a good job of repelling assholes. Don’t get me wrong, I’m still excited for the surgery and know it’s the right step for me, and will help be become more healthful and confident, but curious if anyone else is worrying about similar things.
  6. Can anyone recommend any favorite posters/posts here that do a good job chronicling life after surgery?
  7. I have my surgery scheduled for December 5. I see a lot of folks who are similarly scheduled are on liquid diets but my surgeon only has me on one two days before surgery- is this normal?
  8. Hi twin- December 5th for me as well!! (I’m also a Sarah) Skipping thanksgiving this week with the family to avoid getting sick for potential delay. Anyone else in this boat?
  9. I’m scheduled for December 5. I’m skipping thanksgiving with my family bc we can’t seem to make it out if a family gathering without a COVID outbreak and I do not want my surgery delayed. I’m going through the emotions as well. It’s the first time I feel nerves about the procedure and long term after effects. Not nervous about the liquid diet so much. I just had my 4 hour nutritional class Thursday and was surprised we aren’t on liquids only longer. I’ve been able to do a juice cleanse for 21 days in the past so I know I can get through the liquid only portion of this. Right now I’m particularly fixated on concerns around hair loss which I am just learning is a potential side effect.
