Help! Does this incision look normal??
Thanks guys. I'm not having any other issues like fever or whatnot, and I don't believe it's infected, I just was shocked when I looked at it this morning. I have a post op visit on December 1st. Hopefully by then the bruise will be looking better. Thanks!

Starving!
Hey -- I to, got banded November 13th!! I'm drinking all clear fluids with the exception of Protein shakes. I was starving and I had no energy so I go the go ahead to do the shakes. My doctor told me to have 2oz of the shake every hour. That's a lot of drinking! I'm sure once you start that you'll feel better. I can't wait to progress to full liquids, I'm gonna call and see if theres any way to eat full liquids sooner. I'm gonna add you as a friend as you had the surgery the same day as me and I like having friends to go through the same stages together. Keep us posted.

How soon did you have sex post-op?
I'm kind of a prude. Since being on antidepressants it had for sure decreased my sex drive. My poor husband:( The last thing I want to do is have sex when I'm in this much pain as it is. But if I do, I think I'm going to wait at least 2 weeks.

I hate people eating around me!
Yeah, I'm lucky to have a supportive husband who keeps reminding me that I'm doing this for nothing. Since I've had the surgery besides going to peoples houses, he's been eating on the way home or eating when I'm not there. People out there don't understand a lot about the lap band the food restrictions with it, so we just have educate our friends and family and let them understand that this is a very strict plan. I wish you guys luck on your weight loss journey!

okay now I understand bandster hell now :-(
Girl -- I'm having the same problem. Although I'm not as far into my post op diet as you. I'm in week 1 of clear liquids. However last night I went to m aunts house and she was serving pasta ( my weakness) and I thought I was going to cry cause it was just salivating in my mouth. I know this is going to be hard, but I IT WILL GET BETTER!

I hate people eating around me!
I hope so guys!! I'm not going to eat any of the stuff that I'm not supposed to eat, trust me!! I'm almost done with Clear Liquids, then it's on to full liquids! I should just look forward to week after week. I'm trying to avoid going out if I'm going to be around people who eat. This is a struggle, but in the end, it's so worth it!:w00t:

I hate people eating around me!
So I just gotta vent... Nov 13 was the day I got baned.. so as you know I'm still on my liquids.... Last night my husband and I went to his aunts for dinner. I brought my protein shake but they had pasta and chicken parmesean my fav!!! I was about to cry sitting at the table just smelling it. I wanted to just put in my mouth and spit it out, but I know that wouldn't be cool. My weakness has always been Italian food. This is going to be a tough patch to get through as far as eating liquids.. But I can do it!!:w00t:

I had lapband surgery on November 13th. My question is for the next 21 days I'm supposed to be on liquids. But how much do you have for each "meal"? How many oz? I know what to eat, I just don't know how much? Please help!:confused::tt2: Also when you start eating solids how many oz do you eat then??

Telling Friends
I somewhat have a different approach on who I told. I had my surgery on November 13th. I told people the moment I knew my date. I work at a hospital and work nightshift. I'm around a lot of nurses and doctors. I have my husband, father, and in laws, but other then that I don't have a lot of family, so I really consider some of the people I work with family. I feel that I'm not at all ashamed to tell people. I mean I'm overweight and doing something about it. I don't see WLS as a form of cheating or laziness. I believe that if you wait and and just get more overweight as the years go on, that your more at risk of certain diseases such as diabetes, high blood pressure, do I need to go on? Being in the healthcare field, if I have any concerns about myself post surgery I get good suggestions. Not to mention the fact that after surgery they would see how little I eat and wonder what's up. Almost everyone I know is extremely supportive of my decision. It's good to have that support then go through all this alone. But some people are different, some people may not be as accepting and be ignorant of what's going on. It's always up to the person!:wink2:

Thanks guys!

Had surgery 11/13, is it always going to be 2oz per meal?
I'm so confused. I have the booklet my surgeon gave me to follow but it says only 2oz per meal. Is there some kind of post out there I can follow as far as what to do each week post op?

Had surgery 11/13, is it always going to be 2oz per meal?
So I had my surgery November 13th, I'm obviously in stage 1 liquid diet. It says that I'm supposed to have 2oz per meal 3 times a day. I'm just curious is it always going to be 2oz per meal each week throughout? :wink2::confused::tongue2:

Surgery tomorrow morning at 7:15AM
Thanks. I'm doing alright. Lots of bad gas. My stomach feels hard as a rock and kinda swollen. Taking Loritab for the pain and GasX for the gas. Have done a lot of walking to try to get rid of the pain from the gas. Woke up this morning in much stronger pain then yesterday. Do they often say the second day is the worst? Anyway, I did document my surgery day if you would like to visit -- Thanks for asking!

Had my surgery today!!! Story with video!!
So I had my surgery today at 7:15AM. I was out by 9:00 and in main PACU for a couple hours. We went home around 1PM. So here it is, I got there and they had me change in my nifty gown and compression socks. It really sucked that I have my period today. They didn't let me wear a tampon or pad! UGH... I know it may TMI but that made me mad. Anywho, after the nurse started my IV in my hand instead of my forearm --- which HURT!!!, they took me soon to the OR. I go there and I'm actually very familiar with their OR's cause I work in Labor and Delivery at that hospital and a lot of the time I have to take patients back to the OR for c/s's. My room was right next to the rooms they do those c/s in. Anywho, we got in the room and everyone was really nice and introduced themself. They made me comfortable and put my arms in those arm holder things. They kept putting the mask on me and I kept talking asking questions, next thing I knew I woke up a tremndous amount of pain in PACU -- it was hard for me to wake up since they had to give me benedryl with the anestheisa cause they used a "bear hugger" which is a device to keep you warm and it gave me a rash on my chest. Dont' knnow why... LOL Anyway soon they wheeled me down to the step down area and I stayed there for a lil' bit. I was insistant I get up and walk around cause it felt worse to lay down. I went pee about 3 times. Since then I can't go #2 probably cause of the pain meds:frown: So they discharged me and the tech brought me out to the car and then my husband just parked the car and went back in and got the perscription filled. We did this because they wouldn't allow me to just go wherever, they had to make sure I was gone OK but I didn't follow the rulses LOL . Anyway we dropped of my perscription for the Loratab liquid and then we walked down the hall to where I work just to walk of this gas and I saw all my coworkers and they were very happy that things went well. We walked back to the car after picking up the persciption and we headed home. So far I've been walking around the house just a lil' bit and resting as well. I feel pretty good otherwise. So here's a video of my whole ordeal of my surgery --
