My surgery was supposed to be tomorrow. My 2 week modified-liquid went great. I was down the 25 pounds my surgeon wanted. I took the required Covid test yesterday and failed! I'm feeling fine, just a minor cold, but the surgery has been put off until June 21. I'm completely devastated. Very sad not to be joining the rest of you March surgery buddies. I'm not sure what the next 90+ days will bring.

One week until my surgery date! Can't wait!

I was originally scheduled for 2/1 and it was cancelled due to covid... now scheduled for 3/31!

I've been in nesting mode and cleaning my house (and yelling at my family to keep it clean lol) like I always do before every surgery. How's everyone else doing?

A week from tomorrow is my surgery. 03/24. I fly out to Vegas on Monday. Pre op diet has been pretty good. Ive been drinking two Protein Shakes and one of my Leftover Jenny Craig meals. Im over my UTI and have used some of the urinalysis test strips to check my ketones. Im in fat burning mode, hopefully that means my liver is shrinking as expected

Omg that is funny that we are at the same time but 3 hrs apart lol. I will be on my way to the surgery center when your surgery starts (I'm an hour and a half away). I'll be thinking of you!

Oh I understand. Our issues with food arise from all kinds of things. People need to know they aren't alone and they aren't a failure. We've got to deal with the mental aspects of obesity. For many, obesity is a symptom and not the root problem. Good luck to you!

We are surgery twins. Mine is the 21st at 10:30 pacific time. I've lost 19 so far on the pre-op diet.

Hey everyone so I had my sleeve on March 7th this past Monday and I must say that I was not expecting the level of pain im in. There are a lot of challenges im facing right now that im just uncertain about and im only one week in. I have a call with the DOC in the morning and hopefully we can get to the bottom of some of this. I haven't had a bowel movement since the surgery and each day my Fluid intake is less and less. Im trying to force fluids down causing super sharp pains and my body just doesn't want it. Anyone who has been through this, can you please tell me what you did and how you got through. Thanks. Covid test negative! Next stop, surgery!! I am getting anxious. I need to pack my hospital bag. Surgery is Wednesday so I still have time but dang this is getting real.

My procedure was on the 8th. I gained 7 pounds in the hospital from the fluids so needless to say, I felt like a stuffed turkey! I was able to get most of my Fluid, Protein, and carbs. Today I feel pretty much like normal. I’ve been reading everyone’s posts. Sounds like most are doing well.

I was getting ready to order from Amazon when I found them at Walmart. They hadn't previously been there. You might want to double check walmart again because, for me, they were cheaper.

I got my RNY on Thursday, March 3rd. Surgery went without a hitch and they even fixed my hiatal hernia which was supposed to be very small but turned out it was quite large (no wonder I had stomach acid in my mouth during the night). I stayed in the hospital for two nights (the second by choice because it seemed easier than getting home around 9 pm)

So…I thought the recovery was going to be much easier. Figured I would be back to my desk job by Monday no problem (I work from home part time). Its Thursday and I have not been back. I have six incisions…four I can’t even feel and two are tender. My concentration is minimal and am tired a lot. I had my post op appointment yesterday. The doctor said my incisions looked great but my heartrate was elevated. She asked about my Fluid intake. While in the hospital, I could drink without getting sick and drank when I wanted but since I was on IV fluids I wasn’t concerned. At home, I got in 25 oz the first day, 40 the second and 54 the third. I am supposed to get in 64 oz of 50/50 100% juice/water per day or Gatorade/water. The watered down mixture was nauseating so I have been sticking to just Water.< span> Never thought getting in the liquids would be so hard. I literally have to force myself to drink. My doctor wanted to hook me up to an IV yesterday for a few hours but I swore I would get in my 64 oz (I got in 68). I have been successful with eating popsicles and some warmed chicken soup/broth. Currently, I am supposed to be on full liquids with 4 Protein Shakes per day in addition to 64 oz of water. Since I am having a hard time, she wants me to start slow today and tomorrow before going for the 4 full shakes.< span> Every day is better and I am finally able to sleep on my side in my normal position. I am only taking pain meds to go to sleep and Tylenol the remainder of the day. NO regrets on my part just surprised at the length of recovery time after reading many stories on here. I feel the hard part is behind me. Hope everyone else is doing well!!!

Good luck! I had gastric bypass on Monday -no complications so far! Have been in a great deal of pain because they kept giving me the wrong kind of pain meds. Finally got percocet and it has helped a lot. Will be going home today, Lord Willing! My very best wishes to you!!

I'm on day 2 as well. I am allowed one small meal a day though, so it's rough but I know it could be worse. I'm drinking a lot of Water and crystal light when I feel hungry. We've got this!

I am also day 2, allowed select foods from a list given to me. Honestly it is much easier than I thought so far. I got hungry last night so I just went to bed. lol I was also busy all day yesterday, this evening I have nothing going on so I feel like that is going to make it harder. We shall see!
