5’2” female (was 46 yrs old when I had my surgery in 2018); 235 lbs at the start of my 2wk pre-op diet.
weight lost as follows:
2 week liquid pre-op diet: 11.8 lbs
Month 1: 22.2 lbs
Month 2: 15.8 lbs
Month 3: 13.2 lbs
Month 4: 11.1 lbs
Month 5: 10.3 lbs
Month 6: 12.5 lbs
Month 7: 9.0 lbs (Reached Goal by this point…127 lbs)
Months 8-12: 15-ish lbs more.
Today at 3+ years out, I have maintained +/- 5lbs of 115 lbs since, and managed to stay below goal weight the entire time.
My average calories to maintain changes as my activity levels change, but for the past several months I average about 1800 cals a day with moderate exercise. I weighed 116.6 lbs this morning.
I used to be ultra-low carb, but now I eat pretty much whatever I feel for..though in smallish amounts.

Congratulations and thank you for sharing!! I just had Covid and lost 3lbs so I’m wondering if they’ll come back but I’m only 6 months post-op -

Congratulations!! that is an awesome loss!!
=====================================
My surgery was on 25 Jun 21....my 6 month mark was on Christmas day.
Month 1 start: 251.8 (surgery day)
Month 2 start: 232.6 (-19.2 pounds)
Month 3 start: 221.6 (-11 pounds)
Month 4 start: 212.6 (-9 pounds)
Month 5 start: 202.0 (-10.6 pounds)
Month 6 start: 190.4 (-11.6 pounds)
Month 6 end: 188.4 (- 2 pounds [first major stall])
Total lost in my first 6 months was 63.4 pounds. I believe I am a slow loser and that is fine with me. I have had constant heartburn that is currently being taken care of with OTC medication and may need an additional surgery to repair it. It is what it is..... I am just glad that I am no longer obese and that my size 12 jeans are getting loose on me. I've still got 40+ pounds to make it to my goal but I am in no hurry. My high weight was 275 and everything is going the right direction....that is all I care about.

Hello!
Long time lurker, first reply. I’m going to be sleeved on 2/28. I had my EGD this week, small hernia found that will need to be fixed. I have a few more preop appointments next week. I started adapting to my new lifestyle months ago so slowly, so I’m ready, I started at 330 in July. I’m at 303 today. I don’t know how to put my finger on it but all my attempts at weight loss did not feel like this. I think I’m just over all the limitations I have. I have advanced osteoarthritis and I’m just sick of not being able to get around. I’m in Atlanta Georgia.
love this forum it has helped me tremendously.

My Sleeve surgery is scheduled for 1/24/22 and I was very excited about it until this past Monday. Almost haveing second thoughts. My pre surgical diet is shakes small fruit and Protein and veggies for lunch shake for dinner. All liquids day before. I’m down 13 lbs already from 278 to 265 why am I so nervous? Did anyone else have second thought????

Hi Dcsjoc, I myself just had the sleeve surgery on 1/13/22, and I can tell you the days just prior, I was feeling second thoughts. Mine I think was a mixture of two things. One was I have already been doing great losing weight on the pre-surgery diet so maybe I don't need to do it, and the second was the feeling of loss, anger, and frustration over all the things that I will no longer be able to eat and also the amounts. I realized that both (in my case) are due to fear and control. Fear of losing comfort and wanting to control everything. I have to keep reminding myself that I did not in fact have control and to keep out of fear I have to stay in the moment and not let my head think about results and the future. I have to stay in the process and simply take it step by step. Now that I am on the post-surgery diet it's funny how much I miss the Protein Shakes. The message boards/forums here on this site have helped me so much. I hope the same for you.
